Crochet Slipper Pattern

Here is the promised slipper pattern.
They are very easy and fast to crochet. I made a truck load for xmas presents.
They make Great Stocking stuffers!

Crochet Slippers with Optional Cuff

Hook size G or H (I used H)

4 ply yarn—scraps work great!
Use two strands of yarn as it makes for a warmer slipper.

Basically you crochet a rectangle large enough to wrap around your foot.

Ch 33 (or as long as the foot)
Row 1: DC in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across (go thru both loops) ch 3 and turn.
Row 2: DC in each dc across, ch 3 and turn.
Rows 3-13: Repeat row 2, end with a 12 inch tail of yarn.

Now you have your rectangle to work with.

Gathering the toe: Weave the tail in and out at the end of the slipper with the 12 inch tail.
Fold the slipper in half lengthwise. This will happen naturally from the gathering of the toe. Starting from the gathered end, stitch halfway towards the other end of the slipper.

Now you can stitch up the heel. Finish off and cut yarn.

You can now add a cuff to the top of the slippers to make them more…snuggly.
Or you can just leave it as it is and you’re good to go!

Optional added cuff:
I crocheted in the back loops only.
Crochet one row of sc around the foot opening.
Join with a sl st to the first sc, ch 3, dc in each sc and join with sl st to top of first dc.
Continue to do this to form a cuff, for as many rows as you like! It’s up to You.

What I'm workin On

Right now I have been workin on a granny square afghan.

I've been slow on this one folks. Been workin on it for about 2 months.
I have been just pokin at this one and have about 15 more squares to crochet until I can sew it together. (YaY)

I'm thinkin bout what I'm gonna crochet next.
Theres a great summer poncho I want to do.
I so love ponchos!

Dog Sweater

I got a new puppy back in November 2005 and made this adorable sweater for him to wear this winter.

It was really easy and took me two dayz to complete. I wiil look for the pattern I used and post it later.

Hooded Scarfs!

I made a few of these this winter.
This is my lovely daughter modeling one of them!

(isnt she so cute)

Here's the pattern I used....
Very easy to do!

Hooded Scarf

GAUGE:

4 reps = 5 inches (12.75 cm) with size I hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

NOTES:

SCARF

Ch 145 (193).

Row 1 (Dc, ch 2, sc) in 4^th ch from hook, *skip next 2 ch, (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in next ch*, rep from * to * across - 48 (64) reps. Ch 2, turn.

Row 2 (Dc, ch 2, sc) in first ch-2 space, *(2 dc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 space*, rep from * to * across. Ch 2, turn. Rep Row 2 until piece measures 10½ (13½) inches from beg, do not ch 2, turn at end of last row. Fasten off.

Finishing

Fold scarf in half lengthwise and slip st 9 (11) inches of straight edge from foldline for hood back seam. Hood Edging Working down remainder of first straight edge, (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in each ch-2 space across first row. Fasten off. Reattach yarn on opposite straight edge and work (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in each ch-2 space across from end of scarf to center. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Optional Tassels (make 2) Wind yarn 36 to 40 times around a 5 inches piece of cardboard. Use 18 inches length of yarn to tie center top of tassel. Cut bottom. Use a second 18 incheslength to wrap around tassel about 1½ inches from top; tie to secure and trim ends to match length of tassel. Rep for second tassel. Attach both tassels to center back point of hood. Weave in ends.

I made a whole bunch of these (18 pairs) in different colors this winter!

I gave them away as xmas stocking stuffers :)
