He is congested, and just not feeling 100%. All day today he has seemed about 5 minutes away from a nap, even if he just woke up from one. And his fuse is really quick- take one second too long on getting his bottle ready and we are in for a baby meltdown of massive proportions. But a nice warm bubble bath, some fuzzy pj's, and a warm bottle and he has retired for the evening. I rocked him a little longer than normal tonight, stroking his soft little cheek and stroking his hair. Is there anything better than a freshly washed baby? I don't think so.

This entire day has been trying to say the least- I am tired and fighting off another sinus infection too- and we can't both whine all day long to each other. So I have to suck it up and be the mommy...it's in the job description after all. I don't remember actually signing the contract, but I was on a lot of vicotin in the hospital so maybe they slipped it in with the birth certificate paperwork.

On a good note- our playgroup went really well yesterday! The kids and mommies had a great time! And we are doing it again next week- which should be extra fun because my online buddy is coming to stay with us for a couple of days. Her daughter is just a few days younger than Jackson, and we have pretty much already decided they will get married. LOL I hope, hope, hope that we are feeling better by then because this baby slumber party has been in the works for months now.

Well, I am off to make dinner and chug a carton of OJ.
<!--

I am actually having blog withdrawels! You would not imagine the kind of trouble that I have ran into. Trying to get my theme together, and then my host is...well...let's just say these guys didn't graduate at the top of their class in computer school. So I am having to move over to another host, and get everything set up. The mere sight of a css sheet makes my blood boil!

Ok this note took me 10 minutes to type, because SOMEONE is trying to help me type and keeps moving the cursor to insert words in the wrong places. LOL...hang in there...

The baby had his 6 month shots yesterday- so he was up all night being fussy. He weighs 17lbs now and is 26 inches long, so he is right in the 50% percentile which is perfect. He has also been congested lately- may have to look into allergies. He is my son after all- and if momma can't breathe, it only makes sense that he can't either!
<!--

I was told by more than one person that I would never have a child of my own, and we were in the proccess of adopting when we found out about Jackson. It really didn't matter if he was our own or not, I knew that we both had a lot of love to give. I really couldn't wait to see my hubby as a "Daddy"

So my message for the night I guess is: Those of you with kiddos- whether they are step-kids, adopted, or home grown give them extra hugs and kisses tonight. Every child is a miracle....

<!--

Ok a lot...but not really for reasons that you might think. I have stuff planned for the kids to do outside, and the girls in the group pretty much rock (from what I can tell) so it should be cool.

But...I am feeling a little bit white trash lately...which is not cool...not cool at all.

We aren't poor- we are middle class. We have a 3 bedroom house, 2 car garage setup thats about 1,500 sq feet. So it's not a mansion- but we have pretty nice stuff and our cars are paid for. We have room for all our junk! There has to be people out there like us right- it's called middle class...not one lone family in the middle of the pile....

I don't have to work- but I do partly because I would be bored out of my mind and partly cause I do enjoy to blow money ever so often and if we just had one income we would make ends meet but that's about it... Personally- I am good. I buy junk when I want it, we have some in savings, and my bills are always paid. I have a house that doesn't kill me to clean [cause I am not paying someone 100 bucks to come clean my house- I am OCD and have to clean before they actually come over anyway...I don't want them to think I have a dirty house afterall...but I am off topic now..plus I like having people come over. I have a big red suede couch, a big tv and a ton of movies- come hang out at my casa...it's all good! My hubby is an aircraft mechanic, we will never be rich. But he loves it...and I love him...so here we stay.

But then...I have a moment like I just had recently (names and details will be withheld to protect the innocent- though if you are reading my blog you are probobly cool and I'm not talking about you anway) where I feel like beverly freakin' hillbilly.

Some of these moms are loaded! I drive up to their huge houses, where they have their 3 suvs parked in the driveway. Who needs 3 suvs- aren't we having a gas crisis here? These ladies are the reason why! And their house is of course spotless, because I am sure someone comes to clean a couple of times a week, and they have such a big house that there are just empty rooms with no furniture in them.

Hello! What is the point?

Well anyway- so this group of mommies was talking about getting together again and rotating houses and one of them makes the comment.
"Oh my house is TINY- its only 2,500 sq. feet."
To which I hang my head in shame...If that's tiny then we must be living in a mobile home or something! Check please! I think the baby has a dirty diaper, gotta motor.

So my question is- there are moms out there that are in the middle class right? I have yet to go to anyones playgroup yet...and I hope that they all don't come to my house and turn their noses up at my tiny little house and my cute little baby SUV. Maybe all the middle class moms are at home cleaning their own houses, or cooking their own meals...or even god forbid WORKING?!?

Now don't get me wrong- I commend them for having the money, the job, or drug cartel that gives them the bank to afford houses like this. And I do have some good friends that are rich. And I have some friends that live in trailor parks. If you are cool- then we can probobly be friends. But if you are loaded- don't say stuff like "Oh my house is tiny" in mixed company!

Just Oi Vey!
<!--

So I thought that a toy that is fun and stimulating for a sitter would be a good bet. Of course no one has really thought to make much in the way of toys for sitters- I guess he is supposed to just sit on his duff and play with the 100's of other toys he has.

But I wanted something that he could maybe lean forward on while he played- so he could learn to balance. Then I found this leap frog learn around playground thing. It looked awesome - it cost about 6o bucks though so I was debating whether it was worth it or not. I mean he will eventually figure out the sitting thing- so is it really worth 60 bucks? Then I get this in my email box this AM

LeapFrog Recalls to Repair Children's Activity Centers Due to Arm
Entrapment Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in
cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary
recall of the following consumer product. I can't believe it. It seemed like just yesterday I was washing and folding all those little baby clothes complaining about having to pee every five minutes, and how much my back hurt. I don't even think I remember the first two months of his life anyway- I was so sleep deprived.

And now I am having to pack up all those little baby clothes cause he is too big for them all now....and he is now officially inch worming across the house. He will get up on his hands and knees and then throw himself forward, where he then falls on his stomach. And then he repeats. He gets where he wants to go (albiet not gracefully)....

If I could bottle one baby thing from this period in time- I think it would be his thumb sucking, sleepy snuggles. When you curl up with him on the couch or in the rocker when he is sleepy, he will start sucking his thumb. But he has to hold on to a part of my shirt with his thumb sucking hand...I think it is so cute. I am his security blanket.

Ok I am about to cry now...and the room smells oddly of poopy diaper...so I better go.

Happy half birthday to you, happy half birthday to you...happy half birthday dear Jackson....happy half birthday to you...
<!--

Cheap!

Flippin' stupid chihuhuha....grrr....I have been awake a total of 15 minutes (don't judge, I didn't go to bed till 4am) and I have already steamcleaned my living room floor and sponge cleaned my brand new red microfiber sectional. The whhhooooolllleeee thing.

So it is raining here, for the first time since 1978, or at least that's what it feels like anyway and the darn dog weighs all of 3 pounds and is impossible to catch. Well she runs in the house tracking mud all over the carpet and then jumps on the couch. My brand new couch. As I am screaming at her to get down, she starts pacing back and forth on the couch trying to play keep away or something.

Meanwhile the baby is laying on the floor throwing a hissy fit because the dog is barking and mommy is having a stroke- I AM GOING BACK TO BED!
<!--

Eating EZ cheese and garlic parm crackers- ok that sounds gross when you actually type it. I could force myself to go lay down but I would just toss and turn for another hour or so. I really should be sleeping, I really haven't slept more than four hours a night for the past week and haven't gotten in a single nap. You would think at some point my batteries would just whir and I would shut down or something....

Jackson is a little off lately too- he had been sleeping from 8PM to 8AM straight through. Of course I don't go to bed till two or so in the morning, but it was still pretty nice. But lately, he has been waking up around 3 or 4 am when I am getting ready to call it a night. It's like he knows or something, and then he just wants to play with my hair and try to eat my face.

Tonight he was having a really hard time though- my mom and hubbys mom came over to BBQ and he was too revved up to sleep so he kept tossing and turning in his crib. I would rock him and he would fall asleep pretty easily- I put him to sleep 5 times, but he kept waking up crying. Then hubby would take him and his crying would turn into hysterical crying...like hyperventilating crying..Poor guy was like "Your not my MAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAA!" He finally passed out around 10:30. We did try peaches for the first time today too...maybe there is a connection?

I have a hundred things going on on the work front- which is probobly the reason that I am too wired to sleep. I finally finished my book! I love it. It's informative, funny, and I only wish that someone had written it for me when I was pregnant!! I have a list of about 10 people that I want to send it to for reviews and testimonials- but of course my pdf knockoff program doesn't have active weblinks so I am stuck waiting for the adobepdf online program to do it's thing. It is now in the que to be done in 1 hour. Hello...how many people need pdf's at this hour? There is the fear in the back of my head that I will send it out and they will all go "ugh Kim..what is this crap?" But I did show the first 5 chapters to an online buddy and she has since been asking me several times a day when she can read the rest...and she has dibs on my first sale (she is going to buy a copy for her prego cousin) so my vibe is positive so far.

I do think that I am going to have it available for online downloading as well as the option for a paperback version- because it would be handy to have in both forms I think.

And then there is the new blog stuff happening- one of my readers is creating a custom wordpress template and I am so excited! It is going to be so cool- and we are even moving over to our own server! Stay tuned....

And tonight I will sign off with...the sandman from babyfirst tv...always puts me to sleep!
<!--

I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with you and Mom.

I've been finding real passion with Joan and she is so nice. I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, and her tight motorcycle clothes and because she is so much older than I am but it's not only the passion, Dad, she's pregnant.

Joan says that we are going to be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood, enough for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.

Joan has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it and trading it with the other people in the commune for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Joan can get better; she sure deserves it!

Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself. Someday, I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

Your son, Chad

P.S. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the report card that's in my desk drawer.

I love you! He sat in his carseat sucking on his sippy cup the entire time! Everyone oohed and ahhed like usual, and he just gave them his toothless smile and soaked in all the attention like he always does. Wait a minute...for once...this post isn't about the kiddo!

I was talking to hubby about this blog, and my upcoming e-book release site (more on that soon), my copywriting website and my myspace page [that I spent the entire afternoon working on. It looks awesome though- I had a friend help out with the css (which I am still a novice at) you can check it out here if you're bored.] And his eyes started to glaze over a bit- he is losing track of the different websites that I am running, and I have to admit I am getting a little burnt out on the entire experience myself. So why not combine them all? They are all baby/parenting related, so I might as well put them on the same server.

So after much discussion, I think that dirty diapers will be moving over to wordpress on our own server in the very near future. I hope that someone...anyone...has my rss feed bookmarked. If not- the widget is on the side just waiting for ya. :)

The new and improved site will be much prettier- and have a place for my copywriting business information, information on my upcoming book, and online store and much more! So hang tight- and check back often!
<!--

He basically screamed for the first two months of his life non-stop. Everytime I would take him into the doctor, they would tell me that he had colic and he would eventually grow out of it. Which if you look up the defination of colic- it means that no body knows what the heck is actually wrong with your kid.

Then one day- he threw one of his fits in the doctors office. He turned bright red, and held his breathe and no amount of comforting would get him to stop crying. Now, this is not normal behavior for a 2 month old. They aren't intelligent enough to throw temper tantrums yet. So the doctor finally agreed to look into the possibility that he had reflux....now i had been saying it for over a month but they kept blowing me off.

After a tramatic upper GI (prob more so for mommy than baby) they finally gave him the dx of reflux. We got switched to an expensive formula (not milk based, totally broken down) and he was put on a couple of reflux meds. It took us another month to figure stuff out- but eventually he started feeling good again. And we had a happy smiley baby...

That was up until 48 hours ago- the doctors wanted me to try him on a milk based formula again to see if he has outgrown his reflux. I didn't switch him over cold turkey- I did one scoop of the milk based, to 2 of his special formula. Well lets just say the last 2 days have been hellish.

He has screamed almost non-stop, and refuses to sleep for more than 3o minute intervals. I only gave him like 4 bottles with the mixture, and now we are back to straight non-milk formula, and I am hoping to see an improvement again.

So I am sleep deprived and stressed to say the least- I had forgotten how rough it was the first couple of months to watch your child scream in pain and not be able to make it better. I cried 3 times yesterday.
<!--

(Now granted I can't find more than a roll of toilet paper, a single baby blanket or burp rag, or a pair of pants...) But as long as my computer is running all is right with the world. The walls are a sunny yellow- and everyone has their place. Mommy has a shiny new leather computer chair, Taco (the dachshound) is asleep in his dog bed at my feet, Belle (the chihuhuha) is napping in her Dora the Explorer plush chair, and Jackson has his aquarium playpen full of toys and his exersaucer within arms reach. We are a corporate entity!

And just in time too- I logged on this morning to over 100 emails. Who knew I was so popular. LOL!

Work is coming in right and left, and I see a brand new shiny dual-monitor PC in my future...oh and Jackson needs a leap frog learning table....
<!--

Boy was I wrong! He was ok for the first couple minutes, and then he started doing that all-telling grunting thing that means trouble is brewing.

This lady at the next table over gave me a dirty look- yes you could smell him..but what was I supposed to do? Then I pull him out of the bumbo and realize that we had a complete diaper blow out! So I had to carry him to the bathroom and hose him off. [for the record- I hate those diaper pal things Jackson screamed every time I lay him on one.]

We should have left then, but I wanted to finish my meal. Well not 5 minutes later- he grabbed my drink and flung it across the room. All over the lady that had given us a dirty look! Funny...yes...karma sucks!

But, I realized that we prob shouldn't go out to dinner for a while.

I was really bummed- cause we haven't gone out to eat in ages.

Well after a really rough day with the baby (teething sucks) Jeremy sent me to wal-mart and told me not to come home for at least an hour.

Guess what he did?

He made me dinner! And not just any dinner- he made me chedder garlic biscuits and crab alfredo. YUMMOOOO!

At first, I thought that he had just gone to Red Lobster and got the food to go- cause it was way too good for something that hubby cooked. (love him but he can only make pizza and hamburgers)

But he showed me the actual cookbook that he got the recipe- so I had to give credit where credit is due. :)

There are tons of good recipes here too- I think tomorrow I am going to try to make the Applebee’s tequila lime chicken.
