Anyhoo, a year or two or so ago (hey that rhymed!), I became quite overwhelmed with it all. That combined with getting completely fed up with one forum altogether (yea Pete, that one), led me to abandon them completely…

…well, it’s time to go back. For the most part, they were good to me, and there’s no place like ‘em for helping others. This time though, I will do it right. One or two Internet marketing forums, one or two affiliate marketing forums, and a bunch of direct sales forums, since that is my main bread and butter as it were.

I believe I have internet marketing forums covered and DS forums will take some time to research; this post here and now is asking for your recommendations for your favorite/the best affiliate marketing forums out there.

Read that part again.

Please help me to truly thank Wanda & Paula, 2 friends that successfully operate the Affiliate Blog Online, as well as about 20 other blogs and websites, making money. They really came through in a pinch and I am forever grateful .

Due to my prolonged yet unavoidable absence combined with other cash related necessities cropping up, I have run into a bit of a dilemma for sure. A hosting dilemma, and not a good one. I’ll make this quick….

Long story short, I need $100 by the 9th (14th at the very latest) or my account may be suspended; not deleted, just suspended until payment is made. In the several years I have been hosted, this is a first for me and quite embarrassing to say the least .

The good news for any kind soul that wishes to help - as you know, I am in the process of moving blogs around; hopefully fully functional at the start of the new year…..

Whoever decides they wish to help will receive 9 full months of banner (or possibly link) advertising on the new blog.  Broken down it is approximately $11 per month.

The Success or Failure of your online campaign depends on your landing page. Whether you want to sell any product, generate any leads or any other desired purpose you need to ensure that you avoid the following mistakes so that you can have a perfect landing page.

Complex Design: - Your Landing Page should be simple. Don’t Try to make it complex by adding lot of images, links, graphics etc because they distract the mind of visitor. It is the Fact that Simplicity Sells.

Asking for Too Much: - The Most common mistake present in Landing Page design is a Complex or lengthy action which you want your visitor to take. Try to make it as simple as possible for your user.If you want to get some information from your user then decide in advance that which information is critical and don’t ask for unnecessary information. Auto-populate the fields if possible. If you are selling any product make the checkout process short and simple.

Wrong Positioning of Call to Action: - Another big mistake which we do is the improper positioning of Landing Page. While Creating a Landing Page We think that a visitor see the landing page in the same way as we see it. But this mistake can reduce your conversion Rate a lot. A Call to Action link For eg: - Click here or Sign Up should be at Top and easily visible.

Pictures Speak More: - An image is equal to 1000 words. Landing Pages with Text are boring. A relevant image act as catalyst for your conversion process. For example:- A beautiful woman with money, smiling faces. These images send good vibes to visitor and encourage him to take the desired action

No Relevancy: - Many ad designers don’t design their landing pages relevant to the ad content. The Title and content of landing page should be relevant to the ad content. Is Possible then you should design custom landing pages for each ad and make sure the customer reach the relevant landing page on clicking ad.

Takes More Time to load: - No user wants to wait, if your landing page takes lot of time to load. A good landing page should load in less than 8 seconds. Even today many people are still using dial up connections to use internet. Your landing page should load quickly even at slow connection. Avoid using many images, videos and Flash animations to reduce the loading time of your landing page.

Having a Perfect Landing Page is very important as the success ratio of your campaign depends on your landing page.

I’ve temporarily unsubscribed from everyone in an attempt to focus on a much needed project that will benefit everyone that enjoys this blog. Due to health issues things are taking much longer then they normally would. I’m only online a couple hours per day; some days I just check email.

What I’m Doing:

1. BRANDING. This is not  post on how branding is of utmost importance for any business, I’m merely telling you that is what I’m up to in the background; part of why you haven’t seen me.

I’m preparing to move this entire DSWM blog (posts and comments) to DennisEdell.com; more to the point, DennisEdell.com/blog, but more on that why, another time .

As I see it, there are 3 ways you can brand yourself - personally, through your business, or a combo of the two…..I see myself being in the perfect position for the combo. I like to see myself as a personal style Direct Sales Coach, and I’m not alone; I wasn’t the first to call myself that (I’m not THAT egotistical lol), but I like it! So thank you to those that see me that way already .

I suddenly realized what better way to personally brand, then to move my coaching to my personal blog! I already use my name as my usename everywhere on the net, along with my DE avatar, so it would seem logical, yes? And yes, I already feel quite foolish for not seeing this from the jump, so no reason to kick me now. LOL

2. I’m also in the process of putting my own Direct Sales e-commerce (physical product) sites back online, so that should be lots of fun!

What You Should Expect In The Near Future (blog posts mostly):

A brand new theme on the new blog…more to the point, a much upgraded version of this theme.

A post informing you the new blog is operational and asking ever so humbly for your re-subscription. .

This is where they had to “fillet” my leg. (Actual term used by surgeon.)

Approximately June 16th I was transferred to a physical rehab center, where I stayed until this past Friday when I returned home.

Anyhoo, here I am ready to jump back into action. I have a considerable amount of work to do (online and with the leg) before I can get back into the full swing as they say, but I will do what I can, when I can.

Respond to comments - sorry for the flood some of you received, I approved about 150 all at once.

Email - Lots to do. Sorry to anyone that experienced bounce back, it filled up pretty fast.

Blog updating - It will be some time before I get back to regular posting; I’ll actually be moving blogs around to perfect my branding practice.

Monthly comment contests - Postponed indefinitely, possibly the rest of the year. I will however finish contacting winners and sponsors for the May contest as soon as I can.

If you’re using Adsense, no doubt you would have seen a little section that speaks about your ‘CTR’. Your CTR is a very important part of  Adsense and for many people determines whether they make a little or a lot by using the program. This article will show you the three main tips for increasing your CTR and earning more through Adsense.

What is CTR?
CTR stands for ‘Click Through Rate’. This basically indicates what percentage of your visitors click one of the Adsense adverts. So if, for example, you get one hundred visitors and four clicks, you’ll have a CTR of 4%.

#1: Placement
Where you place your adverts will affect the CTR in a very big way. For example, if you put the adverts right at the bottom of the page, no one will see them, and therefore no one will click them. I recommend that you put them near the header, sidebar and even in content. Failing that, make sure the ads are in a prominent position where they’re bound to get noticed.

If you’re going to try and fiddle around with the placement of your adverts, make sure that you are following the Adsense Rules, as if you break them you’ll probably get banned and Google are known for hardly ever letting publishers back into the program.

#2: Coloring
The color that you have your Adverts is a major factor in CTR success. If you have a green advert on a black page, it will be obvious that it’s an advert and will therefore probably make your CTR worse. If, however, you blend in the background of the advert with the background of your page and put the text to the same colour as your content, you’re bound to get more clicks.

Again, be careful using this method as it’s very easy to breach the Adsense terms of service. From experience, I think the main point is to make sure that the ‘Ads by Google’ text is clearly visible.

#3: Use keyword rich content
The way Adsense chooses which adverts to display on your website is a very clever system. They automatically pull different keywords from your content and match the adverts to those words. Because of this, if you make sure you’re using keyword filled content that is relevant to your site’s niche, you’re bound to get clicks from people looking to buy products related to your site.

The rule to remember about using keyword rich content is that you still have a visitor to please, and you shouldn’t forget that. In the longer scheme of things, it’s much better to use well written content that engages readers than content that is hard to understand yet keyword rich.
Remember that the reader is king!
