Selenium WebDriver: Executing / Running UI Tests on a Remote Server

When do you need to run tests on remote servers -

1. When your server doesn't have web browser and your tests need web browser to run successfully, in this case you will have to move to some other server which has web browser installed or run test remotely on the server where web browser is already installed.
2. Or you want to run same test on different web browsers, which are installed on different remote servers having different Operating Systems in parallel.

There are different approaches to address above mentioned problems.

Either you can use RemoteWebDriver Server to solve first mentioned problem above (which will help you to run test on remote server) Or in both the cases you can use Selenium GRID.

Please find details below -

1. RemoteWebDriver Server

The RemoteWebDriver is composed of two pieces: a client and a server. The client is your WebDriver test and the server is simply a Java servlet, which can be hosted in any modern JEE app server. The server will always run on the machine with the browser you want to test. There are two ways to user the server: command line or configured in code.

a. Starting the Server from The Command Line

Once you have downloaded selenium-server-standalone-{VERSION}.jar place it on the computer with the browser you want to test. Then from the directory with the jar run the following

b. Once server is UP, you will see below message in your terminal window -

$ java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.47.1.jar

c. Now try to connect to this server from your test, where you will be using RemoteWebDriver.

d. There will not be any change in your test code, all the statements in your test code should remain as it is.

e. Important Note while running Remote WebDriver server

The caller is expected to terminate each session properly, calling either Selenium#stop() or WebDriver#quit.

The selenium-server keeps in-memory logs for each ongoing session, which are cleared when Selenium#stop() or WebDriver#quit is called. If you forget to terminate these sessions your server may leak memory. If you keep extremely long-running sessions you will probably need to stop/quit every now and then (or increase memory with -Xmx jvm option)

// If using WebDriver then

2. Selenium Grid

As I mentioned earlier, grid can be used if you want to do cross browser testing (and want to save time by running single tests on multiple servers at the same time), and also want to make sure your application is working fine on different Operating Systems as well.

There is no change in Client side code except that now each client can specify capabilities and based on that GRIDs assign nodes to the client to run the test.

Steps involved:

a. Start Hub running below command (this will be any server were your hub will be running)

HUB_IP = Server name / IP where Hub is running

c. Use Grid to run test from your client server (where you don't have any browser and you want to invoke test on remote server).

// We could use any driver for our tests...

capabilities.setJavascriptEnabled(true);

// Get a handle to the driver. This will throw an exception

// if a matching driver cannot be located

driver = new RemoteWebDriver(new URL("http://HUB_IP:4444/wd/hub"), capabilities);

If multiple nodes are registered to Hub then, based on client's connection inputs, HUB identifies on which nodes this test should run

For e.g. assume we have HUB running and two nodes are registered (one has Firefox/Linux and other node has Windows/Internet Explorer).

When one client invoke test with DesiredCapabilities = IE then HUB knows where this test should be running, and it assigns Node with IE browser to that client to run tests… and if DesiredCapabilities = Firefox then Hub assigns a Linux server for running test.

Repeating text within a document

Scenario: You have some text in a Word document that you’d like to repeat later in that document. You don’t want to write it twice (or more), and you’d rather not copy/paste it from the other location as that means that you’ll have to remember to maintain it in both places if there are changes. If another author takes over the document, they may not know that they have to update this text in two or more places if there are changes, either.

Solution: Bookmarks!

You assign a bookmark to the text you want to re-use, then insert a cross-reference to the bookmark text. Whenever you change the original text, you only need to update the fields in the document for the changes to apply to the second (or third) instance of that text.

Here’s how:

Select the block of text you want to repeat later in the document. This text can be a phrase, one or more paragraphs, a bulleted list, a table, etc.
Insert a bookmark for the selected text (Word 2007: Insert tab >Bookmark).
Give the bookmark a meaningful name, click Add, then click OK.
Go to the place in the document where you want to re-use the selected text.
Insert a cross-reference (Word 2007: References tab > Cross-reference).
Select Bookmark as the Reference Type, and Bookmark Text as the Insert option.
Select the bookmark name you added in Step 3, then click Insert.
Whenever you change any text in the original list, just click inside the other list, then press F9 to update it (or Ctrl+A then F9 to update ALL fields in the document).

This might be the question to many of the old Outlook user who is still using Outlook 2007 version or older, that how to directly convert mail into a meeting request.

Recently due to company change, I moved from 2013 version to 2007, and for some reason I wanted to convert my mail into a meeting request but even after doing some research I didn't find any option on Outlook 2007 GUI but there is a small trick to convert mail into meeting request in Outlook 2007..

Quick tip to save time converting e-mail messages to meeting requests:

In Outlook 2007, Drag an e-mail message to the Date Navigator (the small calendar in the To-Do Bar).
A Meeting Request opens with the Subject line filled in and the e-mail message in the body.
Add more details to the meeting, and then click Invite Attendees, & send meeting request!

How to setup Selenium WebDriver with TestNG, JUnit, Maven & ReportNG in Eclipse

I have seen this question posted in many forums "How to setup Selenium WebDriver with TestNG" or just "How to setup Selenium WebDriver in Eclipse", and I have also seen many good articles suggesting step by step information on how to setup Selenium 2.0 (WebDriver) with Eclipse but never seen some directly providing Java project with all the details.

I have tried creating one simple setup which includes Eclipse and with Selenium 2.0 WebDriver Java project. Java project has following plug-ins installed, you can use them as per your requirements in your test automation project.

Zip includes following:

Eclipse IDE for Java and DSL Developers - Downloaded it from eclipse.org, and it has following plugins already added.

Maven
TestNG 6.1.

Java project with following libs added in Maven pom.xml

Selenium 2.0 (Java WebDriver) 2.44.0
JUnit 3.8.1
ReportNG 1.1.4
Guice 3.0

If you want to use some other eclipse version and if you want similar setup for that eclipse version then please let me know, I will be very happy to provide / build setup for you.

To Download SeleniumWebDriver_With_Eclipse.zip with all above mentioned plug-ins & Java Project, please click on below image.

You have two options, If you don't have eclipse already on your computer then just unzip the eclipse and when you will open eclipse by clicking on "../eclipse/eclipse.exe" file, it will ask you to provide workspace: You can provide the directory path where you have extracted the above zip file.

If you look at the below scheen shot, I have extracted zip file under "C:\diiinnovation", and in this case I would provide same "C:\diiinnovation" as my eclipse workspace.

Once you provide Workspace, and when eclipse opens, you will see java project as shown below:

You might have to change few things in eclipse like JRE version of Java project. Above setup created using JRE 1.8 version, if your computer doesn't have JRE 1.8 installed then after installing above setup, you have to change JRE version which is already present in your computer for the selenium default project.

Refer "How to change JRE version of your Java project in Eclipse" post for more details.

If you are planning to use TestNG, then by default TestNG reporting is enabled.

If you are planning to use ReportNG then please refer "How to use ReportNG with TestNG for HTML Reporting" post (point # B, C & D)

One more thing, in above default Java project you will see libraries used with some specified version, if you want to use other version than mentioned above (may be latest available) then you just have to open "pom.xml" file present in the Java project and just update the library version... your project will get updated automatically with new/latest libs.

How to change JRE version of your Java project in Eclipse

1. Open Eclipse and right click on your Java project, select "Properties"

2. Select "Java Build Path" and go to the "Libraries" tab as shown below.

3. Select the already available JRE library and click on "Edit" button present on right side. You will see one more new windows called "Edit Library" as shown below.

4. Here you have two options, either select any other available environment from the dropdown or if jre is not listed in the above dropdown and if you know that it is already installed in your computer then you can configure new JRE for your project by clicking on "Installed JREs..." button.

When you click on "Installed JREs..." button, you will see following window.

5. Click on "Next >" button on above window and on next windows, provide where JDK / JRE is installed by clicking on "Directory..." button (Assume that you don't have JRE 1.8 installed and you want to select JDK 1.7), Click 'OK' button and at the end click on "Finish" button.

6. Select the checkbox next to newly installed/configured JRE as shown in below screenshot and click "OK" button.

7. Last step is to select newly added JRE, from the dropdown as shown below and click on Finish...

All done, now hopefully all JRE related errors will go out from the your java project.

WebDriver is not able to find out WebElement present on Web Application

Recently came across one of the problem and I think it would be helpful to everyone if I share the details.

Problem Statement: WebDriver was not able to find out WebElement

I was using Firefox WebDriver, and in one of my test WebDriver was not able to find out Link / Image / Button for some reason.

HTML page Code look like below: I want to click on "New" link/image.

But when I use below code in my test, it didn't work... I tried following -

driver.findElement(By.cssSelector("span.toollisttext")).click();
driver.findElement(By.className("toollisttext")).click();
driver.findElement(By.xpath("//a/span[@class='toollisttext']")).click();
driver.findElement(By.xpath("css=span.toollisttext")).click();

I also tried using hyper links:
driver.findElement(By.id("btnNewDash")).click();
driver.findElement(By.cssSelector("a#btnNewDash")).click();

None of the above mentioned options worked.

I was not able to figure out the problem... but then one of my friend realized that the particular link was actually under iFrame and if any webElement is in iFrame, we have to first focus the iFrame and then only we can perform actions on any WebElements present in iFrame.

We changed the code and it started working.

// switch your focus to iFrame first
driver.switchTo().frame(driver.findElement(By.xpath("//*[@id='Framework_Business_0']/iframe")));
// click on Webelement present in iFrame
driver.findElement(By.xpath("//*[@id='btnNewDash']")).click();

Solutions / Debug :

Find out first whether you are using correct locator, whether its ID, Name, CSS or ClassName is correct
If it is correct then check if problem is because of page loading.. like WebDriver can't find out WebElement if page is still loading. If this is the case then perform WaitOnPageLoad operation or Wait till that web element is visible on page and then perform operation on that WebElement.
Sometime few web element gets populated on run time, check if that is not the case. If that is the case then first perform operation on web by which that dynamic web element will get visible.
If you tried all above options and still it is not working then check if that web element is in iFrame or not. It that web element is in iFrame then first you have to focus iFrame and then only you can able to click on Web elements present in that iFrame.

In our case, it was failing because of the reason mentioned in 4th point above.

How to use ReportNG with TestNG for HTML Reporting

ReportNG is Open Source software, free to download and use subject to the terms of the Apache Software Licence, Version 2.0.

ReportNG is a simple HTML reporting plug-in for the TestNGunit-testing framework. It is intended as a replacement for the default TestNG HTML report. The default report is comprehensive but is not so easy to understand at-a-glance. ReportNG provides a simple, colour-coded view of the test results.

ReportNG generates 100% valid XHTML 1.0 files. The output can be customised by over-riding the default stylesheet with your own CSS file.

In this article we will learn how to integrate ReportNG with TestNG.

A. Before we start integrating ReportNG you will need three libraries as follows.

reportng-1.1.4.jar
velocity-dep-1.4.jar
guice-3.0.jar

You have two options -

Either download above three libraries and add manually to your class-path (in your eclipse or whatever IDE you will be using for your testing).
Or add dependencies in Maven "pom.xml" file as shown below and build the project. I am not going to explain how maven works... I am assuming that whoever will be using 2nd option would know maven (this is the recommend option).

B. Next important step is to set the listeners attribute of the testng element. The class names for the ReportNG reporters are:

org.uncommons.reportng.JUnitXMLReporter

In your testng.xml file, please add following lines as shown in below screenshot.

    <listeners>
          <listener class-name="org.uncommons.reportng.HTMLReporter" />
          <listener class-name="org.uncommons.reportng.JUnitXMLReporter" />
    </listeners>

Final testng.xml will look like below -

C. Next important step is to disable default TestNG report listeners by setting the `useDefaultListeners` attribute to "false"so that when you will run test next time, it will not generate default testng report.

You can also disable default listeners from eclipse. Steps are mentioned below -

In your project, right click and select "Properties"
Click on TestNG from left side options.
You will find a checkbox called "Disable default listeners", select that check box
Specify the report folder name (otherwise default Report folder name will be "test-output".
Save changes by clicking on "Apply" button.

D. Now when you will run test, you will find one new folder under above "Report" directory called "html" which will have your final ReportNG html report as shown below.

Q. How to disable Auto save forms in Microsoft's Dynamics CRM 2013?

Recently we have upgraded from Microsoft Dynamics CRM from 2011 to 2013 and first think that I have observed (apart from it's GUI redesign) about the form is, auto save functionality got added in 2013 DCRM and I didn't like it because it unnecessary saves the half filled form which intern makes unnecessary API calls to all other systems (if it is integrated with any other 3rd party or any other product module using Soap) which are going to fail as all the details present on the form is not complete.

I think many of you have also faced similar problem and also must have tried disabling it. Disabling Auto save is very simple.

1. Navigate to "Settings" menu from main "Microsoft Dynamics CRM" menu as shown in below screenshot.

2. Now click on "Administrator" sub menu present under "Settings" menu as shown in below screenshot.

3. Click on "System Settings" link, one new dialog will popup as shown below, and there on it you will see first option where we can enable / disable Auto save option.

After above changes, make sure to perform IIS resent and you are all done.

I think you are aware that once you disable / enable above options, it is applicable all forms present in that Organization.

Add Google search box to Navigation / Menu or at Page Widget in Blogger

I think everyone who wants to customize their blogs or want to design their blog templates, this tutorial would be helpful. In this tutorial I am going to show you how to add custom search box in Navigation / Menu Bar of your blogger template or at Page Widget as shown in below image.

1. First of all you need Custom Search Code/script similar to google search as shown below which you will get it from AdSense account. If you don't have adsense account, don't worry still you can add Google Custom search box. When you copy Search Box Code from your AdSense account, it will look like below.

As I mentioned before, those who don't have AdSense account can simply remove highlighted line and use it as it is in your blog.
2. Once you have custom search box script/code. Next task is to edit Blog Template. Before you make any changes to your original template, it is recommended to take backup of your template. (To Backup existing Template: Go to your Blog "Settings" > "Other" > Under Blog tools select "Import Blog").

3. Now go to "Settings" > "Template" and Click on "Edit HTML" button.

4. You can now jump to "PageList" Widget directly or Search for "PageList" in HTML code and you will see something similar as shown in below screenshot.

5. Expand the Widget tag and you will see something similar (Note, if Blog is not enabled for Mobile then you won't see Mobile section like below).

6. Replace Custom Search Code and save the template changes.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Error: Sandbox Host - Access Denied.

Have you guys got this error in Event Viewer of Microsoft Dynamics CRM server anytime while accessing Microsoft Dynamics CRM or while performing operations on DCRM?

I recently got this error when I was trying to perform some operation and could not able to complete that operation. That was because the user I was logged into DCRM didn't have logon permission in the Local Security Policy.

Here are the steps which you have to follow to resolve the issue.

In "Local Security Policies" added your DCRM user () under "Log-on as service".
From elevated command prompt execute following command: "SETSPN -a MSCRMSandboxService/ \" (the required SPN was not present earlier)
Reset CRMAppPool Application pool to restart the DCRM web-services.
Changed the "Log On As" for "Microsoft Dynamic CRM Sandbox Processing Service" to “\” (It should not be "Network Service". I guess by default it is Network Service).
Re-start the service
Add in web.config of CRM Web Site.. this is to get more details about the problem if this is still continuing.

Not able to download/open large size files from sharepoint (Sharepoint download Interrupted)?

I am not sure if you guys have ever experienced or currently experiencing problem downloading large files from SharePoint. Recently I faced same problem and found one simple solution to this problem.

Please follow simple steps on your computer to resolve this issue.

1. Open a Command prompt window as Administrator on a computer where you are trying to download large files from SharePoint.

2. Type and run following command.

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

3. Now try the downloading same large file again. Now you should be able to download/open file successfully.

How to run Command prompt always as Administrator in Windows

Q. How to run Command prompt always as Administrator in Windows?

Recently while working on one of the assignment on Windows server, I used to run command prompt always as Administrator. Every time I was following same old steps (i.e. Right click on command prompt short cut, then select "Run as Administrator" option). I didn't like it and then decided to find better option.

I tried couple of options and found one solution. Using it now whenever I run command prompt on my server it always runs as Administrator.

There might be many other options or solution to solve this problem but I found this one very simple and effective.

Steps to run Command Prompt always as Administrator are as follow:

1. Right click on the Command prompt shortcut and select "Properties" from the menu.

2. Go to "Shortcut Tab and click on "Advanced..." button

3. Under "Advanced Properties" dialog box, select "Run as administrator" check box and click on OK button of each opened windows/dialog box.

Now whenever you will run command prompt, it will always "Run as Administrator".

Fingerprint Logon for Domain Users

Q. How to enable Fingerprint reader for Domain Users?

Today I enabled Fingerprint Reader for my Lenovo T430s laptop, after enrolling my fingers for the logon when I tried login to my laptop using one of my enrolled finger, It didn't work.. and I got below error message.

Error message dialog box:

Error message clearly says that for Domain Users we have to enable configuration in Biometric Device, and for that please follow below instruction.

1. Go to Control panel of your windows OS, and double click on "Biometric Devices" as shown in below screenshot.

2. Click on "Change biometric settings" link which is on the left side of the windows (shown in below screenshot).

3. You will see new dialog box as shown in below screenshot. Select highlighted check box "Allow users to log on to a domain using their fingerprints" and then click "Save Changes" button.

Here you go.. Now domain users should be able to login using registered Fingerprints.

Q. Why I can not drag cell contents in Excel sheet?

I have come across with similar problem many times in the past and for some reason I can't remember how to solve this problem. This time when I was working on data creation using Excel, the same problem occurs.

I tried searching on the web but didn't find even a single site where there is a reason mentioned clearly about why all of a sudden this happens.

Why this option gets disabled automatically in excel sheet ? Anyone of you know the reason this WHY then please share it...!

If you have Office >= 20then goes go to "File" tab the Excel sheet.

Select "Options" tab from left bar.

Current key (KeyType : CrmWRPCTokenKey) is expired. This can indicate that a key is not being regenerated correctly.

When we try to access any of the available DCRM organization on DCRM 2011, and if you see any of the below errors indicate that a key is not being regenerated correctly.

Error message in Event Logs: Current key (KeyType : CrmWRPCTokenKey) is expired. This can indicate that a key is not being regenerated correctly.

Error message while accessing Microsoft Dynamics CRM GUI:

Solution:
1. Start “Microsoft CRM Asynchronous Processing Service” if not running already.
Go to Windows server (where DCRM is installed) Start Menu > Run ; Type services.msc)

2. Run below command from the command prompt with /R parameter from “Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Tools” folder (default path : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Tools)

Command:

How to Enable Hibernate option in Windows 8

Well, windows 8 boots so fast that we don't need Hibernate option but yes when you want to keep your all files opened while you are working so you can resume your work when you login next time then yes you need Hibernate option.

I think Hibernate option doesn't come by default with Windows 8, and we will have to enable it manually. This is the same question everyone new Windows 8 user has, I was one of them and so including this steps for everyone who will be and who want to use Windows 8 with Hibernate option enabled.

1. Go to Power Options page as shown below.

There are different ways to go to that page, simple method is from Windows 8 StartBar > Click on Battery icon and select More Power options as shown in below screenshot.

2. Select any one of the options except "Require a password on wakeup" present on the left side of the bar of Power Options page.

I have selected 2nd option - "Choose what the power buttons do"

You will see similar page below.. where you can see at the bottom of the page we have Hibernate option available but not selected.

3. Enable Hibernate option, first click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" which will make that option editable so you can Enable that checkbox.

4. Save changes and now you will see new Option Added to your Power Menu.

During the development of my one of the projects I wanted to hide Firefox web browser window.

I was using HtmlUnitDriver to automate something but using it we cannot hide any web browser window, i did some research and some across one very good tool called AutoIt , It has all the capability to handle windows.

We can perform all kinds of operations using AutoIt.

Let me tell you how we can implement utility which can help us to Hide and again show any application window. Please follow below steps one by one.

Remove Babylon Search which appears when we start Firefox

Q. How to remove Babylon Search which appears whenever I start Firefox?

Many of us face this problem, and then whenever we open Firefox/new Tab in firefox this Babylon search page appears.

Babylon Search:

At the end of this post you will be able to remove and restore your default search engine.

Follow below simple steps.

In Firefox URL, type about:config and hit Enter. It will show you one warning message, just click on "I'll be careful, I promise!" button.

In the filter at the top, type: keyword.URL. You will see page like below.

Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=

Babylon not just modify keyword.URL but also add itself to more than one places. Therefore, after modifying keyword.URL, search for "babylon" again and Modify and then Reset.

You need to Restart Firefox after the config changes.

Q. How to take entire oracle schema backup in UNIX using terminal?

There are very few simple steps to take entire db schema backup.

1. Create one physical directory in your Unix node where you want to take backup.

mkdir /tmp/my_backup_dir

Give read/write/execute permission to this directory.

chmod 777 my_backup_dir

2. Now map this physical directory to one logical directory of oracle. For this step you have to login to the sqlplus terminal with DB admin access.

CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY logical_dir as '/tmp/my_backup_dir';

3. Now its time to start backup of your schema. Come out of the sqlplus terminal and execute below command with all correct parameters.

expdp username/password DIRECTORY=logical_dir DUMPFILE=exp_table.dmp LOGFILE=exp_table.log SCHEMAS=your_db_schema_name

This will export all tables under that schema. exp_table.dmp file will be stored in '/tmp/my_backup_dir' directory of Unix node.

In .net we have special namespace called System.Net.Mail. It contains classes used to send electronic mail to a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server for delivery.

There are three main classes under this namespace.
MailMessage: This class represents the content of a mail message.
SmtpClient: This helps us to transmit emails to the SMTP host (Server) that we specify
Attachment: We all know what is attachment is, this class helps us to create mail attachments.

There are many methods and properties under these three classes.

In below post, I will be explaining you a simple and basic methods which we can use to send mails. Of-course later on if you want you can add some more advanced features to it.

1. We have to import below namespace first.

2. Create an object of SmtpClient class

3. Create an object of MailMessage class and using it we will be adding From, To, CC, Bcc, Subject, Mail Body and Attachments.

Please refer below statements one by one.

4. We can attach multiple files with the mail. For that you have to first create attachment object specifying file full path and then use same attachment object with mail.

Dim attachement As New System.Net.Mail.Attachment("C:\tmp\Attachment_file.txt")
mail.Attachments.Add(attachement)

5. Few more options available like we can also set priority of mail and also we can send mail as HTML or RichText.

6. Finally, after everything is done, we just have to use same mail object which we have used to create Mail Messages to send mail.

Tiger's Desktop Stock Ticker Pro 6.0

I have developed one more version of Stock Ticker where you can view more than one stocks details at the same time on same window.

It's main window looks like below when it is not started.

It has following menus.

In this Ticker you can view as many stocks information as you want. There is no restriction at all.

You can save your stock symbols as a file and later you can open the same which will save you to remember the Stock Symbol or to save you for searching them again.

To view the real time stock price from Google Finance site or from ICICI Direct site so that you don't have to remember stock symbols or no need to type in all stock code again. So File menu will help you to same stock symbol in a file.

Using Edit menu you can search stock symbols.When you select "Search Symbol" menu option you will see below small window.

On "Find Symbol" you just have to type name of the company and it will list you all related stock from Google Finance and ICICI Direct site which you will see in the next dialog box "Symbol(s) Search Result!!

There is one limitation on this search is that, it only displays NSE Stock symbols from ICICI Direct site. That means this "Tiger's Desktop Stock Ticker Pro 6.0" only displays NSE stock information from ICICI Direct site but from Google Finance we can see all stocks exchange stock information.

Using Ticker Menu you can start and stop ticker to display real time stock information. Once Ticker is started you cannot modify your stock list. To remove or add more Stock into the list you have to first stop Stock Ticker.

You have to Copy the symbol from search window and use it in the main window.

Symbol always show you real time information from Google Finance and ICICI Direct site. Soon you will find link from where you can download "Tiger's Desktop Stock Ticker Pro 6.0".

QTP Utility To Monitor IE (Internet Explorer)

When you guys run any QTP Test script for any Web Application and what if you forgot to configure "Run Settings" of QTP (Quick Test Professional) shown in the below screen shot.

When we set this above option, it will open new Internet Explorer for your test script with specified URL Page and also we do specify "about:blank" if we just want to open IE with blank page at the start of test.

But now what if you forgot to specify this setting in your each QTP Scripts?

It happens many times with me and my friends with few automated QTP scripts when we have deadlines to complete Automation scripts. This is normal but when we run all those scripts in a batch mode, at the end of the Test Batch run we observed some of the failures due to "Internet Explorer Page didn't Open at the start of the Script". So we have to rerun those all failed scripts again which consume some time for running and analyzing the QTP script results.

To Solve this problem I have developed one small utility Called MonitoringIE and this is how it looks like when we run it.

This utility, you have to call it at the start of each script when you want to open new IE.

Specialty of MonitoringIE is, it not just simply open the Internet Explorer while calling it but before it will perform any action following things it will check one-by-one.

1. It checks if any other Internet Explorer page/pages is/are opened or not
2. If already opened more than one, then it will close all keeping one Instance Of Internet Explorer opened.
3. If opened just one then it will simply exit (and your QTP script will use that Opened IE instance for Testing)
4. If it does not find any Internet Explorer opened then It will open one for your script

You will have to Put company Name in the Textfield where "ENTER COMPANY NAME" Text field avilable and click non "Find Symbol" Button.

Now here by single text search, this ticker will find out all the matching Companies and their Symbols from "Google finance" and "ICICI Direct" site.

You can see in the below image how your search result window will look like. It will be with Two tabs, one for Google finance search Result and anoter is with ICICI Direct search result.

To select any Symbol, navigate to the any one of these two tabs and click on the button with "#" marked.

The company Name and Symbol will be automatically reflected to the Main Ticker Window and you just need to Click on "Show Stock Quote" Button. All other functionalities will remains same as old version. Keep on visiting or subscriber to this site for the updates.

Many people like you must be looking for a Good Desktop widgets which can help them in their daily life. I am one of them. I do Stock trading everyday and for me keeping an eye on those stock is very important and I think for others who do trading everyday would also be interested to get the widget that can fulfill their need.

I tried searching on Google for a Good and small Desktop Stock widget which can be used to view any Stock Quote now whether that it a Indian or American or any other company stock listed in their different Stock Exchanges - I found few of them but all with some limitation.. Like one support only stocks which are listed in NSE/BSE/NASDQ. I didn't find any Ticker which can be use to view such a stocks listed in different - different stock exchanges.

So then at last, I decided to develop one such s Stock Ticker which can be use to see any Stocks listed anywhere in the world.

Google finance is a site where we can get worlds all stocks information but for that we have to open a site again and again which does not look good when you are seating in the office, and for this we should have a small ticker which can give you all minimal information about the Stocks.

I have tried my best to implement this Ticker.

From below two websites you can get the Live Stock Quote updated.
- ICICI Direct (this can be use for NSE/BSE India Exchange)
- Google Finance (this can be use for any Stock Exchange)

How to change JRE version of your Java project in Eclipse

1. Open Eclipse and right click on your Java project, select "Properties"

2. Select "Java Build Path" and go to the "Libraries" tab as shown below.

3. Select the already available JRE library and click on "Edit" button present on right side. You will see one more new windows called "Edit Library" as shown below.

4. Here you have two options, either select any other available environment from the dropdown or if jre is not listed in the above dropdown and if you know that it is already installed in your computer then you can configure new JRE for your project by clicking on "Installed JREs..." button.

When you click on "Installed JREs..." button, you will see following window.

5. Click on "Next >" button on above window and on next windows, provide where JDK / JRE is installed by clicking on "Directory..." button (Assume that you don't have JRE 1.8 installed and you want to select JDK 1.7), Click 'OK' button and at the end click on "Finish" button.

6. Select the checkbox next to newly installed/configured JRE as shown in below screenshot and click "OK" button.

7. Last step is to select newly added JRE, from the dropdown as shown below and click on Finish...

All done, now hopefully all JRE related errors will go out from the your java project.
