&lt;p&gt;Just opened to the public, Pinbooster is within the next wave of tools to facilitate brands and their marketing efforts now on the third largest social referral platform. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The &lt;a href="http://goo.gl/oNpg6" title="WSJ Online" target="_blank"&gt;Wall Street Journal&lt;/a&gt; published a wonderful infographic that paints a telling picture of the state of Facebook.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;blockquote&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The question for Facebook is just how much value Mr. Zuckerberg can extract from all those people that Facebook signed up for free. Last year, the company produced nearly $4 billion in revenue, mostly from advertising—far less than the nearly $38 billion that Google squeezed out of an equally large set of users in the last fiscal year. Facebook still trails behind other Web companies in capturing revenue from users. In the U.S., search engines such as Google and Yahoo make about $88 per person who uses its search engine, while Facebook makes about $15 per user, according to eMarketer Inc.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Earlier this week on October 2, &lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.linkedin.com" title="LinkedIn" target="_self"&gt;LinkedIn&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;, launched a new publishing platform designed to connect experts and thought leaders in business with a broader audience.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Users can now &amp;#8220;follow&amp;#8221; influencers across a variety of industries, who can use the service to author long-form content and leverage their brands and insights to generate a larger audience. The new tool essentially acts as an extension of &lt;a href="http://www.linkedin.com/today/" title="LinkedIn Today Link" target="_blank"&gt;LinkedIn Today&lt;/a&gt;, the social news product the company launched in 2011, and demonstrates LinkedIn&amp;#8217;s commitment to broadening the network&amp;#8217;s traditional scope and using editorial to boost platform engagement.&lt;/p&gt;
