We all know how strongly tamils love their mothertongue.It is good that they are working forward to protect their language.But i feel in many ocassion that they are narrowminded.Here is an instance that made me believe this general rule of thumb.Again i am not generalising folks in tamil nadu.I am pointing about the majority of them.

Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited is a miniratna company owned by the indian government.It is located in Neyveli in Tamil Nadu which makes it to behave eccentrically.Usually websites of public sector companies publishes job recruitment notification in English, but some joker in neyveli is adamant that only people from tamil nadu should know about the apprenticeship training in the company.This narrowmindedness is behind the tamil advertisement where the mode of application details are in tamil which is mocking all other fellow indians.

If we are going to progess this way, i afraid that we are showing axe to idea of national integration.Eventhough English is a foreign language,due to its popularity it should be promoted and don't ever think that a tamil itc youngster cannot read job notification in tamil.

Please do not bar indians who speak and read other languages for jobs in a central government psu.And stop national disintegration activities like this!

Karkidaka Masam, or Karkidakam Month, is the last month in the traditional
Malayalam calendar followed in Kerala. The month is also known as the
Ramayana Masam – the epic Ramayan is read in the month in homes and
temples. The monsoon rains are at its peak in Karkitakam month. In this year,
Karkidaka Masam began on July 17 and ends in August 16.
Karkidaka Vavu Bali a ritual dedicated to the dead ancestors and relatives is
performed on the Amavasi or no moon day in the Karkidaka Masam. Thousands
of people visit the sea shores and riverbanks to perform the ritual.
Two decades ago, Karkidaka Masam used to be one of the difficult months due
to heavy rains and floods. Majority of the people depended on agriculture and
this month used to be the month of scarcity. With the farm fields flooded, there
used to be no work and the economy used to come to a stand still. In some places,
due to the rains, it was even hard to venture outside the house. To ward off nature’s
fury people used to read the Ramayana in the month.
But things have changed and the there are no heavy rains and agriculture in
Kerala. But still people follow certain rituals in Karkidakam month.
New ventures and auspicious functions are not held during the month by Hindus.
Another highlight of Karkidakam month is the specific ayurvedic treatments followed
by people. Some people drink Karkidaka Kanji, a gruel mixed with herbs and
medicines, in the month.
There are people who also conduct Bhagavathi seva in their homes during this month to ward of evil. The Lalitha sahasranamam will be chanted to invoke the devi and the archanas will be offered. In temples there are sahasranama archanas everyday in the evening for the entire period of Karkada.
This month is the perfect time to under go the 'keraleeya panchakarma' Ayurveda treatment for the benifit of the body and soul.

At last i have made a decision.It was a painful one.To join a gym and shed pounds under the instruction of a trainer.I have never worked hard to shed kilos in the past.My father admitted me to a karate school when i was in my third class.It was so boring and exercises were hard.On exams i was failing and at 9 years i got yellow, green and blue belt.Funny because they pass you after couple of failures and in the part where fighting occurs, the elders forgive the tiny kid.Parents who admit their kids when they are tiny tots shouldn't do it unless your son is so genuinely interested and talented in the sport.In my case i had no relationship with sports and physical activity.I hated the physical education teacher and his period at school.I was more cared about the dirt that sticks on my clothes doing outside PT at school.

I didn't like to play Basket ball and failed miserably in throwing a short put,And the arrogant PT teacher who never knew to respect a human being.He found it fun at insulting me at whatever ocassions he can.

Again i joined Kungfu at Class X when a master used to teach a group on weekends at school.That was my own initiative and so it was interesting.But he stopped the class after

some weeks.So i couldn't progress in it.

I started to gain weight after 20 years.5 years later i am now trying to lose that which is a difficult task.Now i got 86 kilos.Let's see how much i can shed.I joined gym one week before.Shall keep you get updated about this project through this blog.

And the title belongs to the old headmaster of the school where i studied till Class 4.He used to address the school assembly preaching the proverb,"When wealth is lost, nothing is lost.When health is lost some thing is lost.When charactor is lost, everything is lost".I remember hearing his take on the First Gulf War through the assembly.I was a small kid when Iraq invaded Kuwait and this headmaster told us about the war.

There is a promise i try to keep in life.To respect money as it deserves to be and not to love it so hard.I know that money is like heroine to a human being.It can degrade the goodness of a man.People steal or kill to get or retain money.Another thing people do is that they entangle it with relationships.We indians practise the f****ing practice of dowry which is illogical and absurd.

Dowry means a present or gift given to bridegroom after he marries the girl from a family.The family gives their hard earned money so that the girl is taken cared well by the groom's family.Those who battles for dowry interprets this as a gift given to the girl.But in most of the cases, the money ends up getting wasted by the men and the girls have no say in that.

When people mix relationship with money, you can expect problems and calamity there.How can you trade love between husband and wife, parents and children etc with money?Problem is not with the money.It is with the people who use it and love it with their wicked heart.

I heard first about shares from my father who invested in paper stocks of Barmer Lawrie Limited which was converted to Kochin Refineries Limited and then to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.All i had an idea was that by buying shares they send you some letter which is written annual report.In the annual report, a form for proxy voting was there.If we go to Kochi, we get free lunch in buffet style.This was the idea i had in mind when i was a kid.

Later my maths teacher, Mr M.G Daniel who has got a beautiful signature and ability to create instant comedy taught me about shares and debentures when he was taking me tution in the eight standard.I learned it well and read again and got interested.I was interested in Maths and the chapters that taught simple interest and compound interest.But i didn't pursue any.

A person named Tomas (aged minimum 20 years more than me), ran an automobile spares shop in the 'ugly' (i hate this place , mainly the people) village where i live. He subscribed to magazines such as india today and business today.I used to borrow magazines from him to read.I was a kid then and read them well.I didn't get a thing.What is this sensex and nifty all about?

I was observing the word sensex closely.Liks all kids ,i too read the word in a different way Sen - Sex .That is the way god made us - a bag full of imperfections and the weight of the bag is growing day by day with fat deposition ultimately leading to blocks in the arteries and heart attacks.

I am wondering now how i wasted time by moving around the pages of the business today with out understanding a word.

Then time passed and i knew nothing about business and has no interest in it.A program in Surya TV (our funny malayalam channel) inspired me during my plus two days.An entrepreneur named Lalaji inspires the audience every week about doing business rather than settle for a job.He asked people to come up and form teams and take up software projects.He shared the name of one website name Elance.com which i heard as elands.com .It took me years to find that what he meants was elance.

I got a friend in my engineering from Kottayam who told me that he and his father were interested in share trading and they indeed were making money.Still i didn't bothered to knew more and shied away from business and finance news.Everything finance related seemed boring to me.

Then in second half on 2006,i read some inspirational books like "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", Guide to Investing and another book by Donald trump and Robert Kiyosaki which made me think differently.Soon i tried to watch NDTV Profit available on my cable tv and it feeled good.

Now i subscribe Business Line and watches business tv channels like CNBC TV18, NDTV Profit, UTV1 Business News etc. But still knows nothing much about investing in stocks.

I started my investing in 2006 and had some instances of losses and success.I bought a bad company called Aztecsoft and lost some money on it.Made some money on idea cellular.

In May 2009 , i booked profit on a scrip BPCL (Bharat Petroleum) and made around 50 percent returns from it holding it around ten months.I made similiar profits earlier investing in the scrip idea cellular.

Now my portfolio is a mixed basket.I shall share you so that if you have more wisdom you may advise me.

There was a disney show on dooradarshan tv on sundays morning during my childhood.Since we get only doordarshan during those days through our tv antenna, ofcourse it is terrestrial transmission.They were showing english cartoons dubbed in hindi.Uncle Scrooge and his three nephews with a duck face used to entertain me those days.Also micky mouse and two aviator bears were there.I have fantacised building a holiday cottage near the lakeside with a wooden platform protruding to the lake.They got an airplane tied to the platform floating in the lake.The two seater plane took Ballu the bear and his assistant, another tiny bear to the skies.Don't really remember more about this.Just have a hint that Scrooge was a miser and had a treasury filled with dollars and gold and his three menance creator nephews are the heirs.

Now back to Lion King.Lion king was released in 1994 as an animated cartoon disney movie.They promoted it via this program called DisneyWorld.I got a sticker of micky mouse from my cousin brother and i outsourced the painting of micky in a sheet of paper to my sister.She gave a neatly drawn picture.But i didn't get any prize from Disney world.The prize were some Micky Dolls.

I first saw Lion King from VHS hired from a local cassete rental shop for Rs 10.It inspired me.I think it is a good movie for the kids.More than that ,a dialogue from the movie is inspiring.

Raised in circumstances that seemed fertile landscapes for a person to become a true introvert, i became one such.In many instances of life where i smelt blood, despair and disappointment, such inspiring statements kept me walking.

New Channels at Reliance BIG TV

Today couple of channels were added on the Reliance BIG TV DTH platform.They were Warner Bros Channel (English movie and general entertainment) and Indiavision news channel (malayalam news).

When they added Colors last time ,you had to buy it seperately.Also despite TRAI's guidelines, they removed UTV Movies, but provided FILMY instead of that.Now WB can be viewed but not indiavision.Don't know whether they would take out WB later.

I have been real busy last week.I wanted a heirship certificate issued by the Tehsildar stating

that my mother owns the property of the father we lost in October.

HEiRSHIP CERTIFICATE

what is a heirship certificate?

A certificate issued by the Tehsildar who certifies that this and this person are the legal heir of the assest or money deposited in a bank account of an expired person.

How did we get this?

The local village officer should make a report saying his finding about us.Here a staff from the office helped in the format of the application.We got to write this and provide death certificate along with it.We carried id proofs of ourselves which was not needed.Again you got to provide couple of aged gentlemen who have been residing in the area and know our family for a long time.You got to give the identification proofs of these two gentlemen.

Now the village officer will sign the report and you got to give it to the Tehsildar who forwards it to the government press in Thiruvananthapuram to publish an advertisement in the government gazatte which is a boring magazine published by the government on poor quality notice paper.

Now the Tehsildar will give you a number regarding the ad.You got to go to thiruvananthapuram and meet the Government Press people and request them to publish the ad in the next government gazatte.If you do not request, it will take a long time to publish.Once it is published , the local taluk office recieves the gazatte but after a long time.So get a copy from the government press and present it at your taluk office.

Now after 30 days after publishing the ad you can approach the Tehsildar for the Heirship

Certificate.By the way the ad in the gazatte tells that our family has the legal heirship and if

anyone has any objection, they got to object it before 30 days.

Now there is a staff in the taluk office who drafts a letter in her computer and prints in a poor

quality paper and you got to get it signed by the Tehsildar and that is the damn certificate.

Why you need it?

When your father pledges gold for an agricultural loan lured by the low interest rate.So even

if you pay the money the bank won't give back the gold.They got a f**king procedure.You got to provide them death certificate, complete some forms about 15 pages and a document certified by a notary.

LETTER OF DISCLAIMER from a notary

By the way the certificate was typed on a 50 Rs non judicial stamp paper and you got to paste 60 Rs stamp .Provide necessary identification and all the legal heirs need to sign at the office of the notary.Notary is an advocate who got some powers.(i donno much about the powers and function of the notary)

CLOSING A BANK ACCOUNT CONTAINING 1100 Rs

It was an old account of my father.Since it was old nomination was not done there.So you had to provide heirship certificate.Sign a letter the bank employee prints out on a 100 Rs non judicial stamp paper you provides him.Arrange a witness to sign some where in the form.Soon money gets transferred to your account.Even if you have 10 rupees you got to go through all such time wasting f**king procedures.The account was an old one renewed to work in tandem with a new DP account my father opened at a depository.

AN AETHIST MARRIAGE

I attended this not because they are my close relatives but i didn;t know how an aethist marriage looked like.It was simple two chairs placed in the stage and the groom ties knot.No customary things like background music (nagaswaram and melam in nair marriages).But i saw pudavakoda (groom giving bride a garment) in a modified form there.And we got a card greeting the couple from the local CPM office.I am putting that here.Sorry guys for putting it online.If you didn't like the pic ,just call or mail me for removing the pic.

AN AMWAY EVENT

Those MLM guys invited me to their event.I attended it but didn't join it as i didn't like the get

rich quick mantra of pyramid schemes and network marketing.Those guys spend hours trying to convince me and sign me up in there scheme.And at last they failed like three groups who tried in 2007 and 2008.

Motorolla Mobile Phone and the fool

It is time for introspection.I found that i am one of the greatest fools present on earth.My mom's motorolla cell phone was not able to make outgoing calls.So i checked the balance every thing good there.Dialed the support number which worked fine.Reset the phone and again found unable to call.Now i thought the phone was bad.I didn;t use the part present between my two years.I plan to go to Kollam (about 60 km) to get it serviced at the motorolla authorised service.But just thought of checking it up at the local mobile store.The guy checked the balance and pointed me that the date has been expired in the account.These BSNL guys won't put a decent notice or sms when the validity of the prepaid connection gets expired.Now what i charged for one year and laughed at myself.

Note: For those laughing there, i know you had your own moments of fun.There is a fool, hero, a villian, an enthusiast, a tragedian and a comedian in every one of us even though you admit it or not.

Indians have made their opinion clear about who should rule them.Pretty clear and loud this time.The UPA is around 260 and NDA around 160 and the rest insignificant.Let me make my

political inclinations clear.I grew up seeing the congress and communist rule up my state and make a mess here.

When i was a child , i saw Rajiv Gandhi as PM.I saw my father crying when Raji was assasinated by the LTTE.During my school days , i saw the BJP emerging.Might be it was the period when we notice such things.I could appreciate Vajpayee and his policies in government, particularly the nuclear test and the economic policies.I could always appreciate the good things done by the safron brigade.But i have always been a neutral guy with no political affiliation or activity.The 2004 results was the first election results i viewed seriously.BJP suffered great setback then and was reduced to 130s.Now they are in the 110s.And congress in back in the business planning for a next 5 year term with good numbers.

I knew that this time they might not win.The people has anyway voted for a strong government and proved that people like Mulayam, Mayawati, Dev Gowda, Pawar who thinks that with 25 or 30 seats you can aspire to be Prime Minister and misuse power.People voted against the Left.

CONGRESS - RAHUL, PRIYANKA, SONIA AND MANMOHAN SINGH

The victory provides power to the foursome.Here are the things i feel won them public

support.

National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme

India's poor won't forget to thank if the government is giving him 80 Rs or 100 Rs per day.Especially in states where there is utter poverty.Do not think of the roads , cleaning of

canals or farmlands done by the scheme.But consider the money the poor people whom

otherwise won't have any opportunity to work anywhere in ultrarural villages.In comparatively developed states like Kerala , people has got some money.I am not going to discuss whether they deserve it or not.The project is good, but implementation is bad.Atleast some money is injected to the rural areas.But the systems are bad that the rats eats away the money.

Farm Waiver

Again some deserving people got benefitted.It was necessary to stop suicides.But systems are too bad.I personally know a person who got 1 crore worth property and got waivered Rs 50000 from agricultural loan.Why should he not vote for congress?

Media Friendly

Has support from all media.So you can believe people and expose the opposition

easily.Remember the tehelka episode and cash for votes scam.Why did the later tapes was not telecasted and nothing happended for the horsetrading in the trust vote over nuclear deal?Many important issues were burried under.The business charge for Israeli missile defence system did not become an issue.

The Varun episode costed BJP dearly.The safron party should understand that they need to have an all inclusive policy and face.The Kandhamal events ashames BJP sympathisers like me.I can't believe Varun Gandhi speaking about retaliatary violence against Muslims as his grandfather was also a Muslim.The Gandhi family (both sides) should stop misusing the name of Gandhi as they have nothing to do with Gandhi fooling people as if they are descendants of Mahatma Gandhi.The people of India wants the Muslims to live peacefully along with the others.It is the Hindus who want the minorities to be safe in the country.It might be true that BJP might have got votes due to Congress's appeasement policy toward the minorities.But if you are going to rule a country, you need to want all the communities.Not warning Varun Gandhi is sending a strong message to the public and

people has disapproved.

Insulting PM was really bad.Last time they insulted Sonia and she walked away with seats and this time a good PM (though powerless and nominated) and it backfired.

MODI EFFECT

Putting Modi upfront was not a bad idea considering the bad news circulated about him by the media even though he is doing a great job in building Gujarat.You can't get national acceptance unless he reach out to all community.I never have heard any words from him regarding that.He might be a good chief minister he is percieved as a villian by lots of people and depicted as a satan by the media.

It was sad that L.K. Advani had to leave on a sad note.But if you guys need to prove that you are a party with a difference and not like yet other corrupt congress.Congress is reviving due to strong leadership from Rahul Gandhi who might have good intentions about India.BJP has lost a good opportunity but it is for the good as everyone knows the infighting in the BJP.

Congress need not take people for granted and to carry on the good work what ever they have did.It is bad that the Karunanidhi (sun glass guy) will demand more ministerial berths for his family to indulge in corruption and to steal India.F##K his Setusamudram project.

BJP told in 2004 , "Next time baby".After the Ram of BJP took Vanvas ,Lakshman have been running the company although lost many business associates and top performing managers like Uma Bharti.And they lost their market share in Rajasthan where the competitor is gaining strong.The only reasons to smile was better performing chief ministers and lotus entering south india.Now that it is hearing that Lakshman is also going for Vanaprastham.Hope they learn from the mistakes and get better under some new leader.I suggest Mr. Modi can be the CM for now and he need to graduate and be open to all indians if he is aspiring to the future PM job.

Indian rupee and us dollar

indian Rupee is trading around Rs 50 for a US Dollar.But he hopes to beat the US Dollar in two years.Eventhough he sees the reality in today's forex market, he is an optimistic guy.In the past too, he had an obsession to beat the Chinese Yuan.He never managed to get even a visiting visa to Beijing.

Indian Rupee was reluctant to take a passport.His guru (rbi governor) told him that he won;t get a visa since he doesn't have a passport .And there comes a point he finds that he cannot be in tune with China.Not that it was more powerful, but since Yuan looked upon Rupee as an outsider or a traitor.This is his feeling.Communist china looked india as an enemy.Not Rupees fault........

Rupee meditated and reasoned that in international trade and business, perceptions matter than facts.

But again Indian Rupee is back, this time he is after the US Dollar.He is going to play all his tricks to it.Indian Rupee feels better when he look outside in Recessionary storms.He still have a long way to go 39 to 51 is not a good sign.He hopes to get the conversion 1:1.......

us dollar will wonder and laugh when she hears about the 1:1 conversion...She won't be able to stop laughing..But the fact of the matter is Dollar doesnot know that Indian Rupee exist.

Now astrologers (some guy predicted that crude will go to 150$ and will come back before 2008) predict that Indian Rupee will face US Dollar in the same bench.

Will Rupee be at par with Dollar?
Do you think dollar deserve a better conversion rate?
Will dollar come back to present conversion rates if such an unlikely even in the story occur?

Google says UPSC website is bad

we usually see that due lack of attention towards security issues, government websites are susceptable for hacking.Now a google search on upsc shows the presence of malware there.

And when you visit the page in google's browser, you get a warning.

UPSC is the autonomous body that does recruiting for government organisations.It conducts the civil services and engineering services examinations.So lot of people are visiting this site.if the warning is true, all those people are going to get infected .(oops it's not like swine flu.....it affects the pcs only and not the humans)
