Melbourne, Australia — Disc Brakes Australia launched their new BMW M brake pad range at the 2026 Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo, giving workshops and performance specialists expanded DBA coverage for one of Australia’s most passionate performance vehicle segments.

The new DBA BMW M brake pad program has been developed to support key BMW M2, M3 and M4 applications across both F-series and G-series platforms. It gives the trade a stronger performance braking offer for BMW M customers who demand more from their vehicles — from daily driving and spirited road use through to track days and enthusiast performance upgrades.

Australia continues to be one of BMW M’s strongest global markets. BMW M recorded its best year ever in Australia in 2025, with 5,837 vehicles sold, highlighting the depth of local demand for high-performance BMW models. (paintandpanel.com.au)

For DBA, that demand creates a clear opportunity for workshops.

“BMW M owners are highly engaged performance customers,” said Janani Waterston – Head of Product R&D Innovation. “They know their cars, they value quality components, and they expect braking performance that matches the capability of the vehicle. This new pad range gives workshops a DBA solution they can recommend with confidence.”

The new BMW M pad coverage forms part of DBA’s broader friction program, which has been developed to complement the company’s established rotor range and provide options for different driving needs. DBA’s brake pads are direct replacement, require no vehicle modification and are designed to match DBA rotors with the same focus on quality, performance and safety.

DBA’s pad range includes options for OE-style replacement, street performance, high-performance and race applications. Street Performance pads are designed for drivers seeking improved braking characteristics over traditional OE pads, while Xtreme Performance pads are engineered for higher initial bite and friction consistency across a wider temperature range.

“This is more than just added coverage,” said Tony Burke – Head of Sales ANZ “It is about giving the trade a stronger DBA position in the European performance segment. BMW M is a serious performance market in Australia, and this launch gives workshops another reason to look to DBA when servicing and upgrading these vehicles.”

The new BMW M brake pad range was showcased at the DBA stand during the 2026 Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo in Melbourne.

DBA Launches New BMW M Performance Rotor Range for Australian Workshops and Enthusiasts

Melbourne, Australia — Disc Brakes Australia (DBA) announced the launch of a new BMW M performance rotor program, developed to support workshops, performance specialists and enthusiasts servicing some of the most popular modern BMW M platforms in the Australian market.

The new range was officially showcased around the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo 2026, giving trade visitors the opportunity to see the new BMW-focused rotor program alongside DBA’s broader braking range.

Australia has long been recognised as a strong market for BMW M vehicles. Public industry reporting has placed Australia among the key global markets for BMW M, with Australia and New Zealand ranking highly for M and M Performance sales penetration as a percentage of BMW sales. Approximately one in five BMWs sold in Australia wore an M or M Performance badge, reinforcing the strength of the local performance customer base.

The new DBA program has been developed with this market in mind, targeting key BMW M2, M3 and M4 applications where braking performance, heat management and confidence under repeated use are critical. These vehicles are commonly used across spirited road driving, modification, club track days and performance-focused ownership, creating strong demand for premium aftermarket braking solutions.

Initial BMW M rotor range

The staged BMW M rotor range includes the following development and release pipeline:

Size

The range has been designed to support BMW M applications F and G generations. M2, M3 and M4 platforms, including vehicles identified in DBA’s development program such as the F87 BMW M2, BMW M2 Competition and CS, F80 BMW M3, F82 BMW M4, G87 BMW M2 and current-generation BMW M3/M4 applications.

For high-performance applications, DBA’s 5000 Series rotor technology offers a two-piece direct-replacement design using high-carbon cast iron rings with aerospace-grade aluminium hats, National Aerospace Standards bolts and crimp nuts. The design helps reduce unsprung weight, improve heat management and allow more uniform radial disc expansion under load. DBA’s 5000 Series is recommended for high-performance street vehicles, track days, club racing, rally applications and show vehicles.

“BMW M owners are serious about performance, and workshops need braking products that match that expectation,” said Janani Waterston – Head of Product R&D Innovation. “This range gives the trade a premium DBA solution for vehicles that are often driven hard, upgraded and maintained by highly engaged enthusiasts. It is about giving workshops the confidence to recommend a product engineered for performance use, not just replacement.”

DBA’s 4000 Series and 5000 Series platforms carry key performance technologies including high-carbon alloyed iron, Thermal Stability Profiling, advanced slot designs and heat management features engineered to deliver braking consistency under higher stress conditions. The 4000 Series is designed for upgraded braking beyond OE levels, while the 5000 Series builds on that foundation with two-piece rotor construction for additional performance benefits.

The new BMW M rotor program will be rolled out in stages, with initial components scheduled from late April and additional applications progressing through development. Workshops, distributors and trade customers can speak with DBA at the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo or contact DBA directly for application updates, availability and fitment information.

Disc Brakes Australia has wrapped up a successful Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo 2026, with strong engagement from workshops, distributors, retailers and industry partners across three big days in Melbourne.

Held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, AAAE 2026 once again brought together the best of the automotive aftermarket industry, giving trade professionals the opportunity to connect with leading brands, discover new products and discuss the future of vehicle service, repair and performance.

For DBA, the event was an important opportunity to speak directly with the trade about what matters most: range, availability, technical confidence and brake solutions that suit the real vehicles coming through Australian workshops every day.

A key talking point on the DBA stand was car parc coverage. With the Australian vehicle market continuing to evolve across passenger cars, SUVs, 4WDs, light commercial vehicles, performance models and European applications, workshops need brake products they can rely on across a broad and changing mix of vehicles. DBA’s message was clear — coverage matters, and having the right rotor-and-pad solution available at the right time is critical to workshop efficiency and customer confidence.

Another major highlight was the launch of DBA’s new BMW M Series brake rotor and pad range. The release attracted strong interest from attendees, particularly those servicing high-performance European vehicles and customers who expect braking performance to match the vehicle’s capability. The BMW M range sparked plenty of conversation about premium fitment, performance braking, rotor and pad matching, and the growing opportunity for workshops to service high-performance European vehicles with confidence.

The response from the trade reinforced the importance of giving workshops more than just a replacement part. Attendees were looking for product knowledge, application guidance and complete brake solutions that help them make the right recommendation based on how the vehicle is driven — whether that is daily use, spirited driving, towing, 4WD, performance street or track-inspired applications.

AAAE 2026 also gave DBA the chance to reconnect with long-standing customers and build new relationships across the industry. The conversations on stand highlighted the strength of the DBA brand in the aftermarket and the continued demand for trusted braking products backed by technical expertise, strong range coverage and proven performance.

DBA would like to thank everyone who visited the stand, asked questions, explored the latest product releases and shared valuable feedback with the team.

The show may be over, but the momentum continues. With new products, expanded coverage and a continued focus on quality, performance and safety, DBA remains committed to supporting the trade with braking solutions built for the Australian aftermarket.

DBA at MotorEx 2026: Performance, Passion, and One Very Angry XA

Another Meguiar’s MotorEx has wrapped up, and once again, it delivered exactly what Australian car culture is all about. World-class builds, passionate people, and conversations you don’t want to end.

For DBA, MotorEx 2026 was more than just a stand with product on it. Over the weekend, the team spent time with workshop owners, performance builders, racers, and street machine enthusiasts from all over the country. Talking braking technology, where vehicle trends are heading, and what’s coming next for Australian performance.

But while all of that was going on, one vehicle made sure nobody walked past the DBA stand without stopping.

Meet KINGXA

Front and centre sat KINGXA. Peter Grmusa’s 1972 Ford XA Falcon. A car that doesn’t apologise for anything it is.

Under the bonnet sits a 702-cubic-inch blown big-block Chev producing 2,100 horsepower. It claimed the Pro Burnout Championship at Summernats 37, and if you’ve seen it in action, you already know why. If you haven’t, it’s the kind of car that makes you stop mid-sentence.

The paintwork is Violet Flame, a deep purple that shifts colour depending on the light. Which feels almost excessive on a car already doing this much. All weekend, people stopped to admire it, study it, photograph it, or just stand there quietly. There’s no better reaction a car can get.

Built to Perform

Cars like KINGXA are exactly why events like MotorEx matter. They show what’s possible when someone commits completely to the engineering, to the craft, to the build.

We had a lot of good conversations over the weekend. Some about brakes, some about builds, and more than a few that were just people standing in front of the XA, not saying much at all. That’s MotorEx doing its job.

To everyone who stopped by, thank you. We’ll see you at the next one.
