As another person commented, I don't find earbud types comfortable. I find these earphones quite comfortable -- once they're in place. They are a little awkward for someone wearing eyeglasses -- too much stuff fitting behind the ear. I have to remove my eyeglasses before hooking the earhooks around my ear, THEN put my glasses back on.

I have had a pair of these for years. I was astonished and delighted to find that they still made them. The drivers are smaller than the ones in the old over the head headphones but much larger than the ear phones. What that means (and why I originally bought them) is that they don't distort like ear phone but they are louder (because they take less power to drive) than typical earphones. I have abused these things for a very very long time and came looking to replace them because the foam is torn out from use... not because they have gone bad... not because the speakers are bad but because I've used them until they have become unusable. How long has it been since you could say that about anything you have purchased in the last 10 years? I originally used them for the typical reasons mp3 or CD players but 4 years ago my girlfriend (now wife) moved in and we have our computers very close together so in the past 4 years they have been getting A LOT of use. In that 4 years she has gone through countless pairs of head phones due to being cheap, poor quality and not being able to take the abuse. I on the other hand have been making due with my OLD Sony clip on ear phones and just decided to hit up the old amazon because the foam being deteriorated was simply annoying me. When I saw them still available I had to order a pair and leave a review. Enjoy!!!

I love these headphones i started using them 6 years ago and they have never failed me. through the 6 years that I've used them i have only had to buy new ones 2 or 3 times. they're not for everyobody but i like the style because ear-bud headphones always fall out of my ears and these clip on without falling off. i have to give it a 5/5 on durability because they last a very long time.

The sound quality and reception range are much better than my old non-brand one. It automatically shuts down the volume when you are moving away from the sound source so that you won't be bothered by the loud noise. It's also comfortable to wear. The only problem is that you cannot directly charge standard rechargeable batteries in the unit. You can only plug them in after charging them externally. The little squares around the otherwise standard rechargeable batteries are needed to charge in the unit. The official replacement batteries (bp-hp550) can be very expensive compared with the price of the headphone.

When my headphones arrived they were in perfect working order, they worked great for the first week. After that they would increase in volume for literally a second followed my a audio "pop" then base would shutoff. This happens about every 5 min. Unplugging base made them work again for a short period but who wants to do that . I don't recommend these headphones at all.

Pros: the base is heavy and has rubber feet, it just works, like most universal docks it includes various baseplates for various ipod models

Cons: short cable (slightly over 3 ft.)

Technically, it does work with my iphone 3GS. When plugged in, the iphone brings up a prompt saying that the accessory is not compatible and asks if you'd like to switch to airplane mode to reduce audio interference. I haven't quite figured out what that's all about, but I did not switch to airplane mode and the audio seems to work just fine. The ipod touch baseplate seems to fit the iphone (logically). Unfortunately, the case I have on my iphone (CaseMate Barely There Acrylic Case) prevents it from fitting in the ipod touch baseplate so I just didn't put in a baseplate at all (not ideal, but it works). That particular iphone case is, in fact, barely there, so I think it's safe to say this would be a problem with *all* iphone cases. The remote for my stereo does not control the ipod functions while my phone is docked as it is supposed to (so yeah, I guess the accessory really isn't compatible). As of this reviewing, the reviews for TDM-iP50 have one person claiming it does work with the 3gs and one person claiming that it does not. I suspect that the 3gs situation there is the same as with this dock so I won't be doing an exchange.

I purchased this item and within minutes plugged it to my Sony receiver. Ipod fits snug and no chance of falling off. It's nice that it charges the player as well. At first music sounded boomy, but once I read the manual that came w/ the dock it explained how to change the settings in the Ipod for better sound. It works great and it's a welcomed addition to my home theater.
Just make sure that you have a Sony receiver that supports DMP (Digital Media Port) plug.
I would recommend to all.

I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with it. It works very well with my Sony HT-SS2300 Home Theater System and I can use the remote control to scroll thru my music on my iPod. You can't see the iPod menu on the T.V screen but I have seen some other models that do and I was not impressed, the menus looked old and out dated as if you were looking at an Atari system from the 80's. So if you just want to listen to music from your iPod it is worth it to buy this Cradle.

Bought this for my son, who had purchased the larger stereo system that had the dock as an 'extra' The dock from the origional system was bumped off a table and broken, so this purchase was to replace that.

My son is thrilled with this. States that his Ipod fits better in this one than the origional one that came with the stereo. The price was the best I found on the web ( of course I consider shipping into the total cost of the item) So far so good. I would buy another one from here I needed to.

I HIGHLY recommend these headphones to anyone! These have the sound quality of $400 headphones for well less than $100. They are unbelievably comfy too, which is actually pretty important when your working on or just listening to music all day.

My only problem with them is the fact that they aren't as durable as your typical $300^ studio monitors. They're mainly plastic and they could theoretically crack if you were to sit on them or something. However, you just have to remember that you only paid about $70 for them!!! Everything else about these monitors are AMAZING. You just have to make a conscious effort to take care of them.

I am an electroacoustic composer so I need a perfect representation of the sounds that I make. I used to have to go to the studio in order to hear it on awesome speakers. Now, I can just work at home because these headphones are truly that good!

There are no sound canceling functions on these headphones BUT the padding is such that I can hardly even hear myself breath.

PROS:

Super comfy. Almost usable as earmuffs!!! When music isn't playing, I sometimes forget they're on my head!
Super cheap. You are NOT going to find a better quality product for this price. Fact!
Sound quality is pretty much as good as you can possibly get!
Chord stretches pretty far. Quarter inch AND eighth inch. Flexible.
Bass response is awesome!
Sony gives a ton of buffer room for frequency response! 5 hz to 30,000 hz!?!?!?! Overkill!
Super quiet ear cups.

CONS:

Almost all plastic. So, there's a potential to break.
If you're moving around a lot, you can occasionally hear a plastic on plastic creaking/friction sound. This rarely happens however. You'd have to be REALLY moving around.

SUMMARY:

Seriously, if you're looking for REALLY AWESOME studio monitor headphones, there is no reason NOT to buy these! If you're that worried about durability, BUY 2 OF THEM!

I used to think these are good but as I realized it was more a placebo thing because 1) I used to think Sony makes the best electronics so it would naturally include headphones 2) I was ignorant in the world of headphones. Do your research, Sony is not even close to being in par with the best headphones manufacturers like Sennheiser, Grado, and AKG. These brands are, in my opinion, the best in the business. After listening to jazz with my AKG 702 and switching over to the Sony, I feel like just throwing this piece of garbage on the wall like really hard. The sound coming from it sucks so bad in comparison with my AKG. Don't believe me? Read all the bad reviews in any review web site, not just this site, and you will hear the same thing: muddy. Sony headphones sound muddy. I own 3 Sony headphones and they all have the same characteristics: loud, muddy, and bassy. Now 1 and 3 are not bad qualities, but 2 is just unacceptable for anyone looking for good sound. Now these will for sure sound better than really cheap portable headphones or your ipod buds, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are any good.

I am a huge audiophile and I listen to music ALL the time. Mostly hip hop and rap, with a little pop, R&B, and rock. I have tried countless headphones over the years: various Skullcandies (SK Pro, Ti, Skullcrusher), Sennheiser HD 280, Beats by Dr. Dre, and these. The best headphones in this list are the Beats and these Sonys. The only difference is that the Beats have slightly better bass. However, if you dont want to pay $300 just for slightly better bass, then they are otherwise the exact same headphone. The Sonys have superb sound quality: its a whole different experience listening to music, i heard effects and little touches in the songs that ive never heard with any other headphone. Durability is FANTASTIC: ive heard complaints about the vinyl leather coming off, but ive had mine for 6 years, and had no problems. Unless youre going to scratch it off with your nails, that wont be a problem. Also, i keep them in the outside pocket of my backpack, which gets thrown around a lot, and they have NO damage. BEST HEADPHONES BY FAR.

pros:
-excellent sound quality- the bass is great (that's a given) but I was a little worried about the mids and highs, after using some of their earbuds. Turns out Sony has designed these headphones extremely well and sound quality in all ranges is crystal clear and supported
-comfortable- it really is like having pillows on the side of your head. The extensive foam padding is memory foam or something and after a while you don't even feel them. If it weren't for the heat buildup you might forget you're wearing them.
-draws attention- they're definitely the biggest headphones i've ever seen and I'm assuming everyone is just as interested.
-Well built- this unit feels solid and everything is securely attached.
-flat cord- reduces tangles

cons:
-big, not very portable- i mean, you can't fold them down for easier packing. Probably not very ideal for trips, or really putting them in any bags since they're so bulky
-draws attention- this can be good or bad depending on your personality and whether you like attention. Personally I don't give a damn so this wasn't really a con for me, but might be for others.
-HEAT- I think the biggest con is the heat buildup- it can get uncomfortable after a while.

Overall:
I really like these headphones and the cons, in my opinion, are almost negligible compared to the pros. I'll probably include updates as to the longevity of these headphones, but for the moment I highly recommend them.

First off i just want to say that i use mine for casual listening music and movies mainly.
They have the best comfort you re gunna get if a headset period. They perform very well from the bass to the tremble but not overly amazing but def very good. For durability the cord is very tough with good sound construction of the rest of the headphones. They are very light and stay on my head very well. I wouldnt buy them for running for anything but they re fine for walking around. I would def buy them agian and am buying the 50mm ones right now just to see if they re even better.
For the price id say it is a excellent buy.

Yes, they are very comfortable and have deep bass. But the bass overwhelms everything. If you prefer a balanced sound with deep bass, this is not the pair for you; you will hear -only- the bass. In addition, if you compress the headphones onto your head, the pressure will immediately damage the speakers and you will start to hear crackling noise when in use.

I bought this after reading many of the reviews here and elsewhere. The sound is quite good, and for the price and functionality, exactly what I was looking for in these types of headphones. I wanted something that blocked out the sound from the airplane when I am traveling, but yet the ears should not get overly hot.

I love the comfort of the big cushions, even though that increased the size of the device overall. I also really like the flat cords for storage, as it seems get tangled up less in my bags.

Overall, I would buy these again, and it seems to function better than the noise-canceling headphones I have bought in the last 5-10 years.

I purchased this Sony Walkman after searching endlessly for an IPOD. I did not really want to spend the amount of money the IPODs were going for and did not feel I needed all the extras the IPODs offered. Some of the features such as video shooting on the IPODS is useless to me, because this feature is on my cell phone, so I didn't feel it was necessary to spend the extra funds on a music device that offered features I did not feel I would use. I am very practical and I just want to listen to good music and clearity, crisp sound. The Sony Walkman E-340 Series provided me with exactly that, amazing clear sound and the ability to upload my music from my PC onto my device. It also comes with radio capability, which I was looking for as well. Some of the other features, such as the video & photo features I have not tried yet (for uploading videos onto the device not recording as with some of the IPODS), but these were not the features that brought me to purchase the devise either, as I stated above, it was the simplicity of the device itself. I may find it useful at some point, but for now I am enjoying what I purchased the device for, to listen to music! The device is user friendly and I purchased it in black which looks very sleek! It is lightweight and easily fits in any small purse or pocket. I purchased the 6 piece set and it came with an arm band that you can use when working out, and a protective rubber cover (although could only use about 3 peices out of the set?). I am even able to use my Garmin AC/DC adapter with it, as one did not come with it. The device did come with some nice headphones, however. The organizing of your music may not be as A+ as with the more expensive IPOD brands, but I knew this from reading one or two of the reviews before I purchased the device, so this was not an issue for me, i just click the back button on the device, which takes you to the home menu, scroll to the center using the arrow in the center of the device, then click on the music note icon in the center,and I m able to locate a song or artist from my music library. I am enjoying this device as it was well worth the price I paid for it!

"Rather Dissapointing Step Backwards" 2010-04-30

Explanation below - quick summary for those that don't want to read.

On a recent trip I lost my Sony 4 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player with FM Tuner (Red) which was the best mp3 player I've ever owned. Great sound, the video feature was cool, the radio was nice, it was pretty much all way ahead of what was available in the corresponding nano at the time - and for less. It was very compact, smooth and came with good headphones. I'm extremely ticked at myself for losing it.

I got home and ordered what looked to be the latest iteration of what I had. Unfortunately this E-344 isn't close to the same level of quality. The case is larger, all made of plastic and toy-ish feeling and the ends are shaped at weird angles that make it much more difficult to slip into a pocket. The new button layout seems to be an attempt to look like the ipod wheel, but it's impossible to tell what button is in use by touch. The old raised buttons were great on a dark flight. Now I've got to pull this thing out and look at it. The buttons are also very cheap feeling and very loud. They make a loud clicking noise when pressed.

For some reason Sony changed the video format. It used to be similar to what would play on the ps3. WinFF had walkman presets that worked great. They've switched it on this player to a proprietary Windows format not supported by ffmpeg, or probably any free tools for that matter as the new format requires a royalty for software that creates it.

The walkman comes with software that will convert video files and transfer them to the mp3 player. I can't find any documentation on what kind of files it will take, so I've been just trying different stuff out. So far, only .avi files seem to work. It's using DivX to do that, something a lot of people don't have on their computers. I'm not sure what people who aren't running windows can do. This is a incredibly poor choice for a video format.

On top of that, while the screen is larger than my old walkman, when the videos get formatted they are put into a size that doesn't use the full screen. The videos are actually boxed with black bars above and below. On a 2 inch screen. That's absolutely ridiculous. Why should buying a newer version of a device mean moving backward?

When the device is connected to the PC, it has a white circle that is shown with some messages about status. I plugged it in when I got it to charge it up and sync over my music. Now that white circle is burned into the display and I can see it when watching videos. Along with the outline of some of the words that appear below it. This is after having it for 2 days. I am struggling with going through the hassle of returning it or just letting it ride. If you are a perfectionist about this stuff, this is something to consider.

If I want playlists, and I do, I have to use Windows Media Player. It's interface for working with the walkman is awful. Playlists can't be made on the device. You have to make them on the pc, add them to the 'sync tab' and then sync them over. When making playlists, it isn't possible to view what music is already on the walkman. If that's not poor design I don't know what is. I can get what I want but the effort involved is completely out of line with how it ought to be.

So I've listed all my gripes, here are the good parts.

The sound is not bad. It's pretty good and the player has a great price. So when it's all said and done, at the gym or on the road I can listen to my music and it will sound all right.

The biggest thing Sony did right was switching to micro usb for the connection to the device. All mp3 players should do this. I can connect with cables I already have. I don't have to worry about losing the one magical sony cable or what it will cost to replace it. I always have some around for my phone, portable hard drives, etc. When I'm on traveling I don't have to worry about a bunch of power adapters - I can charge my phone, mp3 player, etc. from my laptop with a standard cable. That's nice. So if I could get back my old walkman with this new usb connector it would be the best mp3 player of all time.

But as this thing is, I couldn't really recommend this to anyone. You can do better without spending too much more.

I bought this MP3 player because of Sony's reputation for delivering high quality sound. I have had a the same problems with the video as a few other people, but two of my issues come not from the player (which sounds great), but from the extras included.

1. The headphones/earbuds- MY BIGGEST ISSUE: One would think, given how long the Walkman has been around (and how popular it is has been) that not only would Sony include a pair of quality sounding earbuds (my Phillips Magnavox earbuds sound superior to these), but would also think to include a pair of earbuds with an L-jack, instead of a straight jack. I posessed many pairs of earbuds from Radio Shack back in the 1980's, and the downfall of the straight headphone jack is that it would almost ALWAYS lead to a short in the wiring from excessive movement, especially if you have to wait a few weeks to buy the armband, and have it stowed in the pocket of you jacket, pants, shorts, or otherwise.
2. The Sony Walkman interface-Incredibly difficult to use, especially when syncing videos to your Walkman. You need the exact video conversion rate for this to work properly. you're better off using WMP.

I have not had any problems with syncing songs or creating playlists, so I am very happy with the sound quality of the Walkman itself, and with the storage capacity. I do wish however, that they would have been more thoughtful of the consumer when choosing the extras to include with this player. Some people leading a more active lifestyle would undoubtedly be grateful.

It works well for downloading all my favorite music (which is the only thing I really wanted it for!)I highly recommend it for the "newby" to computer devices. Also the price is just right!

I have to admit: this case looks a bit like a tire tread.

But I love its functionality!

It slips on or off in two seconds (literally), fully covering the back and perimeter of the device (in my case, an iPod touch 3G) while leaving the screen exposed and the cable/earphone jacks accessible. The on/off, home, and volume buttons are covered yet respond perfectly to pressure/touch through the case. It's practically weightless and adds minimal bulk. It shows no smudges or fingerprints (but is washable if there's a need) and feels good in the hand -- the supple rubberized material creates some drag so the device won't slip out of your grasp or slide off a table. I did think the wi-fi responded a little more slowly the first time I accessed it with this case on, but now I don't notice a delay.

Highly recommended! I combined it with PowerSupport's crystal film TU301LL/A (to protect the screen surface) and a BuiltNY neoprene Digital Case (when traveling).

I just got this product today for running and I already have no confidence in it. The sleeve is all that bad but the arm band junk, it barely fit over my arm which not that big. The sleeve latches to the band using the belt loop using a low quality Velcro that will age very fast with use. The travel case okay but not that great I would rather go with a polycarb case. This not what you want to use at all.

I currently use a Sony Mp3 player, model # NWZ-S615F, and the only reason I ordered this little piece of junk was because my Sony isn't compatible with Audible. What a big mistake. First of all, it never fully charges. Doesn't matter how long it's plugged, it only charges about 2/3 of the way. Second, you can't turn it on/off without losing where you left off. I am constantly listening to audio books, and to have to fast-fwd through hours of content to see where I left off is ridiculous. I am not happy at all. I'm sticking with my Sony and screw Audible.

I was please with this product for the first few months. Even if I had to charge the battery daily, it was a nice portable unit, and the size is outstanding.
However, when I deleted songs off of it today, and replaced with new titles, I unplugged it from the computer, and the unit went blank. It will no longer turn on.
Spend a bit more of your hard earned money, and get something that will last longer.

My last MP3 player was an RCA Lyra. Good enough for me, but big, and it chewed through battery like nobody's business. This SANSA on the otherhand has all the features I'm happy to get with a small portable MP3 device. It plays music. Records dictation if I need it. And it even gets FM radio. Really, if you aren't exanding into a video device this has everything in one package. A shame that SANSA seems to have moved on to a newer form factor. I like this size and shape, and especially like that it can plug right into the USB port, which means I don't need any cables. Just the player and headphones/earbuds and I'm good to go.

I purchased the 1GB version 3 years ago at Be5t8uy for $50. My little brother, who was a (poor) college student at the time, liked it so much that I purchased the 2gb version from Amazon for him. ...A while later, after noticing me use this as a flash_drive/microSD_reader my brother-in-law returned his !pod Touch and got this instead... That should say volumes.

As an mp3 player this thing rocks. It has flawless sound quality, and more playback features/options (sleep mode, equalizer, etc..) than Apple or Sony.

As a USB flash drive and a microSD card reader it works very well, though I have not tested it with the newer microSDHC memory cards.

Good battery life, small size, FM radio and voice recording, cool 1-way-mirror LED screen.

There is no built-in speaker, and the display is somewhat harder to read in full sunlight than others due to it's smaller size and mirror finish.

My little brother ran-over his while snow-boarding and the volume button broke off, the player continued to work though.

I kept mine on a key-chain with my Gerber Knife, which eventually scratched the pristine mirror-finish of the display (probably shouldn't have been playing with my knife while it was in my pocket anyway).

..I am half-tempted to purchase another b/c not very many places sell these anymore...

I purchased this product in January. It is clumsy and less than intuitive to use. The manual is not helpful. Online forums are not helpful. When the 800 number is called you discover that only email support is available for this product. Which means you send an email and they send back a suggested fix. Then you send another email they respond with another suggested fix. 24 hour lag time each way. Finally, they offerred to replace it. Wait for the return authorization then wait for the new player to arrive. All this time I am without an MP3 player. Very frustrating. And you guessed it. Received the new player and had problems immediately. Don't buy this product. I wouldn't buy any Sansa product.

Have had excellent success charging my Sansa Clip + 8 GB with none of the heating or difficulties mentioned in some of the other reviews. I've also used the charger on my older Sansa 1GB with success and no heating. Haven't had a chance to try the car charger, but would rarely use that. The silicone skin worked OK on my 8GB, but required a little trimming modification on the back due to the different spring clip than the 1 GB. Recommend this product.

The case fits well, it will protect the player. Neither the Car nor the Home Travel Charger fit the Sandisk Sansa Clip 8MG Mp3 player. I emailed the Customer Service and they replaayed asking me for the SKU# by the bar code on the item packaging. I just got it but I'm really impressed. The sound quality is amazing. I was able to plug in an sd card that is in my cell phone. I put play lists on the device itself and I have discographies on the sd. I didn't need a "preloaded" card like they say.

There is no cover for the sd slot but the slot is very small. Once I put the card in the slot is completely covered. I'm not too worried about anything getting in it. There's no cover for the computer cord slot either.

I also DID NOT have to download rapsody. I just used windows media player which is my favorite music to device program. I hate itunes and zune, so I'm really happy! The device does come with a card/warning that says you should use rapsody if you want all the features on your device to work but this device only plays music there's no video or anything so I don't think that's true.

The red is glittery. It's just black all over except for the front (I really don't get why the black is more). My contacts are dry and it's pretty late but it almost looks purple, maybe burgundy or magenta. It's not masculine at all, hope this doesn't offend anyone. Like it almost looks... dark pink. It gets smudged REALLY easily. It's kind of gross. I'll live though you should see my ipod.

The clip is NOT removable. I read a review that someone took off the clip to put on a silicon case, there's no way you could do that.

It's smaller than the screen on my ipod video (60 GB ipod "classic"). It's very light weight. I have to admit it felt cheap when I finally got it out of the annoying packaging sandisk put it in. It packs a punch though, great sound quality and the screen is really nice. Someone said the LED burns out but I'm not worried because the screen turns off once you pick a song and let it run it's course. It does light up non-stop when it's plugged in to your computer though, this is really annoying.

The Archos 705 is one of the loves of my life! I love this product. It has phenomenal capabilities. The picture quality is awesome and I am still amazed at the quality everytime I watch a movie. The volume is not as loud as others without the headset but it is perfect for watching movies in the office and not disturbing others so I am very satified. If I need to hear better I plug in the headset and the volume quality is awesome. I can't say enough about the Archos. They are #1 in my opinion. Outstanding machine, plays music, holds a lot of data, the widgets are awesome for surfing just about anything you want to know about. This machine is great!

- Very bad support (their preferred and unique "solution" is "format the hard drive")
- You'll probably have to buy an additional couple of "plug-ins" for this device to be really useful for online use (watching MP4 movies, listening to internet radio or watch internet TV, etc.)
- expensive - at that price you can buy a nice little laptop that can do so much more
- batteries only hold for a few minutes when viewing movies online after only a few months usage
- weak sound from the built-in loudspeakers and even when using the head pieces that come with the Archos
- problems with frequent disconnections of the Wifi - making the device mostly useless for online use
Conclusion:
I won't buy Archos again.
Their products look good on paper but are rather disappointing in real life.

i bought this item beacause i love new gadgets and have to say it is pretty awsome . pictures display very nice , music plays great altho speaker sound is a little low on some stuff and other stuff it is louder . movies , tv shows are awsome , i have a mini dlink 323 storage tank with 2000 gigs of movies ,tv shows, and music , what i noticed is if you connect to network storage through the movie button some stuff plays but vob files did not , so i played around with it for awhile and figured out if you clik on files from the home screen ,network , storage tank and go into movie with vob files clik on the first .ts file or vob presto it plays fine and when u navigate through your network from the files button it seems to play much more content than navigating from the movies button , little tip for newbies. yeah it could be a little faster on the web and there are some flash issues but this is one cool device , i bought the 605 wifi first didn,t know they had the 705 with the bigger screen and once i saw it i had to have it, the 7" screen is great , touscreen could be a little more sensitive sometimes you have to press a little harder , and the ease of use could be a little better , but i got my dvr and recorded die hard on to it and once u learn how to record on to it , its pretty easy, haven't hooked it up in my car yet but i have to try it soon , the price for what this bad boy toy can do i think is pretty fair considering the price of other similar devices out the and what they can't do or the tiny screen they have. it would have been nice to plug my phone modem into to acces internet like the new archos 5 can do but maybe in a firmware update who knows, before i saw these i bought a zune 120 got to tell u after seeing and using achos 705 wifi what a waste of money zune was for the price of 338 compared to what it does for that price . i mean archos plays most of the content out there and zune u have to convert just about everything , hope this helps some of u , i love my archos and will probably buy the arcos 5 or the 9 next , this thing is just awsome awsome awsome ha ha.

"Piece of $10 Junk" 2010-04-29

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

After spending a while to get it lined up correctly and spraying with an air can to keep the dust away, the thing only lasted about 1 week on the cmaera. I have a Lumix DMC-FZ35 and wore the camera around my neck to take photos. It was seated correctly and one edge began to curl up and no matter howm many times it was placed back it kept coming up. Eventually I just ripped it off. And that is what this product is. A $10.00 RIP OFF. You would be better to go to Ebay and buy something cheaper to keep replaing when needed then to buy this JUNK. Also, installation was difficult and unless you work in a clean room (no dust) something is going to get on this thing and cause a bubble. You can remove the dust but it needs to be done carefully as not to scratch or remove the adhesive. Any bubbles and it looks terrible.

If you are the type of person that gets it done right on the first try, then this would be for you...but I believe most of us don't get it done right on they first try. I got this product and was not able to install it onto my Archos5 on the first try, but when I tried it again it just would not go right at all. Ended up getting lint particles on it and it just looked like a mess once it was on my Archos...ended up taking it off and throwing it away. TOTAL waste of Money!!!

If you're going to buy a screen protector for your Archos 5 I recommend this one. Lexerd is a reliable company, they quickly sent me a new screen protector after I scratched mine up when trying to apply it. Now that it's on it fits nicely and even makes the screen feel smoother. Your fingers glide across the screen more easily and I couldn't be happier. If I could give you some advice.. read the instructions before attempting to apply it! also use the little finger protectors they give you to prevent lint from getting on the screen.

The screen protector got dust and fuzz on it before i even got it on the screen. When i finally got it on the screen there were bubbles that would not come out, so i just took it off and threw it in the trash. This was a waste of $15 and my time, i would not recommend this product to anyone.

I had this same product previously but wore it out so I purchased another. It's a very user-friendly carry case that allows me to use the full functionality of the iTouch without having to remove it from the case. The sound is not obstructed or restricted by the case and it's smooth leather-like exterior is classy and durable. The handy belt clip is sturdy and holds well on the belt. The case does a nice job of protecting the iTouch and I'm pretty rugged on it. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another when this one wears out. It was shipped quickly and I'm happy with the purchase.

The price is right for this little jewel. It makes a wonderful second iPod for work. I can clip this to my collar and the device and headsets stay out of the way. The only complaint was the propriatary headset, but Belkin has a work around with their adaptor. The price on amazon is the big thing.

I was hesitant after reading all the bad reviews, but I have had mine for several months now with no problems whatsoever. I use it at the gym, running, commuting on the train. The controls do take a little finesse and care, but nothing dramatic. The size is amazing - its very convenient and for once I don't have to buy a case for an apple product.

Good for working out. Just be weary of the cord length. Best spot to place it is on a bicep band or bandana wrapped around the arm and on the sleeve of a cut off. I don't use it as my everyday ipod, i have a 3rd gen nano for that. The remote is fine, i haven't had problems with it yet. But due to all the bad reviews basing them off the crap quality of the remote. Ear phones are ok as in sound is fine but the right ear phone won't stay in place when running or at all. It likes to fall out and if i wrap it over the ear, the remote gets in the way. Voice over is nice but the shuffle likes to play a lot of the same songs over and over again. To remind the readers of this review. The shuffle is supposed to be simple and easy to use, take into consideration you are buying something that shouldn't be used everyday. The customers this type of mp3 player is aimed at are people who walk alot or run alot or work out alot that want something simple that plays music. Btw if you do buy the shuffle, just a reminder to read a lot of reviews on remote headphone adapters for the shuffle before you buy them. I'm frugal so i like to save as much money as i can anywhere i can.

Suggestions for the next gen

- longer cord for the ear buds
- better ear bud design, would prefer apple's in-ear ear buds ( for the price of the shuffle)
- better placement of remote
- micro usb or micro version of original ipod jack to the bottom, would be nice because i want to use my nike+ thing on the shuffle
- have a remote adapter so that we consumers aren't stuck with a useless mp3 player when the original headphones die
- have trusted brands make sturdy solid functioning remote adapters
- charge less for apple's and the worlds most basic mp3 player
- remote with a screen? (may be overkill on their main idea of simplest mp3 player)
- belkin sucks, i don't recommend their products with apple or at all, it is sad that for how much belkin is pushing their products i see no improvement in quality or longer life of function.

I already own the 2nd generation, and love it, but my husband wanted and iPod also. I read all the reviews warning not to buy the 4th generation iPod shuffle. I still decided to buy it, because I like that you can put different playlists on it, because I play my music over the speakers at work, and not all my songs are work appropriate. With my 2nd generation, I was having to switch the music all the time, and didn't always have the songs I wanted. So, with the warnings in mind, I purchased the control adapter cord before it even arrived so I could control my music wherever I plugged it in (I hate iPod earbuds anyway). I also bought the silicone case to protect it. It seems to be pretty sturdy, and once you figure out the controls, its super easy to use. Just be ready to drop an extra $20 on an adapter cord for the controls if you plan on listening to it with anything other than the iPod earbuds.

It seemed to work ok, but twice (in the three times I used it) it has blown the fuse in the cigarette-lighter circuit of my car (a 15-amp circuit). I don't feel like buying more fuses, so I will not be using it again. Don't waste your money on this item.

I was hesitant when purchasing this item, assuming I would "get what I payed for", but this is not the case. To my pleasant surprise, this product actually works, and it was under 14 bucks including shipping. The sound quality is very good (some high frequencies when music isn't playing), and the item is sleek.

Buy this item if:
*You want to effectively play and charge your ipod,
*You drive an automatic (so it will not interfere with your stick shift on standards),
*You own an iTouch or iPhone.

DO NOT buy this item if:
*You drive a standard vehicle,
*You own anything but an iTouch or iPhone,
*You want the "best of the best".

Also, the remote does not work unless you point directly to the transmitter, which is located at the top (it's useless).

The transmitter part of this unit is excellant. The sound quality with use of the iPod portion of my phone is amazing. Crystal clear with no interference.
I do have a few complaints though:
1. There are no detailed instructions on how to use handsfree included. There are minimal instructions on the outside of the box.
2. The handsfree portion of this device is garbage! Not only is it a pain to have to plug in the cord from the device to the phone just to use this part of it, but the sound quality through the car speakers was horrible! (although the person I was talking to did say I was clear). Then to have to unplug the cord again to get back to using the iPod.
3. It doesnt work with my Outerbox case on the phone, therefore I have to take everything off just to use it. The plastic piece that connects to the phone is too wide, and doesnt fit in the slot in the Outerbox.

I bought two of these, for both my and my wife's car. Frankly, I bought it because it was cheap and did not expect much. But it works beautifully. Using the default 88.1 frequency, I get static free very good (but not great - Hey, it's a transmitter) sound quality, even though a local station is on 88.3. The only complaint is that on accelleration, I can hear a slight elctronic whine through the speakers, but it's bearable. Last weekend, I thought it had broken and purchased a $75 Griffin Itrip transmitter at Best Buy to listen to New Orleans Jazzfest live on WWOZ through my Iphone 3G. It had static on all frequencies, essentially sounded like a crappy AM radio. Turns out, my frequency setting on the GTMax had bumped up to 88.7. Now I'm back enjoying WWOZ, Pandora, and ooTunes on my daily commute. The Griffin Itrip is going back to Best Buy, and I am seriously considering dropping XM. Why pay $16 monthly when you can listen to great stations like WWOZ and your own Pandora stations for FREE!

Do not buy this product if you have an I POD TOUCH. I have purchased 2 of these products. If your cigarette lighter port is on the main consol, this product does not work. It doesn't form a tight enough seal between the base unit and lighter creating connection problems. Also the touch is too top heavy and continuosly swings round and does not remain static.

I did not want to star this item but did not have the option.

A poor cheaply made ineffective product. Waste of money!!

"Uncomfortable and will NOT stay in your ear." 2010-05-04

I love Sony Products, and I've owned several pair of Sony earbuds over the years. However, these are some of the most poorly designed earbuds I've ever encountered. They have some serious design issues. No matter which size rubber cushion I choose, they WILL NOT stay in my ears. If I turn my head one inch, they fall in my lap. If I don't push them in very far, I can't hear anything. If I push them in further, they are very painful as if I'm going to damage my ear and/or my hearing. If I wear them for 30 minutes, my ears will hurt for hours afterward from the discomfort.

Please do not waste your money on these. They sound great as long as you hold your breath and stay very very still. However, unless you plan on using superglue to hold them in place, you're just going to be frustrated. I really do like Sony products, but I highly regret this purchase.

I was looking for a replacement pair of headphones that sounded good, lasted a long time, and that I would thoroughly enjoy. The Sony MDR-XB40EX were in a list of choices I was considering; including another Sony pair, a klipsch (spelling?) pair, and the v-moda fuze headphones. I tried all of them, and ended up loving these the most of all of them. I have always loved Sony for it's sleek styling, products lasting a long time, and the overall strength/sturdiness...
---To the point: The Sony's are comfortable, stylish, sound amazing, and are relatively cheap. Comfort-wise, the flat cord is so smooth, and when in contact with skin(under my shirt usually) it warms up quickly. The flat cord also seems to add strength, as well as being somewhat tangle-proof; which is absolutely epic when tossed in my pocket. Now as you can see, these Sony's are pretty darn stylish... and if you don't think so... well that's you. Most people I see on the streets say "what the heck are those... Where'd you get them?... they are so cool!". Okay, now the sound, the sound is wow. I love lows, so for me it's great! The highs are strong and all there also, and the impedance is low which helps you get full sound. The mid range is left out at some times, but that is something that doesn't even faze me. Lastly, for $[...] MSRP, not to mention the $[...] I got them for on Amazon.com... So resonably priced for these headphones. Especially since I don't have to ship skullcandy's bi-weekly. Firs of all, this are my first in-ear buds so it took me a while to get used to them because I didn't know how deep they should be and had issues to determine which tip size I should use but after passing a few weeks using them I just can say they are awesome!!

Bass quality is really good, you can almost feel a bass vibration in your chest like if you were in front of big speakers (just kidding). Seriously, if you wanna feel the bass, these earbuds do the job and not only at low frecuencies, mid range and high ones also get improved.

Music sounds clear, rich, and I guess it helps a bit that they isolate external sounds almost completely and you can enjoy what you're listening a lot better hearing sounds that i can bet for sure, you didn't know they were there.

The cable has a very high quality, it feels solid, it's very flexible and never gets tangled. Just shake them and they get loose, it's very cool.

Finally, they are not as heavy as they could seem to be. You feel them all of the time but it vanishes smoothly as you hear something you like.

Right out of the box they sound GREAT! They even come with a clip for your clothes. Pretty handy if you like to exercise a lot. They feel a little over-sized but they aren't uncomfortable and they fit very snug in the ear. We will see how they hold up...

"Strong and Deep Bass." 2010-04-21

These work as advertised, the bass is strong, and it blocks out a lot of exterior noise. The fit is comfortable. I find that the larger size cups sound better, and fit more securely. As for sound, I've been searching for headphones that sound more like a home theater than elevator speakers. These do an admirable job, not perfect, but very good. Even though the bass is emphasized, the higher frequencies are clear. If you like listening to strings or horns, then these loose some brightness. I wouldn't recommend these for classical or jazz. When compared to my MDR-CD770 (50mm, closed type) the 770s sound much flatter, and brighter, but the lower bass is weak. Frquencies below 35 Hz seem to drop rapidly in volume. The EX40s not only emphasize the bass, but it's also deeper. The bass stays strong down to 25 Hz, then begins to fall off. I can hear a 15 Hz tone, but it's relatively weak. It'll get lost amongst the other frequencies, but oh does it sound good. When listening to music with good bass, the deepest bass notes come through loud and clear, whereas you could barely hear it with other headphones.

The fit is a little difficult to get used to. You have to press them into your ear canal at just the right angle, or they will leak. These can create a lot of sound pressure, so you'll need to exercise some caution.

"Sony ICFCD3iP Clock Radio" 2010-05-10

Great clock radio for the cost. All elements work as described. Easy to use with the three main functions (radio, CD player, iPod dock). Of note is that this model has the "Sleep" function and can be programmed in half hour blocks up to 90 minutes to play music from any of the three functions while you go to sleep. Sound quality is ok, acceptable from unit design. The iPod dock is easy to use and the iPod plays well from the dock. The iPod is using the volume level from the iPod, itself, not from the unit. It appears that the iPod is also using the internal speaker (at least from the Touch). Only complaint is the brightness of the dial. It is bright. It's like having a night light in the room, and with the player facing you, it shines directly on you. It should have been designed with a dimmer. Overall, I would recommend the player with the noted concern about the brightness of the dial.

"Broke after one month" 2010-04-25

This product began malfunctioning (specifically: displaying random patterns instead of actual numbers and buttons not responding) and wouldn't reset to a normal state literally a month and a day after we received it in the mail from Amazon. An Amazon rep informed me that since more than a month had passed (even though only a day), Amazon's policy is that we needed to contact the manufacturer directly (but he did say that if the manufacturer couldn't help us, to call Amazon again; I didn't do this so don't know if they would have then helped us or not). Contacting Sony was a complete pain. Long story short, it involved 3 phone calls including long waits on hold and, on top of the inconvenience of it all, we had to pay to ship the malfunctioning product back to them for repair. This cost us $15. A few weeks later we received a new unit back from Sony (not our old one repaired). This new one has worked fine (thus my 2 stars instead of 1 in this review); however, since it's only been about a month that we've had this new one, I'm afraid that any day this one will break too. My experience with this product including the unfortunate need to pay that extra shipping cost has made me want to warn potential buyers not to purchase it.

We bought this for our eight year old daughter and she loves it! She has the Ipod permanently docked, so plays her books on tape each night. She is able to control the book, chapter and volume from the remote control that comes with this unit. Perfect! The display is large and serves as the "nightlight" in her room. I would definitly recommend this product.

One of the best elements of this product is the ease of use. It's easy to figure out, set alarm, set presets, etc. Everything is working wonderfully. I have an iPhone 3G and have no problems with this working, playing, etc. The sound quality is fine for what this is... no, it's not Boze speakers or the quality of your surround sound equipment, but for a simple clock (or portable boom box) it's perfect. I'd recommend this to anyone.

I have a Sharper Image radio with CD player that cost significantly less than this radio, and it sounds significantly better than this radio. Although I didn't spend much time trying to improve on the sound and reception quality, I found the reception to be poor and the sound to be tinny. My iPod sounded quite good, but I can buy iPod speakers for less. I needed the radio. Thankfully, Amazon rocks so I had no trouble returning it.

I purchased this boombox to take with me on a trip with friends to Jamaica. I was expecting it not to play loudly and to go quickly through batteries, because that is what other people had said about this boombox. However, after a week in Jamaica playing it constantly I am still using the same batteries. We were on a beach in Jamaica and didn't need to raise the volume over 5. The only problem is that I have an iPod touch and in order for the iPod to stay in place I had to use a deck of cards to put in between the iPod and player. Otherwise, I am extremely happy with my purchase and can't wait to use it again.

This really meets my needs as a dock for my iPod. The sound is very good, but I listen to lectures and not music. I would definately recommend this to a friend for the same use.
The radio reception has been so, so, but overall I am glad I got it.

My wife didn't consult me when she bought this, she just added it to a bigger order, so when it showed up, I was upset it was a Sony product. But this little white radio has made me very happy! It replaced an aging Aiwa mini boombox in our kitchen, now we turn off the small kitchen television, and rock out while making dinner together! Sound quality is really very good. and the remote makes this a slam dunk. Also the user interface is basic and fast, and the forward stop advance buttons I thought were only CD function buttons controls the iPod as well. Its fantastic. Best little Sony product I have ever owned, and under a hundred bucks makes this a tremendous value... One little note, we have this on top of a shelf, and the angle of the CD screen was designed for a counter height... but it doesn't matter unless your listening to the radio and need to see the display for channel selections. Just keep that in mind if you intend to throw it on top of a fridge or something out of the way...

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 16 year old daughter. It was exactly what I expected and my daughter wanted. She uses it often to play her IPOD. It is not too heavy or large so it's easy to carry room to room.

"Be Very Careful!" 2010-03-24

Purchased this unit after doing a lot of research. The first thing
that should have made me suspicious was the fact that the Samsung
software Emodio did not automatically prompt me for a download nor
was it any where to be seen. I ended up downloading the software
manually myself from the Samsung website. It did not work.
Was able to download the songs to the player using Media Player 12 but was not
able to use the playlist function. After several calls to
Samsung, they tell me that this unit does not work with Windows 7 or
and Media Player 12 that there are some bugs and they have not
worked them out yet. Windows has been out since late last year,
I don't know what is taking them so long. Needless to say, I returned the unit.

Wow..well one out of two ain't bad. I love this MP3 player. Took it to the gym today..Great sound and everything else. The only thing is that I cannot seem to find a good arm band that will fit this thing. I did get the GeeBee Ultimo sports arm band...That did not fit this player. Great MP3 player...Jodiepx
