Original Palm battery on my Centro killed itself last week, which was about 14 months after buying the PDA. I let the battery drain right down to the red on the battery meter and after that the Palm wouldn't switch on, nor would it charge up. I think the little protection circuit that's built into the battery pack decided the battery was hosed and therefore refused to charge it.

I'll update my review when I've been using it for a few months, but initial impressions are good. It seems to hold a charge and last about as long between charges as the original battery did. I'm not expecting miracles, since this battery is only 15% higher rated capacity than the OEM one. I'm only on about the 2nd charge and the (meagre) instructions say that it will take 5-6 charges to reach full capacity, which is to be expected.

What I don't get is why this battery costs the same as an original Palm one. Should be substantially cheaper if they want to lure people away from the comfort zone of only buying OEM batteries. Knocking a star off for that. I bought this one and not the Palm original because I get Amazon Prime free 2 day shipping, whereas Palm want to charge shipping on top of the battery price. I needed the battery ASAP because I was PDA-less.

I was worried that this Seidio one from Amazon might be a fake, but there are no indications to that effect so far.

Seller claims it should still hold a charge but I have seen many references to these batteries having a shelf life of around 3 years.

Came in a postage type envelope via regular mail and was inside wrapped in a piece of plastic closed with a small piece of tape. It seems to work great so far I haven't had any problems with using it. The only small problem I had which really wasn't too big a deal and partly my fault was the delivery. I did order it regular shipping and on a Friday night/Saturday morning so I didn't actually receive it till a week from that coming Monday. I purchased 2 new batteries for my Treo 700P. First, they didn't appear to look as new as the ones I was getting rid of. They may be brand new but they don't look like it.

More importantly, they haven't added a minute on to the active life of my Treo. In fact, the batteries that I have been using for one year seem to provide as much or more talk and standby time than these new ones. Not a good situation, frankly. While there may be issues with how my Treo is drawing power, it would seem like these batteries are not high quality, new ones or you would think I'd be getting a better result.

Purchased this battery for my Alias 2. I am amazed with it's longevity! I fully charged this battery on Friday and 5 days later have only dropped one bar! I don't "power text" but I do my fair share. I also use the phone for music once in a while. If your looking for extra power to reduce the number of charging sessions, this battery will fit the bill!

The extended battery back plate will add roughly 5mm of thickness to the lower 2/3 of your phone. I actually like the thicker phone (with extended battery back plate). It makes it easier for me to hold and open the phone. I store my phone in a holster most of the time so the thickness doesn't bother me that much. I still carry my phone in my pocket once in a while and it doesn't bother me at all when wearing baggy pants.

So in a nut shell: If you do heavy texting/multimedia, or just can't/don't like to charge your phone that often, this battery is a must have!

The battery does last for a very long time. It is worth the money spent, plus then you have your originial and the extended batteries. The only thing is the extended cover plate is slightly larger than it needs to be, makes the phone thicker, and at the top leaves a paper thin gap between the phone and plate, but these are very minor things. You get the trade off, larger and thicker phone (slightly), but also 63% more battery life (1300mHa/800mHa). After several days I finally received the extended life battery. It does make the phone a little thicker and slightly heavier but that was okay with me. I have found that it takes several hours to charge the new battery. I am getting about 24 hours in between charges. Would I buy it again? This is a great battery upgrade!! The first day i used it i noticed a much, much longer talk time not to mention unbelievably long data transfer (web and BB messaging)usage with a minimal battery drain. The OEM battery would usually be dead or in the red at the best after 3 hrs of talk with any amount of data usage. After getting proper battery life by cycling it a few times to complete "shut off dead" i now get over 4hrs talk and can still have ample life left to do data transfer for reasonable amount of time. I purchased this awesome battery about a week ago, it does everything it promises. The difference in battery life is just amazing. My old battery was admittedly going bad, I use the internet and text a lot, and from 6am(charged all night) to noon, the battery would be near dead. With the seidio it lasts all day, and isn't even half drained.

The only "con" is the extra thickness, but I don't like those plastic cases anyway and never used a dock.

First the good: This battery will keep your BB device working almost twice as long as the original. The bad: it adds significantly to the thickness and weight of the device. While the supplied cover does a nice job of making it look factory original, the significant extra thickness means the protective case is now useless (good luck finding one that works), the drop-in battery charger no longer charges (can't fit), and the phone is more prone to damage from being dropped (due to the extra weight). I'd much rather have a battery the size of the original, that provides say 30-50% extra life.

I ordered this battery to replace the original in my Motorola cellphone when it began going dead within a day of being fully charged. Unfortunately, this "new" battery from eforcity runs out within 2 days of being fully charged. It's hard to imagine it is really a new battery, as I recall the original held a charge for several days when I first got my phone. (I'm not a heavy cellphone user, by the way, and my usage hasn't changed)

An added note of annoyance--eforcity charges $2.98 per item for shipping. I ordered a second item (a package of lcd screen protectors that weigh less than an ounce, I'm sure), so the shipping was nearly $6.00 b/c of the second item. This seems an unreasonable charge, given the weight and value of the second item. Of course, I knew I was being charged this extra fee going in, so I take the responsibility for that, but I think retailers should know that we customers know when we're getting gouged. And we don't like it. Personally, I won't order from these guys again, as I've discovered there are other retailers out there who have better shipping policies.

I bought this battery because it was recommended on [...]and was supposed to be a long lasting battery. At first it was really noticeable, like it had far more juice in it than the standard OEM battery. But with Blackberries it really depends on the battery-firmware combination.

I upgraded my Javelin 8900 to BB OS version 4.6.1.239 and got far more juice from the battery than with the default 4.6.1.141

I was hoping that the upgrade, plus the new battery would then give me at least 33% baterry life increase, but it surpased the standard battery life about 20% at. And that was over the fisrt 2 weeks. Over time, it has lost power or charge, and it feels like it drains almost as fast as the OEM one.

Bought two of these batteries from SF Planet in June 2009 and by October they wouldn't hold a charge. SF wouldn't accept a return, because over 30 days had passed. They are not as good as the original batteries, which lasted a couple years. My advice: If you do buy cheap batteries, don't expect them to last, and be prepared to follow up with the vendor as soon as you suspect they won't hold a charge.

I've been using this SEIDO 1650 mAh Li-ion battery for about a month now. It fits perfectly inside my Blackberry Bold battery space so no new back cover needed. No cell phone malfunctions from using this battery so far. The SEIDO battery is longer lasting than my original Blackberry factory (I think 1000 mAh) battery, which lasted about 2 full days before I recharged, and the SEIDO lasts about 3 days before recharge. Of course I never run the battery down to one bar before recharging. I'm happy with purchase.

I actually have two of these batteries. They were ok for the first few weeks. Then they started to discharge so fast that don't even last me for 6 hours. To be honest, regular OEM batterries perform much better then this crap. I would NOT recommend this product.
