<p>So many people go wrong here.  Forget fad diets, forget starvation.  Slow and steady wins the race.  Try changing one thing about your diet.  Limit yourself to one soda a day.  Stop skipping meals.  If you always clean your plate, start leaving one or two bites.  A total change in diet is work.  If you go for a radical change, you are setting yourself up for failure.  You&#8217;ll be surprised how well small changes work.</p>
<p>The Right Bike Determines Your Success</p>
<p>This is a critically important part.  There are literally hundreds of exercise bikes available.  You have to be honest with yourself to discover the one that will work best for you.  If you talk yourself into some fantasy world where your exercise plan is going to work this time even though there&#8217;s nothing different, you&#8217;re going to be disappointed. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you talk to almost anyone who goes to the gym to workout and ask them how long a good workout usually takes, they will often answer with; “it takes a good hour to get in a good workout”, or even; “if I don’t spend 1 ½ to 2 hours in the gym, I just don’t get enough from my workout”.</p>
<p>Based on these kinds of typical responses, you can imagine how surprised many of these same people appear to be when I tell them that I only workout for 30 minutes a day, yet still get the kind of results that they do! Many of them will say, no way you only workout for 30 minutes a day! How can you ever get results doing that?</p>
<p>The plain fact is there are a lot of people who have such busy schedules that finding more than 30 minutes to dedicate to a workout is just impossible. It’s not that they don’t want to do it; there just aren’t enough hours in the day to be in the gym for 1 to 2 hours at a time.</p>
<p>If there was a way to get an effective workout in 30 minutes however, then perhaps they could spend half of their lunch hour in the gym, and the other half eating their lunch. That would be perfect, wouldn’t it? But is it really possible to do a workout in 30 minutes that will bring real results? The answer is a definite yes, but you will need a few simple strategies to make it happen.<br />
Here are some tips on how to make your workouts really work in only 30 minutes a day.</p>
<p>To start with, make sure you have a plan for each day. Write down all of the exercises you will be doing for that day and write down all of the weights you will be using for each exercise. Write down how many sets you will be doing for each exercise and how many repetitions you will be doing during each set.</p>
<p>Do split body part routines. For example, on Monday and Thursday, do legs, arms and abs. On Tuesday and Friday, do chest, back and shoulders. This way you only have half of your body parts to work on each day cutting down significantly on time spent in the gym.</p>
<p>Upon arriving at the gym, set up as many things as you can in advance so that when you get started, you can keep moving from one exercise to the other without wasting time getting the next piece of equipment set up. This way, you can go strait through each exercise without stopping, take 1-2 minutes rest, and then simply repeat until you finish all of your sets.</p>
<p>Avoid socializing. While being friendly is ok, don’t let yourself get distracted by having a conversation with others in the gym. Remember, you only have so much time and 5 minutes spent talking rather than exercising is 5 minutes wasted. Explain to people wishing to talk to you that you are on limited time and you just can’t stop what you are doing at the moment or better yet, put on a pair of headphones before you begin your workout; they’ll get the clue.</p>
<p>Always do your weight training and cardio training separately. On days you are not doing weight training, you can spend 30 minutes on the treadmill or on the stair climber. This way you are still only working out for 30 minutes. Combining the two only means you will have to spend more time in the gym and time spent in the gym is what you are trying to cut down on.</p>
<p>In summary, just remember to write out a plan for each day, split those body parts on different days, keep moving during your routine, don’t socialize, and don’t do weights and cardio on the same day and you will see excellent results in only 30 minutes a day.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>What is Ankylosing Spondylitis?</strong><br />
Ankylosing Spondylitis is a condition which is related to arthritis.  Ankylosing Spondylitis affects approximately 1 in every 250 mainly young men so while many may have not heard about it, it is quite common.</p>
<p>The word Ankylosing means inflammation of the spine while Spondylitis means joint which is fixed solid and unable to bend.  So, in simple terms, Ankylosing Spondylitis is a condition which involves the spine becoming inflamed and as a consequence becoming fixed and solid.  What tends to happen, is that tendons or ligaments attached to the spine become swollen.  When the swelling reduces, it is replaced by growths of bone.  When this happens a number of times, there becomes more and more bone where there used to be tendons or ligaments until eventually the joint fuses together.</p>
<p>As with many conditions, different people are affected with varying degrees of this condition, with some barely noticing it while others lose their full independence.  What is also interesting is that the Ankylosing Spondylitis symptoms can come and go over time.</p>
<p><strong>What are the Symptoms of Ankylosing Spondylitis?</strong><br />
The first time people tend to notice that they have Ankylosing Spondylitis, is when the experience lower back pain and some muscle spasms.  This tends to be worse during the night.  This pain often spreads to the upper back, neck and buttocks.  Also, in the morning, neck pain may be experienced which is relieved during the day through exercise.</p>
<p>Without treatment, it is possible that the symptoms could develop into fever, fatigue and a loss of appetite.  There may be some weight loss as well.</p>
<p>As the spine starts to fuse together, you may start to find it more and more difficult and painful to move around.  Also, in a number of cases. as the joints start to become more and more affected, it becomes harder to breath as the ribs start to stop moving. <p><strong>Causes of Ankylosing Spondylitis</strong><br />
Nobody knows exactly what causes Ankylosing Spondylitis.  It is generally thought that the antigen HLA-B27.  This may explain why this condition appears to run in families.  This is also linked to a condition called Reites Syndrome.</p>
<p><strong>Treatment of Ankylosing Spondylitis</strong><br />
There are no drugs in existence today which can slow or stop the condition.  However, there are drugs called Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) which can help to control the inflammation and reduce the pain.</p>
<p>Also, daily exercise consisting of gentle stretching exercises or swimming can help to improve the movement of the spine and help to create a more positive posture.  On top of this, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy can also help to relieve the symptoms.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, there are a small number of people suffering from Ankylosing Spondylitis who will require hip replacements.  Thankfully, those cases are few and far between.</p>
<p>Interestingly, the symptoms of Ankylosing Spondylitis can be present for a period of time and then they reduce significantly.</p>

<p>Some myths that have been associated with diarrhoea and proven to be false are listed below.  They include:</p>
<p>• Teething.  Many parents think that teething is the result of this condition.   When in the early stage of a baby’s life, there is a disease-producing bacterium that enters the intestine lining and loose stool is the result.  This is about the same time that the baby begins teething, and therefore, parents associate the two.</p>
<p>• Flat soft drinks.  Another diarrhea myth involves the drinking of a flat cola product that will ultimately settle the stomach.  It actually makes the condition worse.  The person should be given liquids such as water, rehydrating salt solution or an anti-diarrheal such as Imodium.</p>
<p>• Less food ingestion.  There are those who think that eating lesser will help the diarrhoea to pass quicker when the opposite will work better.  Eat more but change the food that is eaten. Foods that will shorten the diarrhoea include bananas, pudding, rice or carrot soup.</p>
<p>• Run its course.  The thought that diarrhoea should run its course and no treatment is going to make it any better is a myth.   Diarrhoea is a sign of infection in the body.  Treating the condition will help to relieve the symptoms.</p>

The glycemic index is a ranking of carbohydrates based on their immediate effect on blood glucose (blood sugar) levels. It compares foods gram for gram of carbohydrate. Carbohydrates that breakdown quickly during digestion have the highest glycemic indexes. The blood glucose response is fast and high. Carbohydrates that break down slowly, releasing glucose gradually into the blood stream, have low glycemic indexes.</p>
<p>Foods with a high glycemic index convert into sugar very quickly, with negative physical effects. Foods with a low glycemic index turn into sugar gradually, helping maintain your body&#8217;s chemical balance. In general, foods with a low index are preferable.</p>
<p>Glycemic Load measures the amount of sugar a food actually releases in the body. Foods with a low glycemic load usually have a low glycemic index, yet still have a low glycemic load. Other foods have both a high index and a high load. You should avoid high load foods as a regular part of your meal plan.</p>
<p>When you choose carbohydrate foods, check both their glycemic index and glycemic load. Detailed tables with this information are widely available. Use the chart below to get started.</p>

The more familiar you are with the muscles you&#8217;re working, the better you&#8217;ll be able to judge what&#8217;s needed to make improvements. In this article we&#8217;ll get to know the muscles that make up the shoulders and arms.</p>
<p>Shoulders and arms work together but they require significantly different exercises to make them bigger and stronger. The main muscles found in these areas are as follows:</p>
<p>1. Deltoid &#8211; this is comprised of three separate segments that cover the shoulder and run a few inches down the arm. The anterior deltoid raises the arm to the front. The middle deltoid raises the arm to the side. The posterior deltoid draws the arm backwards.</p>
<p>2. Rotators &#8211; these are small muscles of the rotator cuff that control small movements of the upper arm. Consisting of an internal rotator, external rotator and supraspinatus they are used in lifting and throwing actions.</p>
<p>3. Biceps brachii &#8211; the biceps covers the front part of the upper arm and consists of a long head and a short head. The long head crosses the shoulder joint and works with the front deltoid to raise the arm to the front.</p>
<p>4. Triceps brachii &#8211; the triceps covers the the back of the upper arm and consists of three sections &#8211; the long, lateral and medial heads. The role of the triceps is to straighten the arm at the elbow.</p>
<p>5. Brachialis &#8211; this muscle lies between the upper arm bone and biceps. It helps the biceps to bend the elbow when the palm is facing sideways.</p>
<p>6. Forearm muscles &#8211; the forearms consist of many little muscles called flexors and extensors. The largest forearm muscle is the brachioradialis that lies close to the elbow.</p>

A facial skin care routine is what you need (and you need to follow the facial skin care routine with complete seriousness). So let’s check what comprises an effective facial skin care routine. Well, very simply, a facial skin care routine can follow the following 4 steps:<br />
?	Cleansing<br />
?	Toning<br />
?	Exfoliating<br />
?	Moisturising</p>
<p>Cleansing is the first thing in facial skin care routine. Cleansing helps in removing dust, pollutants, grease and extra oil from your skin, thereby preventing damage to your skin. Just spot your face and neck with a good cleansing lotion or cream and gently massage it into your skin using upward strokes. Use a soft face tissue or cotton wool to wipe your face in a gentle patting fashion (do not rub).  Cleansing should be done at least twice a day i.e. morning (as part of complete facial skin care routine) and evening (on a standalone basis). Water soluble cleansers are the best for inclusion in your facial skin care routine.</p>
<p>Toning is the next in a facial skin care routine. However, this is the optional part of the facial skin care routine. Mostly, proper cleansing can compensate for toning. Toning helps remove all traces of dirt, grease and excess cleanser. Instead of making it part of your daily facial skin care routine, you can using toning occasionally i.e. when you have been exposed to particularly harsh environment/pollution.</p>
<p>Exfoliation is again, kind of, optional step in everyday routine for facial skin care. However, exfoliation is necessary at least once a week (or twice, depending on the skin type and the environmental conditions). Exfoliation finds its place in facial skin care routine because of the natural tendency of skin to replenish the skin cells every 3 or 4 weeks. As a facial skin care technique, exfoliation helps in removing the dead skin cells that block the pores, thus assisting the skin in the natural process. However, excessive or harsh exfoliation can cause damage to your skin; so you need to balance it out.</p>
<p>The next thing in facial skin care is moisturising. In fact, moisturising is the most important part of facial skin care routine. Moisturisers prevent your skin from getting dry. Dry skin is really undesirable since it cause the upper layer skin to break, leading to dead skin cells. Again, use light upward strokes to make the moisturiser more effective. Moisturisers work the best when applied on warm and damp skin. So do not try to remove all the moisture in the previous steps of facial skin care routine.</p>
<p>Besides the normal facial skin care routine, you should also exercise the following for facial skin care:</p>
<p>?	Use proper make-up remover instead of just washing it away<br />
?	Pay heed to your skin type and the environment, when choosing facial skin care products.<br />
?	Before you start using a new facial skin care product, test it by applying it on a short patch of skin e.g. ear lobes.<br />
?	Never rub your skin too hard.<br />

According to the definition from the Global Healing Centers website, “Aerobic exercise is a type of movement such as running or cycling that gets your heart pumping faster and increases your oxygen intake.”<br />
Fine examples of aerobic exercise are; running, dynamic yoga, cycling, fast walking, circuit training, skiing and rollerblading.</p>
<p>Ok, so we are all told we need to partake in aerobic exercise to obtain many benefits, such as, weight loss, better skin and muscle tone. But that’s not all! There are psychological benefits of aerobic exercise too!<br />
So, what are the psychological benefits of aerobic exercise?</p>
<p>In short, the benefits are; improved mood, reduces anxiety, reduces depression and acts as a buffer against stress.<br />
But lets go into a little more detail…</p>
<p>The Psychological Payoffs</p>

<p>When we exercise aerobically, our bodies produces little chemical called endorphins, which, scientifically speaking, are polypeptides, which are able to bind to the neuron-receptors in the brain to give relief from pain. Endorphins are not just produced from exercise; they are also triggered by deep-breathing, meditation, eating spicy food and deep laughter. Just don’t do all five at once…<br />
Endorphins are believed to produce four key effects on the body; they relieve pain, they reduce stress, they enhance the immune system and they postpone the aging process.<br />
It may be worth your while to stock up on some fitness equipment, they might make things easier for you. I prefer to exercise outside but I do have an indoor stationary bike, that way, if it’s raining, I have no excuse not to exercise.</p>
<p>Reduces Anxiety and Depression</p>
<p>Depression and Anxiety can lead to a feeling of isolation. Partaking in aerobic sports, one can choose to join a running club, swimming club, gym or any other sports club. It’s an excellent way to gain the psychological benefits of aerobic activity, because it gets you out an about and can put you in positions where you HAVE to speak to people.<br />
Aerobic exercise offers a distraction. For an hour or so each day, you can put yourself in a position where you are too busy worrying about the prospect of having to run another two miles before you can stop.<br />
Burning excess fat and toning up can boost anyone’s confidence. Clothes fit better, and you receive compliments from friends. Which often is enough to begin to lift the heavy cloud of a mild depression.</p>
