Ace Race Proto Approved, Renamed Zeppelin

Fans of the 2011 Ace Race prototype disc can now legally use their copies in PDGA competition. The PDGA has approved the disc up the 183 grams in weight, which has been renamed Zeppelin. Information is not yet available on Discraft's plans to release Zeppelin to the general public.

Doss Reclaims #1 World Ranking

In a year that included two NT wins, a Major match play victory and his 3rd World Championship title, it was no surprise that the PDGA has confirmed what every fan had already assumed: Nate Doss is the top-ranked disc golfer in the world. Other notables in the top 20 include Eric McCabe (9), Cale Leiviska (10), Jeremy Koling and Devan Owens (T14) and Gregg Barsby (19). Top ten for the Women's division include Liz Lopez (3), Paige Pierce (4), Sarah Hokom (5) and Catrina Allen (8).

Leicester, MA - Capping an impressive season, Team Discraft's Sarah Hokom fought through a tough field to win her third prestigious NT disc golf event by one throw. She has now left no doubt that Sarah Hokom is a dominant player in Women's pro disc golf. Doss, who has kept his hot hand after winning a third World Title this year, battled through a huge field of top guns to a three shot victory. He threw an average round rating of 1059.

Arlyn is Distance Champ with Z NUKE

It wasn't a new record, but Dion Arlyn came up with a big pull when it counted at the Big D in the Desert distance championships. His final round throw of 223 meters (731 ft) with a Z NUKE driver took the distance title. Big Jerm Koling popped out a monster shot of 236 meters (774 ft) earlier in the competition, which appears to be the longest official Discraft distance throw. Robbie Bratten was also on hand to blast one for 225 meters (738 ft).

The new figure was reported today by PDGA Course Directory editor Cliff Towne, who is currently finalizing the next edition of the print and electronic directory. 2748 represents an increase of 248 courses over 2007 (nine percent), with a total of 2354 courses in the United States and 394 international.
