Another black man was killed today by police, this time in San Diego. His name was Alfred Olango. Read more on aljazeera.co and usatoday.com. Elsewhere in San Diego, a white man had a loaded gun and the police spent six hours de-escalating the situation and eventually shot him once and he's in the hospital alive. News video here.

Well in Baltimore, Maryland, at a Vanguard Middle School, a 13-year old girl received ten stitches in her head and was pepper sprayed along with two other young girls by a police officer at that school. Watch the video below.

Baltimore, Maryland – This week, a 13-year-old girl received 10 stitches in her head after she was attacked by police at Vanguard Middle School in Baltimore. The entire incident was caught on video and shows the school police officer yelling at the small child for apparently no reason.

When the child, who was later identified as Starr, tries to go about her own business and walk past the officer, the officer freaks out and grabs the child by the arm, throwing her against the wall.

When Star attempted to free herself, the officer grabbed the child by the hair and began fighting with her.

At that point, Starr’s cousin Diamond witnessed the altercation but did not realize that it was an officer involved. When she attempted to rescue her young cousin from the attack, the rabid officer turned on her and pulled out a Baton, striking the girl in face. Diamond had her back against the wall and her hands up in the air when she was hit with the baton.

There was reportedly another unnamed girl involved in the scuffle, and it was later reported that the officer used pepper spray on all three of the girls. The school did not inform the family of the attack, but they had to learn about the situation later from paramedics when the girls were hospitalized.

Initially the school and the officer attempted to lie about the incident, saying that the officer was punched, kicked and scratched in the face. The girls were initially charged with assault, but the charges were soon dropped after prosecutors reviewed the tape and saw that the officer’s story was false. Teen serves 3 years in NY prison without being convicted

This is a sad story where a teen lost three years of his life after being arrested for a crime he didn't commit and then he served three years in a NY prison before being let go and not given an apology or anything for this mistake.

Bronx resident Kalief Browder was walking home from a party when he was abruptly arrested by New York City police officers on May 14, 2010. A complete stranger said Browder had robbed him a few weeks earlier and, consequently, changed the 16-year-old's life forever.

Browder was imprisoned for three years before the charges were dropped in June 2013, according to a WABC-TV Eyewitness News investigation.

At the time of the teen's arrest, Browder's family was unable to pay the $10,000 bail. He was placed in the infamously violent Rikers Island correctional facility, where he remained until earlier this year.

Now that he's free, the young man is speaking up about his experience.

"I spent three New Year's in there, three birthdays...," Browder, now 20, said in a recent interview with WABC, adding that he was released with "no apology."

In October, Browder filed a civil lawsuit against the Bronx District Attorney, City of New York, the New York City Police Department, the New York City Department of Corrections and a number of state-employed individuals.

The official complaint states Browder was "physically assaulted and beaten" by officers and other inmates during his time at Rikers Island. The document also maintains the accused was "placed in solitary confinement for more than 400 days" and was "deprived meals." In addition, officers allegedly prevented him from pursuing his education. Browder attempted suicide at least six times.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Browder's current lawyer Paul Prestia summarized his client's experience as "inexplicable" and "unheard of." Based off one man's identification, Browder was charged with robbery in the second degree, he notes. It took three years to dismiss these charges, even though it was, in Prestia's words, a "straightforward case to try."

"The city needs to be held accountable for what happened," Prestia said. "[Browder] had a right to a fair and speedy trail, and he wasn't afforded any of that. He maintained his innocence the entire time, and essentially got a three year sentence for that."

Still, when Browder was offered a plea deal in January, he refused to take it, because he did not want to plead guilty to the crime, WABC-TV notes. (Had Browder been tried in a timely fashion and pled guilty to the crime, Prestia told HuffPost, he might have spent less time in prison.)

Prestia adds that his client has suffered lingering mental health problems, and though he's currently going to school for his GED, he's "clearly way behind from where he would have been."

"We need someone to be held accountable," Prestia said. "This can't just go unnoticed. To the extent that [Browder] can be financially compensated -- although it's not going to get those years back for him -- it may give him a chance to succeed."

The District Attorney's office said it was unable to comment, as Browder's allegations are currently the subject of ongoing litigation.

Incidentally, Browder's claims about his experience at Rikers Island are consistent with findings from a recent report commissioned by the New York City Board of Correction. The report, obtained by The Associated Press, notes that the use of force by prison staff has more than tripled from 2004 to 2013, from seven incidents of force per 100 inmates, to almost 25. Additionally, the number of self-mutilation and suicide attempts by Rikers inmates have increased by 75 percent from 2007 to 2012. According to the report, 40 percent of the city jail's 12,200 inmates are mentally ill, and many of these inmates are placed in solitary confinement "holes" as punishment.

Officer kicks man in diabetic shock

A man in diabetic shock was pulled over by police who thought he was drunk and one officer kicked the man five times.

A Las Vegas police officer is being investigated by a federal grand jury after he kicked a man in diabetic shock five times in the head during a traffic stop, it was revealed today.

Henderson police sergeant Brett Seekatz was caught on dashboard camera beating Adam Greene after he was dragged from his car in the controversial 2010 incident.

In the video, Greene was stopped by officers who said they thought he was driving drunk. The diabetic was in fact suffering from severe hyperglycemia while on his way to work.

A man, who happens to be a judge, was assaulted by an NYPD officer but the officer was not charged.

Thomas D. Raffaele, a 69-year-old justice of the New York State Supreme Court, encountered a chaotic scene while walking down a Queens street with a friend: Two uniformed police officers stood over a shirtless man lying facedown on the pavement. The man’s hands were cuffed behind his back and he was screaming. A crowd jeered at the officers.

The judge, concerned the crowd was becoming unruly, called 911 and reported that the officers needed help.

But within minutes, he said, one of the two officers became enraged — and the judge became his target. The officer screamed and cursed at the onlookers, some of whom were complaining about what they said was his violent treatment of the suspect, and then he focused on Justice Raffaele, who was wearing a T-shirt and jeans. The judge said the officer rushed forward and, using the upper edge of his hand, delivered a sharp blow to the judge’s throat that was like what he learned when he was trained in hand-to-hand combat in the Army.

When they first came upon the crowd, the judge said, he was immediately concerned for the officers and called 911. After he made the call, he said, he saw that one of the officers — the one who he said later attacked him — was repeatedly dropping his knee into the handcuffed man’s back.

His actions, the judge said, were inflaming the crowd, some of whom had been drinking. But among others who loudly expressed their concern, he said, was a woman who identified herself as a registered nurse; she was calling to the officer, warning that he could seriously hurt the unidentified man, who an official later said was not charged.

This is a sick and disgusting story. A NYPD officer was plotting on kidnapping women, torturing them, cooking them and then eating them.

A New York City Police officer has been arrested for a plot to kidnap, cook and eat several women, the FBI confirmed on Thursday.

A complaint against officer Gilberto Valle says that he sent emails and text messages which revealed his “plans to kidnap, rape, torture, kill, cook and eat body parts of a number of women,” according to The New York Times.

The officer told one co-conspirator that he wanted to cook women “over a low heat, keep her alive as long as possible,” the complaint said. Valle wrote that his oven was “big enough to fit one of these girls if I folded their legs.”

He allegedly researched methods of “disabling and drugging women, and agreeing with at least one other individual to kidnap a woman in exchange for a sum of money.” Files on at least 100 women — including photos and home addresses — were found on his computer.

“But I will really get off on knocking her out, tying up her hands and bare feet and gagging her,” Valle reportedly wrote. “I think I would rather not get involved in the rape. You paid for her. She is all yours and I don’t want to be tempted the next time I abduct a girl.”

Officer destroys audio recorder

A police officer destroyed an audio recorder that recorded his interactions with a suspect who later killed himself. Could he have destroyed evidence to cover something up?

A former Fullerton police officer has been sentenced to probation for destroying an audio recorder that captured his interactions with a drunk-driving suspect who later killed himself in the city jail.

Vincent Thomas Mater, 42, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of destruction of property and vandalism and was sentenced Thursday to three years of informal probation and 60 days of community service under a plea bargain offered by Orange County Superior Court Judge Frances Munoz. Mater could have faced 18 months in jail had he gone to trial on the charges.

Mater arrested Dean Francis Gochenour in April 2011 on suspicion of drunk driving and transported him to the city jail, where Gochenour hanged himself later that night.

Prosecutors said that after learning of Gochenour's death, Mater destroyed his digital audio recorder -- which all Fullerton officers are required to activate during all public contacts -- by crushing it and then removing the motherboard and circuit board after learning of Gochenour's death.

The destruction of the audio recorder prevented investigators from the D.A.'s office from recovering audio that could have given an insight into Gochenour's interactions with Mater.

It was at this time that Mallone lifted his vest, showed Montgomery his handgun, told him that he was the police and cursed at him as he drove away. Montgomery decided to call 911 and report the incident. Later he received a call on his cellphone from the officer telling him that he would, “f**k him up” if he saw him in Memphis again.

On June 3, 2011, three plainclothes New York City Police officers stopped a Harlem teenager named Alvin and two of the officers questioned and frisked him while the third remained in their unmarked car. Alvin secretly captured the interaction on his cell phone, and the resulting audio is one of the only known recordings of stop-and-frisk in action.

In the course of the two-minute recording, the officers give no legally valid reason for the stop, use racially charged language and threaten Alvin with violence. Early in the stop, one of the officers asks, "You want me to smack you?" When Alvin asks why he is being threatened with arrest, the other officer responds, "For being a fucking mutt." Later in the stop, while holding Alvin's arm behind his back, the first officer says, "Dude, I'm gonna break your fuckin' arm, then I’m gonna punch you in the fuckin’ face."

“He grabbed me by my bookbag and he started pushing me down. So I’m going backwards like down the hill and he just kept pushing me, pushing me, it looked like he we was going to hit me,” Alvin recounts. “I felt like they was trying to make me resist or fight back.”

Alvin’s treatment at the hands of the officers may be disturbing but it is not uncommon. According to their own stop-and-frisk data, the NYPD stops more than 1,800 New Yorkers a day. A New York Times analysis recently determined that more than 20 percent of those stops involve the use of force. And these are only the numbers that the Department records. Anecdotal evidence suggests both figures are much higher.

In this video, exclusive to TheNation.com, Alvin describes his experience of the stop, and working NYPD officers come forward to explain the damage stop-and-frisk has done to their profession and their relationship to the communities they serve. Corrupt London Metropolitan Police officers

Nearly 50 Metropolitan Police officers have been suspended for corruption in three years, figures show.

Of the 258 officers suspended for offences also including sexual assault, neglect and assault, 38% of cases were proven and 11% of officers were sacked.

The officers were paid about £3.6m during their suspensions.

A lawyer who handles complaints against the police has called the figures "shocking". The Met said it aimed to investigate allegations "quickly".

Police officers and staff can only be suspended if they are likely to interfere with the course of an investigation or if it is the public interest.

As such, most suspensions occur when an officer is subject to a serious criminal investigation or a serious internal misconduct investigation.

The figures, released under the Freedom of Information Act, show the number of officers suspended on full pay for three years between 2009-11.

Nearly half of those suspended were special constables, who are unpaid.

Although the specifics of each case has not been revealed, the Met said some instances of corruption included handling stolen goods and fraudulent overtime claims.

Man dies in back of Milwaukee police car

Milwaukee police officers arrested a man named Derek Williams back in July 2011 and during the arrest Mr. Williams was in obvious need for medical attention and even asked for an ambulance but officers told him to stop faking. Later Mr. Williams suffocated in the back of the police car and died. There is now video of this incident. Make sure to read the entire article, via the link below.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office has revised its ruling on the death of Derek Williams, who died in Milwaukee police custody in July 2011, from natural to homicide, according to the district attorney's office.

The decision came after the Journal Sentinel alerted an assistant medical examiner to newly released records - including a video of a suffocating Williams pleading for help from the back of a squad car - and also made him aware of a national expert who said Williams, 22, did not die naturally of sickle cell crisis.

In making his initial determination of natural death more than a year ago, Assistant Medical Examiner Christopher Poulos did not review all of the police reports or a squad video recently obtained by the newspaper. The video shows a handcuffed Williams, his eyes rolled back, gasping for breath and begging for help in the back seat of a Milwaukee police car as officers ignore his pleas. The police reports include key details about Williams' arrest that the medical examiner didn't know.

As a result of the new ruling, Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm is reopening his investigation into whether criminal charges are warranted against any of the officers involved.

In the video, which the paper initially requested last November, Williams struggles to breathe for seven minutes, 45 seconds, then slumps over, unconscious.

An officer then checks his pulse, props him up in the seat and walks to a nearby supervisor's car. Finding no one there, the officer returns and starts CPR as a different officer calls for medical assistance. Police and paramedics continue CPR for more than 45 minutes before Williams is declared dead.

Along with Chisholm, Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission Executive Director Michael Tobin and internal affairs Lt. Alfonso Morales viewed the video months ago and determined officers had done nothing wrong, despite department rules requiring police to call for help immediately "if medical treatment becomes necessary."

Poulos re-examined Williams' case after the Journal Sentinel informed him that Werner U. Spitz, a forensic pathologist and one of the nation's leading experts on death investigation, believed the death was a homicide.

Spitz reviewed the case at the newspaper's request . Poulos said in March that he used Spitz's work on sickle cell crisis as a resource in determining how Williams died.

"Is this a natural death? No. This is not a natural death," Spitz told the Journal Sentinel.

Spitz said that while sickle cell crisis likely occurred, it was caused by an officer applying pressure to Williams' back - and perhaps his neck - while he was facedown on the ground.

"This officer didn't have the intention of killing him, but that doesn't mean this kind of restraint should be performed," Spitz said.

Williams, his hands cuffed behind him, repeatedly told officers he couldn't breathe for at least 15 minutes between the time of his arrest and his death, according to records. He first made the complaint as he lay facedown, Ticcioni pressing a knee across his back, O'Day's report says.

"As soon as he released pressure, Williams began squirming, as if trying to break free, and reached around his right side to his right waistband (while still in handcuffs)," according to the report. Ticcioni worried that Williams was trying to grab a gun and "reapplied pressure with his right knee to prevent any further movement from the suspect," the report says.

Officers then searched Williams. No gun was found.

They got him to his feet, and "Williams immediately went limp," the report says. Ticcioni "laid him on the ground on his back and observed that he was breathing hard."

"He felt Williams was playing games and directed him to stop messing around," the report says.

A few minutes later, as officers Ticcioni and Coe were helping Williams walk toward the car, Coe left Williams' side to move a "for sale" sign that was blocking the sidewalk. When he did, Williams "pulled forward and fell face forward into the grass," the report says.

Ticcioni believed Williams was dragging his feet to make it difficult for the officers to get him to the waiting squad car, the report says.

Once locked in the back seat, Williams continued to say he could not breathe and asked officers to call him an ambulance, according to the squad video and a summary of the internal investigation. Officers Jeffrey Cline and Jason Bleichwehl, who can be heard talking on the recording, told internal investigators they did not hear Williams ask for an ambulance, the summary says.

Internal affairs investigators for the Spokane Police Department have sided with officers accused of brutality and excessive force in every single complaint filed by citizens over the past five years, a statistic that troubles several community leaders, including the city's new top cop.

New Director of Law Enforcement Frank Straub brings 12 years of experience investigating allegations of misconduct by federal and state police officers. He said he’s keeping an open mind but the fact that Spokane police found no problem with all 492 uses of force from 2007 to 2011 raises serious questions.

“I don’t know the specific cases, but that suggests there are other issues that need to be addressed,” he said. “My first priority is not to go back and do retroactive investigations. But what I can tell you is that when those cases come to my desk, they will get a very thorough investigation.”

The Spokane Police Department’s use-of-force practices have come under increasing scrutiny as evidence was trucked out leading up to and during the trial that resulted in the conviction of former Officer Karl F. Thompson Jr. for using excessive force and lying to investigators about his deadly confrontation with Otto Zehm in 2006.

At a presentation to that board earlier this year, SPD Maj. Frank Scalise said 2006 was the last time a police officer was found by department officials to have used excessive force.

4 Houston cops caught in overtime pay scheme

There's been a lot of things with the Houston police lately, and here's another one. Four veteran police officers were caught in a scheme they had to earn them overtime pay. One has even made over $300K and all he got was a 30-day suspension. They weren't even fired, at least not yet but hopefully they are. What a freakin joke. This is just crazy. This right here proves that there are different rules for cops and people who are not cops. Anyone know if they had to pay the money back?

Four veteran Houston police officers who collected nearly $1 million in overtime pay combined since 2008 were recently suspended for listing one another as witnesses on traffic tickets to help themselves get overtime for testifying in court, according to records obtained Wednesday.

From 2008 to the present, the four officers who specialize in writing tickets together were paid $943,000 in overtime, city payroll records show.

The punishments handed down Sept. 4 by Police Chief Charles McClelland range from 20 to 45 days off without pay, concluding a lengthy investigation by HPD internal affairs triggered by tickets issued in April 2011.

An audit of traffic tickets written by the four officers showed they "unnecessarily listed other officers on tickets issued to citizens, or (were) unnecessarily listed on tickets issued to citizens by other officers, after writing multiple citations," according to disciplinary records.

As a result of the investigation, each officer admitted to breaking various rules, including failure to use sound judgment. They also acknowledged violating HPD rules against assigning themselves or other officers on citations "for the sole purpose of obtaining or accruing court overtime compensation," the records state.

$347,000 for 1 officer

The lengthiest punishment was given to Sgt. Paul S. Terry, 44, an officer since February 1994, who agreed to 45 days off without pay. Terry has four previous punishments, including a reprimand in 2000 for an extra job violation, a two-day suspension in 2002 for not completing a report on a call, and a three-day suspension in 2006 for falsifying records to show he checked city jail cellblocks during his shift.

Senior police officer Matthew L. Davis, 40, who became an officer in February 1997, agreed to a 30-day suspension. Last year, Davis was suspended for a day for improperly voiding traffic citations for a woman at the request of a Houston city official. He was reprimanded for causing many cases to be dismissed in municipal court.

Davis has earned $347,000 in overtime alone since 2008.

Police officer Steven L. Running, 41, sworn in as an officer in August 1998, also received a 30-day suspension. Running has four previous disciplinary actions, including a two-day suspension in 2003 for releasing a burglary suspect who falsely claimed he had permission to be in a burglarized residence, two minor auto accidents and skipping a municipal court appearance. Running could not be reached by phone for comment.

Senior police officer Kenneth L. Bigger, 39, who became an officer in March 1999, agreed to a 20-day suspension. In 2002, Bigger was suspended for two days for not filing charges against a suspect arrested for credit card abuse after he transported him to jail. Calls left at his residence were not returned.

Internal affairs began investigating the officers after there were apparent inconsistencies in two traffic stops that all four officers were involved in. In one stop, an officer drove himself to the city jail where a suspect had already been taken, but listed himself as a witness to one traffic violation he did not observe, his disciplinary record noted.

A skateboarder was pinned on the ground by four cops and a LAPD officer still punches him while being pinned.

"A 20-year-old Venice skateboarder and his family are accusing Los Angeles police of using unnecessary force after a video shows him pinned to the ground and an officer punching him in the face. The incident unfolded Saturday afternoon when college student Ronald Weekley Jr. was riding his skateboard in the street when officers sought to detain him, police said. Weekley's attorney alleges that police grabbed him and threw him to the ground. Weekley suffered a broken nose, concussion and fractured cheekbone, said Ryan Julison, a spokesperson for attorney Benjamin Crump. A video provided to KTLA shows Weekley on the ground with four officers on top of him. One officer is seen punching Weekley in the head."

Houston officer kills man in wheelchair holding a pen

This is more of a "not trained enough" police officer, rather than a dirty cop, where a Houston police officer shot and killed a man in a wheelchair, who only had one leg and one arm. The man in the wheelchair was holding a pen, and apparently was trying to stab the officer. From the article, it sounds like the officer who was cornered by the man in the wheelchair was not the one who shot him but it seems the officer's partner was the one. He didn't know what the man in the wheelchair had in his hand so he shot him and killed him. The man in the wheelchair has one arm, wouldn't the officer be able to grab that one arm? Who knows I guess, we weren't there. But another person killed by the cops.

HOUSTON (AP) — A Houston police officer shot and killed a one-armed, one-legged man in a wheelchair Saturday inside a group home after police say the double amputee threatened the officer and aggressively waved a metal object that turned out to be a pen.

Police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said the man cornered the officer in his wheelchair and was making threats while trying to stab the officer with the pen. At the time, the officer did not know what the metal object was that the man was waving, Silva said.

She said the man came "within inches to a foot" of the officer and did not follow instructions to calm down and remain still.

"Fearing for his partner's safety and his own safety, he discharged his weapon," Silva told The Associated Press.

The owner of the group home, John Garcia, told the Houston Chronicle that the man had a history of mental illness and had been living at the house about 18 months. Garcia said the man had told him that he lost a leg above the knee and all of one arm when he was hit by a train.

Silva identified the officer as Matthew Jacob Marin, a five-year veteran of the department. He was immediately placed on three-day administrative leave, which is standard in all shootings involving officers.

Houston police records indicate that Marin also fatally shot a suspect in 2009. Investigators at the time said Marin came upon a man stabbing his neighbor to death at an apartment complex and opened fired when the suspect refused to drop the knife.

Teen jailed because of lying cop

A police officer said a teen assaulted him and the teen spent four months in jail for something he never did and there's video evidence to prove it.

A police officer had 19-year old Ryan Dorm jailed for four months after an incident in February of this year in which he falsely claimed that he was assaulted by the teen outside of a gas station in Brentwood, Maryland.

Prince George County, Maryland police officer Donald Taylor said that Dorm, believed to be involved in an attempted robbery at the gas station, reached for the officer's weapon.
"After catching up to an aggressive youth who swung at him and began to flee, the youth reached for his gun, at which point he fired his gun at the youth in self defense,"

Taylor had claimed.

Video footage taken from the gas station February 3, but not released until Monday shows what actually happened was that Taylor chased down Dorm from behind and hit him in the head with his gun, which fired in Dorm’s face.
"I heard a shot and then felt a flash," Dorm told Fox 5. "I thought I was dead actually."

Woman dies after police kick her in genitals

This is just sickening as a woman died because of a LAPD police officer kicking her in the genitals. No, you read that right, at least one female officer is to have kicked this woman in the genitals. Apparently she died of suffocation while in police custody. Yes she resisted arrest, but kicking in the genitals? How low can you go? Just sickening.

At least five Los Angeles Police officers are being investigated after 35-year-old Alesia Thomas (pictured) died in police custody, the Los Angeles Times reports. On July 22, Thomas reportedly left her two children, a 3-year-old and 12-year-old, at the LAPD’s southeast station after allegedly telling officers that she could no longer care for them because of her drug addition.

Officers were assigned to look for Thomas and found her at her home in the 9000 block of South Broadway in Los Angeles. After being questioned, the officers arrested her “on suspicion of child endangerment.” But, Thomas “began actively resisting arrest.” One of the officers took her down by sweeping her legs from underneath her.

One of the officers reportedly went as far as kicking her in the genitals during the arrest.

Two more officers were summoned as Thomas continued to struggle. Green confirmed that Thomas was a large woman. A “hobble restraint device” — an adjustable strap — was tightened around Thomas’ ankles to give the officers more control and she was eventually placed in the back of the patrol car, the LAPD account said.

The official account, however, made no mention of what Green confirmed was a female officer’s questionable treatment of Thomas.

The department’s account said officers immediately notified paramedics. It is unclear whether the officers attempted to resuscitate her and how much time passed before paramedics arrived. Thomas died shortly after being transported to a hospital.

NYPD are ones that shot pedestrians at Empire State Building

The shooting outside of the Empire State Building in NY this past week with a man killing another man and then there were nine pedestrians who got shot or were grazed by bullets.

Johnson, who witnesses said looked eerily calm, then walked east on 33rd Street and turned north onto the bustling Fifth Avenue — with two construction workers chasing after him, police said.

One of the hardhats flagged down officers Matthews and Sinishtaj, yelling, "This man just shot somebody around the block!" Browne said.

Johnson, who was carrying a black canvas tote-bag, pulled out his .45 as he spotted the cops — who were posted outside the Empire State Building.

The officers ordered him to "freeze" and drop his weapon, but Johnson raised his gun instead, according to Browne.

The cops opened fire — hitting Johnson with at least seven of their 17 shots, Browne said.

Two innocent bystanders were hit by rounds from the cops’ guns, while another seven passers-by were grazed or struck by bullet fragments that ricocheted off large flower pots along Fifth Avenue.

Cops later discovered that Johnson's pistol got jammed when a shell got lodged in its chamber.

“After he killed his victim it was inoperable,” a source said.

A mentally ill man named Milton Hall was shot over 40 times by Michigan police as he held a knife and wouldn't put it down. Hall died there. So it takes over 40 shots to disarm one man with a knife? Wow just insane. May Mr. Hall rest in peace. Our prayers and thoughts are with Mr. Hall's family.

He had been arguing with officers in a parking lot next to a shuttered Chinese restaurant when he was shot, in full view of passing motorists and while he was holding some sort of knife. Saginaw County Prosecutor Michael Thomas said later that the squad of police confronting him opened fire "because apparently, at this point in time, he was threatening to assault police."

Thomas' office and the Michigan State Police are investigating Hall's death. Saginaw Police Chief Gerald Cliff said Hall was "known to be an assaultive person" with "a long history" of contacts with law enforcement, "not only with police from our department but with the county."

Hall's cousin, Mike Washington, acknowledged Hall had been jailed for minor offenses like vagrancy in the past, but, "He was not violent." And Hall's mother is growing impatient with the probe and questions why police opened fire so furiously on her son, whom she said was mentally ill.

"It appeared to be a firing squad dressed in police uniforms," Jewel Hall told CNN from her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. "There was another way. They did not have to kill him. He had not done anything. He was not violent. He was not a murderer. He was not a criminal."

The July 1 shooting happened in a parking lot on West Genessee Avenue, a busy commercial strip on the north side of Saginaw. In a video purchased by CNN, shot by a motorist from across the street, the 49-year-old Hall is seen arguing with a half-dozen officers. For more than three minutes, he walks back and forth, and at one time appears to crouch in a "karate stance," according to the man who captured the scene.

Police said Hall had just had a run-in with a convenience store clerk. On the video, he tells police, "My name is Milton Hall, I just called 911. My name is Milton, and I'm p---ed off." When an officer tells him to put the knife down, he responds, "I ain't putting s--t down." He appears unimpressed by a police dog, telling officers, "Let him go. Let the motherf---ing dog go."

Finally, he turns to the left of the frame, where another officer had moved out of view a short time earlier. It's then that the police open fire with a reported 46 shots in a five-second hail of bullets.

"I'm stunned that six human beings would stand in front of one human being and fire 46 shots," Jewel Hall said. "I just don't understand that. It's a lot of pain in that because it only takes one shot, so the question is why?"

She questioned why none of the cameras in the police cars at the scene recorded the shooting -- "none of them work."

Wow how stupid do police think people are? A young man named Chavis Carter was searched twice, arrested and put in a police car. The officers say Carter, while handcuffed, shot himself in the head with a gun. Sounds like BS to me.

A young black man is dead after he was shot in the head while in the back of a police squad car. Chavis Carter was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and missing a court date, according to police.

Sergeant Lyle Waterworth of the Jonesboro, AR police department says Carter was searched before he was arrested, then placed in handcuffs.

So how did Carter end up dead? Police allege that they must have missed a gun Carter had in his possession during the search, thus allowing him to shoot himself in the head. Yes, you read right, police allege that a handcuffed man in the back of a squad car shot himself in the head.

Officers say the heard a “thump”, then turned and realized that Carter had shot himself in the head.

Carter’s mother says her son was not suicidal, and had even called his girlfriend to tell her he’d be calling her from jail soon. And police searched the suspect twice, so how’d they miss the gun? Also, the gunshot wound was to Carter’s right temple, but Carter’s mother says her son was left handed. Source

A narrative of the arrest and death of Carter, 21, which the police report labels a suicide, reveals details about the case, including the presence of potential witnesses, all of whom officers said were driving away from the scene when gunshots rang out in the back of a patrol car Saturday night, leaving Carter fatally wounded.

Jonesboro, Arkansas police officer Keith Baggett says he was dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle on the night of July 28th, a Saturday, following reports of a white truck “driving up and down” Haltom Street with its lights off. Baggett stated in his report that he approached the white Chevrolet truck, which was parked with just its parking lights on, and found three people inside, all sitting in the front seats — a white male driver, not named in the report because he is 17 years old, a second white male, 19-year-old Timothy Teal of Missouri, and a 21-year-old black male sitting in the passenger seat, who initially gave his name as Laryan Bowman. Baggett said only the driver produced identification. Baggett says he questioned the three and was told by Teal that they were waiting for his cousin, whom he said lived on Haltom Street. Baggett says he radioed the men’s names in to dispatch, and requested back-up. Soon after, Officer Ron Marsh arrived.

Baggett says Teal produced a Missouri ID and that “Bowman” said he was from Tennessee. When Marsh, arrived, Baggett said he asked the officer to remove “Bowman” from the truck, while Baggett frisked and questioned the two other men.

Bowman was placed into the back of Marsh’s patrol car un-handcuffed, while Baggett said he was given permission by the 17-year-old driver to search the truck. He says that while he was searching the vehicle, Marsh told him he found marijuana on Bowman and that Bowman’s real name was Chavis Chacobie Carter, of Mississippi.

Baggett’s report states that Marsh ran Carter’s name and discovered that he had an open warrant, from Desoto County, Mississppi. The officer says that he also found a set of scales under the passenger seat of the truck, where Carter had been sitting. He stated that he opened the scales and smelled a “strong odor of marijuana.” Baggett wrote that he and Marsh placed the driver and Teal into handcuffs, after the men denied knowing anything about the scales. Both were placed into the back of Baggett’s patrol car.

Baggett says he continued his search of the truck and found a plastic bag containing a “white, powdery, granular substance” — also behind the seat near the passenger side. The baggie was tied into a knot, Baggett wrote. He said the driver then told him the truck belonged to his mother and that the substance was “possibly sugar or creamer,” since his mother “sometimes brings food with her to work.”

The officer stated that Marsh found several "new plastic baggies" on Carter's person, which the officers guessed Carter might have been attempting to use as "fake drugs."

Baggett's report says that the driver and passenger told them they had picked Carter up that evening and “taken him to several locations at his direction,” but that they “did not know he had any drugs.” Both the minor and Teal said they were not from Jonesboro and "did not know their way around town."

The officer’s report — the only one released by Jonesboro police — says that Marsh removed Carter from the back of his patrol car and handcuffed him behind his back, searched him a second time, and placed him back into the patrol unit. Just then, a car reportedly pulled up to the scene, in front of Marsh’e scar. According to Baggett, Carter told the officers the woman in the car was his aunt, but that the officer didn’t get her name. He guesses that Carter may have called the aunt while he was in the patrol car not handcuffed. Baggett claims that he explained the situation to Carter’s aunt, and that she drove away. Baggett claims that as he was returning to his patrol car to talk to the driver and Teal, he “saw a vehicle driving north on Haltom” — presumably the aunt leaving the scene — and then “heard a loud thump with a metallic sound.” The officer said he presumed that the car had driven over something. Baggett then claims that he and Marsh returned to the two other men, whom they talked to “for about two minutes,” reading them their rights, and then releasing them.

As the truck drove away, Baggett says he heard Officer Marsh on the radio then felt “several thumps” on the trunk of his car as Marsh sought to get his attention.

He said that he and Marsh returned to Marsh’s patrol car, where they found Carter “in a sitting position … slumped forward with his head in his lap.” Baggett’s report said there was “a large amount of blood on the front of his shirt, pants, seat and floor.” Baggett states that Carter’s hands were still cuffed behind his back and that he was still breathing. The officer said he radioed for EMS and for a supervisor.

Baggett stated that Marsh attempted to remove the handcuffs from Carter but was unable to because of the position of Carter’s body. Baggett’s report says Marsh found a small caliber handgun, “secured it,” then placed it on the trunk of Marsh’s patrol car.

A police officer in St. Louis, Missouri went to arrest a woman and ended up tasering her daughter, a 12-year old little girl, because he says she got physical. You know, a 12-year old girl, getting physical, I guess dangerous enough to taser. Wow. Any witnesses?

A police officer in South St. Louis County tased a 12-year-old girl during an attempt to arrest her mother, last Wednesday (July 25). The incident occurred inside a Victoria's Secret at the South County Center.

According to authorities, the mother –Charlene Bratton—had warrants stemming from traffic tickets.

Dejamon Baker, started crying when the officer instructed her mother to put her arms behind her back, to be handcuffed. "I was just crying. I guess he got mad because I was crying or something, then he just took it out and just tased me," explained the little girl. "I had fell on the floor and I couldn't control myself I just kept on shaking and stuff," she said of getting shocked with the device.

While a spokesperson for the police department said that the officer did nothing wrong since the girl got "physically involved" in the incident, Bratton shared a different perspective. "He should have had enough control to tell her to get back instead of pulling out his gun, I guess he was nervous or whatever, and tasing people," she said.
