It has been learnt that China has blocked search for Egypt word on one of its ever-growing micro blogging site Sina , Sina is considered as clone of Twitter in China .

Although , PCWorld has said that only the Chinese version of 'Egypt' is blocked though, and the English version returns results.

Using search engines, listening to music, and reading news were the top three most popular activities for Web users in the Chine . Baidu was most popular Search Engine after the ban on Google .Micro-blogging is done by 13.8 percent of Chinese Internet users, while group buying is at 4.1 percent.
While growth has slowed, more than half the population is still not online.

In a latest survey comscore has come up with the latest statistics and news seems to be good for Microsoft led search engine 'Bing' , it has gained considerably in last few month while Yahoo based Search engine share has declined few percent.

All this has happened when Yahoo and microsoft integrated there search technology. As per latest stats available from comscore yahoo share was showing at 16 percent while Bing share was 12 percent , note these figures are relative to there last levels.

Another figures shows from King of Search Engine Google with 66.6 percent , this happened while Baidu a China based Search Engine gained grounds after extinction of Google from China.

I hope everyone using Internet should be aware of Google Search and must be searching now & then , landing with some results.

Now, generally most of the us are not aware of different search options available from Google . In today's post let me walk you through some of the advanced features that can assist you in Quick and Accurate search.

Search is always Case sensitive .
Most of the times punctuation are excluded while searching like @#$%^&*()=+[]\ and other special characters.
To Search within some particular website

Google can assist you to search within some specific site which you are interested in .The query can be [words: site name ]Example is [ digitally ulterior:www.linkedin.com ] will give search within linked in site for top results . In same way [ technology:cnn.com ] will give top result within cnn site only.

Thus you can limit your search within specific site.

Exclusion of words in Search

Google provides you facility to exclude some words in search query the notation should be query followed by space and minus sign with word to be excluded [query minus{word}] for example [ nuclear weapons USA ] will give results related to nuclear weapons and USA but if you search for[ nuclear weapons -USA ] will give top results excluding USA.

Also, as many words can be excluded you like from query just precede it with minus sign.

Wild Card search

Wild card search can be useful for a particular query in case some words are unknown or lot many word are there in between two words. Need to use * between words for wild card notation.
Example - [ nuclear * Technology ] will give you results for all the word occurring between nuclear and Technology

OR Operator

If you want to search for one of the two words mentioned in query and not combination should go for OR operator for example -
[windows XP OR NT ] will provide results for either Windows XP or Windows NT but if you just go with [windows XP NT] the result set may include search having combination of XP and NT both

- Exact search using + operator

You can search exact words using + operator or using double quotes "" .

Yesterday, came across very interesting tool from Google known as Google Desktop Search . Although it has been there for quite some time but somehow I have never used the same.

Google Desktop is desktop search software made by Google for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows, the program allows text searches of a user's e-mails, computer files, music, photos, chats, Web pages viewed. Google Desktop makes searching the computer as you are search web with any key word . It's a application that will provides full text search over users email, files, music, photos, chats, Gmail etc.

By making the computer searchable, Desktop puts the information easily within one's reach & make your life easy from having to manually organize your files, emails and bookmarks.

There is news coming along that Google is making foray into cashless payout services. This will be based on Near Field communication technology (NFC).

NFC is a short range wireless technology that allows you transmit data to near objects. Thus, in this case Google user will able to flap there Android based phone against Techno cash register at the checkout counter and would result in payment process completed.

It is assumed that NFC transaction will account for more than 1/3 of $1.2 trillion global mobile transaction projected till 2014.

VIZIO, America’s #1 LCD HDTV Company is adding up its ongoing product range by foray into mobile category through launching of Tablet PC named as Via Tablet featuring unified, sophisticated and intuitive user experience. As per newsPress release from Vizio Via tablet will feature the highest performance coupled with innovative features that tie them into the media consumption experience.

The VIZIO VIA features a 1 GHz processor, with an 8” high-resolution capacitive touch screen, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, a MicroSD card slot for additional memory expansion, HDMI output with HD video playback, and a front-facing camera for video chats.

It also boasts a unique three-speaker design for stereo audio in both portrait and landscape modes.

Devices include a built-in IR blaster with universal remote control app for quick access to the entire home theater or nearly any other CE device in the home.

This will run on the Android™ Platform, which will also allow users to access thousands of apps through Android Market™.
VIZIO will be demonstrating the VIA Phone and VIA Tablet in their private CES showcase at the Wynn Hotel from January 6 to 9, 2011.

This is confirmed as per one of the tweet from Facebook marketing director Randi Zuckerberg and other Tech sites . It seems Facebook is now strengthening its position and it might be arduous task for any other social sites to break these type of records. As I have been mentioning Cloud computing is coming along in big way in 2011 and so Social Networking is also to be watched this year.
