This fall, the State Bar is publishing a revised version of When You Become 18: A Survival Guide for Teenagers. We are trying to collect lesson plans from teachers or counselors or attorneys who use the publication in class or to make presentations. TITLE III SUMMER PD OPPORTUNITIES
I am including the flyers that were sent by CENTRAL/LAB to schools and teachers about these summer opportunities. Sign-up for these sessions on LAUSD’s Learning Zone (see attachment for more details).

FYI - The Master Plan Institute is mandated for all EL Coordinators or a designee from every school.

Intervention resources

Is there anyone out there who has done intervention in 4th grade for students who are working at a 2nd or 3rd grade level? Our matrix was posted very late and I just found out 11 days before the school year starts that I have been assigned to teach the lowest of the low students in all of 4th grade. My roster will be all FBB, BB and possibly a Basic student or two. Has anyone else out there had the FBB and BB class for 4th grade? If so, I'd greatly appreciate you sharing resources that you used. I'm concerned because I know that reading instruction should be at a level where students can accurately ready 90% of the words correctly, and I know that the stories in the OCR anthologies are not truly at their instructional level. Intervention guide is a place to start, but not enough reading comprehension in there. What resources in particular did you use for reading comprehension? With this very short planning time I've been given, I would appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you!
