“We’ll return to the youkai mountain. I do not know where you came from, but if you’re a crow tengu, you can live at the place of the holy priest. The holy priest is a bit haughty, but he’s a good natured man. Afternoon. As initially assumed, the negotiation progressed smoothly.

It seemed the adventurers could also more or less predicted the common ground for discussion. First, concerning the return to the Old Continent. This was easily settled under the condition of handing over Wogan’s person. The place Rezbon and the others used as their base was Zelneus, one of the 3 adventurer self-governing territories on the continent. It located northwest of Werneus Kingdom which was their original destination. This was also convenient for Kyousuke and the others.

According to Rezbon, a high-speed magic vessel the adventurer guild prepared would arrived at this New Continent within the next 3 days. It also meant that joining up with Karasuma or Kumosaki group who seemed to be captured by the blood clan, would have to be done before then.
Concerning the cooperation in this search, they disapproved as expected. The Time World Desert was vast, it wouldn’t be easy to search for merely 2 or 3 monsters. In addition, in the desert lived powerful wild monsters such as lesser demons, as well as the possibility of stirring things up with the blood clan.

“Speaking of which, the blood clan asked you to cooperate, what becomes of that?”
“We keep delaying our response. They haven’t come urging us either.”

The next morning, Utsurogi Kyousuke and the others were heading to the negotiation with the adventurers.
They properly let Wogan have breakfast, for now, they bound his arms and gagged him to keep him from using magic, but looking at how pitiful he became, they decided to untie him. Instead, they deployed a formation so that Inugami could immediately spring at him and Yukinoshita could freeze him to dust if he was to make any strange move, then they headed to the negotiation place like that.
The magic Wogan specialized in was mainly ones dealing with lightning, other than that were ice and wind. It seemed he wasn’t too good at fire magic which was fatal to Yukinoshita and Rin.

“Wogan-san, is the magic human uses different from the ones we use?”
“It’s different. Monsters that can use magic, in most case, use magic via a connection with spirits they innately had high affinity with. It’s a kind of spirit magic.”

While heading to their destination, Wogan answered Azuki’s question.

“Spirit magic can only be used by races with high affinity with spirits. Us humans can’t use it.”
“I think elf can use it, can’t they?”
“Nowadays, elf is accepted as a comrade of humanity, but until 200 years ago, they had been persecuted as a monster species. The same for Dwarf. They had high affinity with earth and fire spirits, they can use spirit magic.”

Depart northward from town, cross over the mountain and further pass through the great grassland, one finally can reach the Time World Desert. While gazing at the origin of the Time World Desert’s materials — the many crumbling magic weaponry — during her journey, the ‘girl’ finally arrived at her destination.
She had come all this way to the northwestern part of the Time World Desert in order to negotiate with a certain clan — the blood clan. Indeed, it had been 200 years since she last met them. In the other world, only 70-80 years should have passed, but thanks to that ‘she’ had aged considerably.

This land Seria — which seemed to be called the ‘New Continent’ by the people of the center continent — had a unique civilization.
But, only a limited few knew of it. Adventurers came from the center continent who recognized its existence, naturally didn’t exist. That knowledge certainly belonged to only a very small fraction of those related to the imperial family of the Central Empire, and then the blood clan.
She, as the representative of Seria where those diverse and unusual culture melded together, had come to negotiate. The blood clan should more or less grasp the circumstance of Seria, so the common point of the discussion was visible to both sides. In short, they should just maintain mutual non-interference.

The leader of the adventurer party, Rezbon Balruk said before the 3 other members.
By 3, it meant Filhana Grandburner, Rein and Wombat. Rein, who had suffered a serious wound in the battle with the lesser demon, had recovered somewhat, she would be able to present at tomorrow negotiation.

Their sub-leader, Wogan had been captured by Utsurogi party, it had been a few days since they heard that. It was the result of Wombat arbitrary action, but Rezbon didn’t have enough energy to flare up at him. So said Kyousuke as he presented a meal to the magician Wogan.

Today’s lunch was poison-removed mushrooms and rabbit meat sauté. Compared to when they first washed ashore, it was very extravagant. Yukinoshita who was in charged of cooking today, was washing the tablewares together with Azuki in a place a bit away.
By the way, the iron plate used for cooking was made with Kabeno’s ability. Her ability couldn’t make something dented, so they couldn’t really make any kind of stews. As for the buckets Azuki created, they were made of wood so they couldn’t put them over fire. At best, they would be able to make steam cooking.

Wogan, as expected, had been locked up in an improvised room made with Kabeno’s ability. He was a magician so they might still eat a counter attack at the degree of making only a wall, but he was surprisingly obedient. He was making a bitter face the whole time, so leaving aside Inugami, it might not have been his true intent to attack Kabeno and Azuki.
But even then, the fact was that they broke the promise and endangered the life of Kyousuke’s comrades. Right after convening with Rin and the others, Kyousuke, Hakuba and Yukinoshita were surprised to hear their story, to the point of almost falling upside down, at the same time, they also felt anger. Two adventurers encountered monsters during their search in the western woodland.
It wasn’t mere monsters but monsters endemic to the New Continent called the Sands of Shura or ayakashi. Just by capturing and palming them off to the guild headquarter or the Rare Organism Scrivener Team, they could fetch a considerably good price. The adventurer party Wombat belonged to should have come to do that to begin with.
He had made bleeding efforts in order to become a gold rank. Adventurer work isn’t necessary something you can continue for long. In fact, Rezbon did lost his arm in this New Continent.

That’s why, he would make big profits here and save up.

Wombat thrust his knife before the azuki-arai who seemed to be the ayakashi with the lowest fighting strength and seized her body. After that, they could just restrain her and escape for a bit. Simple, no?
It is often said that ayakashi had many monsters with appearance closed to human or advanced intelligence. But monster is monster. It’s a living being different from human. Even elves were treated the same until 200 years ago.

That scorched the sand, the imps were blinded and started crashing down.
The snow woman who supported that fireball was definitely Yukinoshita Suzuka. Kyousuke was dangerously about to be charmed. He hurriedly tried to evacuate, but the Wight King wouldn’t allow it. As he turned his back, Kyousuke understood that a barbaric blade was swung down toward him.

“Growl! My! One trillioon! Twoooo milliooonn degreeeeee!!”
