                    <title>Execute already Gosh Dangit!</title>

But, in typical Dillinger &amp;amp; Kovach fashion, we found a 1/2 hour to squeeze in our own marketing. We fired up the cameras, wrote a script in about 2 minutes, didn't spell check it, (later found out there were misspellings), threw the video and newsletter together and sent it out the door to over 8000 recipients carefully scrubbed by our research team.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In our marketing message we offered 8 packages containing a ton of marketing materials for a fair fee. We explained to our audience that there were only 8 slots available, due to resources, and that they would go fast. And boy did they. By Thursday, all 8 were gone... contracts were signed and we were doing business with 8 fantastic new companies in 4 days. Life is good.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Then I got a call from one of my clients explaining that they were getting concerned about the fact that they weren't signing any new deals. I had to step back and reflect. Initially I took it personally as if we weren't fulfilling our obligation. But after reverse engineering the last few months and reflecting on the relationship with this client, it hit me... THEY NEVER EXECUTE!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We have moved their logo from the left to the right on a brochure 85 times.. they have overridden our suggestions nearly 100% of the time and they have agonized over every period on their website to the point where they didn't know if the sentence ended or kept going.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After that, they second guess if the picture used for clerical should be a man or a woman or vice versa and if there are enough blacks, browns and yellows in the picture. Ugghhh... it's mind numbing...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
At DK, we understand the desire to be perfect. We all want to be polished and perfect. There is but one problem with that.. you'll never be perfect. The only perfect person was Jesus... and the only perfect marketing plan has yet to arrive from the clouds descending upon mankind in all of its glory.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So now months have passed and this company has moved it's logo from left to right, not signing on any new business.. Meanwhile DK is signing on clients 2 times a day with imperfect, but effective marketing.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Moral of the story... quit looking so closely at your stuff and execute. It is better to execute a good, but flawed marketing campaign than it is to not execute a near-perfect marketing campaign. Activity breeds success. Steady wins the race. Visibility creates demand and impressions burn into the brain.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Does all of this mean you should settle for crap? Of course not. You should take pride in your company an its image. But for Pete's freakin' sake.. send something out the door... execute.. deliver, speak, say something, offer something, DO SOMETHING..&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
One final note.. I don't like the video on my website. Why? Because it's old.. I keep forgetting to change it to the current Marketing Minute. The one that is on there is from a few months back and is outdated.. But I'm glad I didn't wait to send out our newsletter offer due to the fact that my site wasn't perfect... had I done so I wouldn't have the 8 awesome new clients that I have today...&lt;br /&gt;
