As many of us are plying in the cold we have had some great runs in our top 10 with many looking to rise within the next few rounds. Make sure you play on colder days if you prefer to stay away from slippery, muddy rounds. If it's cold enough, the ground is like a rock......unfortunately, so is the rest of you.

Winter Wonderland

This winter has been very mild, and we have been very lucky to get in a lot of awesome rounds. This is just one of the wintery rounds we have come across this season. South Mountain was nice at this point, but as the day went on, 10" fell upon the Valley. Members in this Picture include the Top 2 throwers in the league, as well as an up and comer. John Disantis is on the left carrying his 200 plus victory record. Master Pee, our league's Coordinator and Inventor, is on the right sporting his Eagles Jersey and almost 150 wins. Brian Ackey is ready to launch, and Sean Ondush is on the Camera.

We hope to see ya'll on the courses this year, as DiscStars new Season is just around the corner.

We will be heading out as teams to see who can score the lowest best disc score on one of the areas toughest courses. Feel free to bring as many friends as you would like. It's going to be a bit chilly, so don't forget your flannel undies!

Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene is pounding the east coast as we speak, bringing heavy rains and major flooding to our area, and more importantly, to our DISC GOLF COURSES.

To anyone who gets out to play in the next week or two, PLEASE lend a hand in removing any garbage, or brush that may have swept up onto our courses.

It takes a major commitment to keep these parks clean, and with such a huge storm, we will all feel the impact throughout our gameplay.

Thanks to all who check in on the Blog, and to all who give a little, which will help a lot.

Independence Day Doubles Duel

Double D's took over at Jordan on Independence Day, as DiSantis' long drives were complimented by D-Mac's confident putting. The steady duo went bogey free with 5 birdies to go -5 for the day. Young and Ondush played extremely well off each other all day long going par for the course with Pee and Santee following up close behind on a comback going +1. Reid and Bennett had many fine shots, but faded at the end with the loss of Bennett's lucky disc in the "Pig Farm".

We looking forward to another strong outing sure to come in the near future. Thanks to all, as much fun was had by everyone.

Tuesday night Shootouts with Denny

If you have yet to attend a Tuesday Night Shootout at Covered Bridge, you don't know what you're missing!

Every Tuesday night at 6:30, a bring your own team match takes place at Covered Bridge Park in South Whitehall, PA. Today's match was a blast with four teams tied at -10, and three at -9. A -11 was the eventual winner. The field was absolutely stacked with talented local players of all ages and abilities. This is a must-go-to event for up and coming disc golfers in the valley.

The elusive Gold Star

Looks like things are heating up as many of our top throwers are gaining new color as the challenges mount through the weeks. Aaron Santee is our newest Silver Star and John Disantis is not far from reaching the first ever Gold Star with a commanding 83-10 record. As more wins are turned in this week we should see a suddenly strong Chris Direnzo in the ranks as well. Other throwers to watch moving up the ranks include Disantis Jr., Ondush and Mcilhaney. Turn in those losses gentlemen!

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Dale and John of Sedgley Woods for taking the time out of their schedules to meet me on Wednesday for my 1st ever round at Sedley Woods.

Dale definitely "Got Game", as he guided me through Pennsylvania's oldest and most interesting courses with his 30 years of Sedgley experience. Four tee locations made for some quite interesting shots, as each are set up for beginner to pro.

I look forward to getting the rest of the crew down with me for my next round, and hope that you will grace us with your presence again.

Father's Day Nightcap

With his two son's present, John DiSantis was poised to get Father's Day night off to a good start. With the flick of a wrist, "Lefty" let one loose. As his disc soared through the sky, all the players present felt a calmness fill the air.

The chains rattled, and the dark blue disc stuck to the basket. John Sr. had just aced the starter hole at Coverd Bridge Park/Wehrs' Dam for his fourth of the season. It was an honor to have 7 players view such a disc golf accomplishment, but with your two son's present....... PRICELESS!!

Awesome Shot and Round at -5 John. We are all out to get you. Keep up the good shooting.

On June 22, 2011, Discstars will be making its' 1st appearance at the Legendary Sedgley Woods in Philadelphia, Pa. With all the history this 27 hole course has to offer, an honorable day is sure to be had.

Some of our members will be heading out off hole #1 between 4:30-5:00 pm. All are welcome to join in on the fun, as we are looking to meet some new faces throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. We hope to see you there, as challenges will be made, and lots of disc golf will be played.

Saturday Night Follow Up

Saturday Night turned out to be a rockin' good time. The baskets had the sticks, and we were hucking some discs. Good times were played, and some money was made.

Once again John Disantis finished atop the leaderboard, but was not alone as Jesse Young tied him. Pee Yount and Aaron Santee finished close behind. As for the rest of us, well we were happy to get through the night. I just want to thank everyone for coming out and having a good time. Can't wait to do it all again in a future Discstars Gathering.

After an unbelievable day of nailing my first ace, I was subsequently beaten by five strokes to yet another John DiSantis -7 drubbing. I also later learned that he had made his first TWO aces that week as well. This is a call to all.................please help us to defeat the new course bully.

Saturday Night Golf in June

On Saturday, June 4th at 9 pm we will be enjoying a round of night golf at Jordan Park. All are welcome to play as we will be starting off at hole 6, so park in the far lot next to the farming gardens. We will set up the course prior to the event so make sure you have your gear set up for glow golf. Just comment below if you are not sure as to what you will need.
