I am a DISH Network customer who loves my movie channels and HD experience.  With DISH Network’s basic package I get free HBO, Cinemax and Starz free and DIRECTV charges an additional 14.99 per month.  Besides this additional fee for favorite movie channels, DIRECTV basic start is five dollars more than DISH’s.  Also included in my basic package is free HD where DIRECTV charges 10 bucks more.  When you add this up DIRECTV cost 29.99 more than DISH to get a basic package.  With that additional cost of having DIRECTV, I could upgrade my DISH package getting more for my money.

Additionally when comparing DISH and DIRECTV, DISH allows Sirius Radio in the basic package. DIRECTV does not.  DIRECTV also only allows free installation in four rooms included in the basic package whereas DISH gives an additional two making it possible to install six rooms free.  Moreover, I am able to watch my favorite shows on the go anywhere with my iPhone, DISH network includes this option in my basic package, and DIRECTV does not.

Then the last benefit of the basic package is being able to have 28 International programming choices and DIRECTV only gives nine International programming choices.  What a great benefit for those individuals benefitting from International Programming.  Since this is America and we are a melting pot of multiculturalism then this seems to be a culturally competent business decision DISH Network has provided in their basic package.

When you really look at the comparison of both satellite providers, DISH Network comes out on top.  The basic package DISH Network offers saves money including more options than DIRECTV.  This is the reason why I have been a loyal customer of DISH Network for six years and will be for the long-term due to their great package options and not mention the superior customer service.

Considering how AutoHop has enhanced a DISH subscriber’s ability to enjoy commercial-free TV using their Hopper, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) identified this revolutionary advancement in TV entertainment by awarding DISH with the coveted distinction of being the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Award Honoree. Along with the award, the DISH Hopper was recognized in multiple reviews as the best DVR. DISH did not want to sign up for this expensive programming option because it would ultimately result in higher prices for customers for DISH or DISH not being able to have as much revenue as they would like.  Either way there was probably a little greed involved with both parties.  However, after DISH has agreed to pay out 700 million dollars to Cablevision and AMC networks it has brought light once again to those channels allowing viewers to catch episode two of season three of the critically acclaimed zombie show only depriving them of one episode of Walking Dead.

Other shows that were on this Network were Mad Men and Breaking Bad making many customers want to break bad on the mad corporate executives from both companies.  However, the deal is settled and I foresee many people returning to DISH once again.  I also predict with all the new wireless spectrum licenses DISH has gotten out of this deal they will definitely have an increase in sales and products offered.

Reports suggest that these new areas add about 150 million people to DISH’s range.  I think Dish will be able to absorb that big chunk of money in no time making many why it took so long for this deal to go through.  Whatever the reasons truly were it probably cost DISH more money in the short-term if they had just worked through this earlier.  If DIRECTV could do with the Viacom dispute, DISH almost certainly could have handled this soon.

November first marked the completion of the rest of the networks returning to DISH Network.  These include IFC, Sundance Channels, and WE tv as well as IFC film networks.  I would have to give a big thank you to the popularity of Walking Dead for compelling DISH Network to get the ball rolling signing that deal.

However, this is probably not the case and Dish Network Houston Cougar fans will be missing out come September 1^st when they go against the Bobcats.  Then what about when University of Texas Longhorns plays against another state team Texas Tech.  With all that adrenaline pumping Texas football happening all season long, it will be a major fumble to miss any of the kick offs, tackles and touchdowns.
