I recently signed up as a Purex Insider and from time to time I get to review really cool household products. Today I have for you all a review of 20 Mule Team Borax

If you are anything like me then you might be wondering what is Borax?

Well guess what? I’m gonna tell ya

Borax is the common name for sodium tetraborate, a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes.

There is absolutely nothing added, no phosphates, chlorine, or other additive chemicals.

Did you know that over 855 of homes have hard water? I know I do and it sucks! Hard water is defined as water that contains calcium and magnesium (ions). Hard water effects your laundry when you add detergent some of the compounds attach to calcium and magnesium granules that settle on the bottom of your washer, eventually it retreats down the drain without actually cleaning your clothes (talk about a waste of detergent).

So what does Borax do for your laundry?

It naturally softens hard water, which protects your detergent and maximizes the cleaning power! It also helps to keep stains from being re-deposited back onto clothes and controls odor.

You can find Borax in your local Wal Mart, Kmart, Target, Kroger, Publix and many other stores!

The best part is that Borax can used for carpet cleaning, as a dishwasher detergent booster, in the kitchen and bathrooms!

I love that you get so much in box, it will definitely last a long time! I was pleased with my results from using it, I noticed a difference in clothes as far as odors go and removing stains! I’m officially in love

Flat Twist Out on 4a Natural Hair

Hey Guys!

I decided to try a twist out on Jordyn’s hair, in the past when I’ve tried this style I haven’t been so successful woomp woomp

For this style I started with freshly washed and conditioned hair, I moisturized with Blended Beauty’s Silk Shake and then sealed with a little Darcy’s Botantical Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioning Oil

I made a total of 7-8 twists and let then air dry overnight

Jordyn has major shrinkage, while stretched or straightened her hair is around arm pit length but in it’s natural unstretched state it’s way shorter

We pinned up the sides and left out a little side bang

Flat Twisted Side Ponytail Updo

Hey Guys,

After washing and deep conditioning Jordyn’s hair I decided to wing it and came up with this flat twisted side ponytail updo.

I used Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel and Wisely Made MaxiMoisture Hair Pomade

This style took about 30 mins.

DIY: 3 Tiered Jewelry Stand

Hey Guys,

I am back with another fun and easy DIY post inspired by LaurDIY

All materials came from the Dollar Tree and I used the following:

Three different sized metal plates and two glass candlestick holders

Total cost $5 plus tax

I used this glue to hold everything together

It bonds metal and glass and I got it from Wal Mart for a cost of $2.47

You could also do two tiers if you like

My co workers said these would make great cupcake or cookie stands for parties!

I made two of them and used them to hold and display all my earrings, rings, watches and bracelets.

Here is my vanity before

Everything was stuffed into this jewelry box

And also into that red heart shaped box. I never wore any of it because it was all tangled and too hard to get to it.

Pretty

Everything is easily accessible now and it looks pretty

So there you have it guys, easy, inexpensive and very chic looking

Fun Nail Art Design: DIY

Hey Guys,

I randomly came up with this fun easy nail art design

I started with one base coat by Revlon and finished with two coats of Revlon’s Top Coat

I applied two coats of Sally Hansen’s in Copper Glamour and used Wet N Wild Under Your Spell as my accent color.

How I got the look:

I used a piece of tape (gift wrapping kid) and put on my nails at an angle and used 2 coats of the Wet N Wild polish. Once it dried I gently removed the tape and used my dotting tool to make the the dots.

Easy peasy!

DIY Make-Up Brush Holder

Hey Guys,

I was browsing vid’s on YouTube and came across this video by LaurDIY

I thought it was such a cool idea I decided to create one too!

I went to my local Dollar Tree and pick up two glass jars/vases and two different sized tea light candle holders.

Total cost $4

Next I hot glued the jars/vases onto the tops of the tea light candles and then added some earth toned colored rocks I already had. The Dollar sells rocks too if you don’t have any on hand.

Then I stuck my brushes in and viola! All done and purdy

What do you guys think?

I think these would make great Christmas or birthday gifts!
