Diva's Diamonds Book Club 2026!! It's been a very long time since I've shared anything about my Diva's Diamonds Book Club! I founded this club on January 17, 2011, and now, 15 years later, it's time to rebrand and reach more people to get back to reading! I love to read! I fell in love with reading as a little princess in Queens, NY, at 3 years old! I was definitely wise beyond my years, and my Mom encouraged both my brother, Gabriel the Angelic One, and me to read. I clearly remember always having a book nearby. It's something that we did as a family.

Now here it is in 2026, and I am happy to share with my PINK Diamonds worldwide that my Diva's Diamonds Book Club is Back! LOL! Truth be told, it was always around. I forgot that I had a Goodreads account, and I updated everything. I have actually been a member of Goodreads since January 18, 2011, for 18 years! It is time to connect there, too, PINK Diamonds! I will also add my Audible picks there. The world is extremely digital now, and for many of us, audiobooks work better than sitting still and reading. I have fallen in love with audiobooks over the last 3 years because I read so much for my PhD-ED coursework at National University that now I want to hear a story. I'm a storyteller, and I love to listen to stories as I grow older.

It is amazing how, when I was a child, I loved storytime, then wanted to read the book for myself, and now that I am getting older, I am loving listening to the stories again! LOL!

I will post my Summer 2026 Reading List separately, including both books and audiobooks. It's Black Music Month, and I will also share a list of great books I recommend you read under my newest brand, "The Living BMP Archive," in another post.

Diva's Diamonds by Queen Diva Returns!

Greetings, PINK Diamonds!

I'm baccckkk! LOL! I know I said that a year ago and disappeared! LOL! I'm so sorry so much has happened since September 12, 2025! I moved back to NYC. I am continuing on my PhD-ED program at National University, Sanford College of Education, with a concentration in Curriculum and Teaching. I love my Curriculum and Teaching coursework! Now I am learning about the research process for my dissertation requirements. I have been battling "Imposter Syndrome" for the last 6 years while I have been on this academic journey! Oh my goodness! I am proud to be appointed a 2026 National University Brand Ambassador this year! Yay! I have been maintaining a 3.97 GPA since I started in July 2024! I just received the word today that I made the Winter 2026 Dean's List. It has been an amazing experience, and I am right at the beginning stages of my dissertation process.

Once I moved to NYC, I have been adjusting to living back in the "Big Apple!" I absolutely love living here. I came here when it was just about to get into winter, and what a winter it was in Winter '25! I have not been around snow in years!! It was -8 degrees, and there was so much snow on the ground that many people had to shovel their cars out to get to work! Oh My! The snow was so beautiful! I had not seen snow in 6 years!

Now it's Spring 2026!! It's so lovely in NYC! The cherry blossoms are so gorgeous! I don't remember seeing so much beauty in NYC. This is because, years prior, I was always ripping and running around the city doing this and that, most days, without any structure or purpose. LOL! That's a shame. But at other times, I was so consumed with trying to figure out how to succeed that I got lost in a cycle of always giving and never receiving. But that has all changed now!

Kisses in the Dark by Queen Diva

I released a new R&B/Vintage Soul single called "Kisses in the Dark" on February 15, 2026, well, actually almost a month later on March 6, 2026, because I had administrative issues with my distributors. I went from one distributor to another. I have received some lovely and critical reviews. LOL! I love it! I wanted each person who reviewed my so to be honest and tell me why they loved it or didn't. It is out now on all digital music outlets and streaming services! I would love your thoughts on my song! Please support indie artists!

I was appointed the Inaugural 2026 RBPSOC Global Ambassador for the Rhythm and Blues Preservation Society in March 2026, during Women's History Month, to help share the mission of preserving Black music, one record at a time. It is such an honor for me to serve in this capacity because I have such a passion for preserving Black music history and culture for the world.

Lastly, I have the amazing opportunity to return to Broadway at the Tony Award-winning venue 54 Below during Suicide Prevention Month to perform my Strength of a Woman: A Phyllis Hyman Tribute on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 9:30 pm. I am so excited to share my favorite songs recorded by the Legendary Phyllis Hyman again. It's been six years since the last time I performed off-Broadway and to return to Broadway after all of these years is truly a blessing.

I have committed to writing on this blog once a week, and "Thankful Thursdays" seems like a great day for me to share words to inspire, empower, and encourage the world to shine resplendently!

It's been a minute! LOL! I know so many amazing events and accolades have happened since December 31, 2022!! I am no longer studying at USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism, but I am now studying at National University Sanford College of Education where I am studying as a PhD student Curriculum and Teaching since 2024! I realized I wanted to go in a different direction with my academic goals. I am supremely happy at National University and I am a scholar with a 3.94 GPA!

I have been working closely with The Rhythm and Blues Preservation Society based in Atlantic City, New Jersey for the last five years with the Founder/President Mr. Perry Thompson with a mission to preserve Black music culture one record at a time. New Look! New Website! New Year for Diva's Diamonds!

Greetings PINK Diamonds!

It's the last day of 2022 and so much that I have been blessed to be a part of and complete since my last posting in May 2022! I am studying another master's degree program this time at USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism this Fall 2022 where I received a 3.2 GPA! It's the #1 Communication and Journalism school in the world!! I am so very honored and excited to be a part of the Trojan family! Fight On!!

A new podcast season in 2023 on Anchor. FM after 12 years on BlogTalkRadio.com. I am so happy to be a part of this new podcasting network because of the great features and opportunities to be distributed on more podcasting networks!

Last's night's Grammy's Awards was amazing and my choice was Ms. Tiffany Haddish wearing a custom Prada Dress styled by Wayman and Micah.

I received my Doctorate in Divinity (Honorary) from the Omega Bible Institute and Seminary in Monroe, Louisiana in May 2021 and then an Executive MBA from Prairie View A&M University College of Business in December 2021. It has been an incredible two years to say the least!

Prayerfully Make Your Dreams Come True! By Queen Diva

Today's Diva's Diamonds: 5/17/21

I'm back after a month break to finish up my Spring 2021 semester in graduate school at Prairie View A&M University College of Business!! Yay! I also celebrated my 30th Anniversary of being an Alumna of Prairie View A&M University recently on May 12, 2021!! It has been an incredible 30 years!! I know I don't look it at all! Amen! LOL!

I have to say life is good! I mean really good! Even when its bad it's good because it is all for my good in the end!! I am just 7 months away from graduating again from PVAMU!! I have two semesters to go and four classes left!!! I have to say all glory goes to God! I prayerfully made my dreams come true all these years. I communicate with God all day long. I ask for guidance and direction for every decision I make.

I have learned firsthand that I am nothing without God leading and instructing me all along the way! I am a living and breathing witness that there is power in prayerfully making your dreams come true. I have tried a few years trying to do things without praying first. Each and every time is was disastrous! I would never do it again in my personal or professional decisions.

Wisdom has taught me that it is best to ask the Creator of all things for direction! I no longer ask my friends or family I go straight to God. I highly encourage you reading this post to do the same. Prayer is merely communication with God. That's it. You do not have to have fancy vocabulary, be an eloquent speaker and it doesn't have to take a long or loud prayer for God to hear you. God can hear your softest and loudest prayer. He just wants you to communicate with Him.

I recommend just start with saying Grace over your food to bless the food and the one who prepared it. Then at night thank God for getting you through another day safely, your family, friends and counting your blessings. When you wake up in the morning say, Good Morning Father God and thank Him for another day among the land of the living." Once you get used to that it will come naturally to pray to God all day long. You are a supernatural being in a mortal shell. You will eventually hear God and realize you heard Him all along. The voice of God is the soft still voice that tells you, "Don't go down that road" or "Did you turn off the stove?" or "Don't date him/her!" or "This is a great house buy it!" or "He's/she's the one, marry this one!"

I'm sure some of you reading this know exactly what I am talking about! For those of you who do not keep praying to God in all that you do and soon you will hear His voice.

Life Is Too Short To Worry About What People Think Of You by Queen Diva

Life is too short to worry about what people think of you! This is a statement I must share with you because now more than ever we are seeing so many people we know and love pass away. When we get caught up in the wrong thing wasting time becoming upset about what others think of us we can get distracted and miss important moments in our lives.

You are not here on this wonderful earth to be concerned about how people think of you, your decisions, relationships, career choice, financial status or your friends. What matters most is what God thinks of you and if you are living your life to please Him.

I speak from experience that I was free when I made the decision to prayerfully ask God what is my purpose, where should I go to school, live, work, and who should be connected to both in my inner circle and outer circle of friends and business contacts. I have had a peace like I have never known when I stopped worrying about what people would think of me.

Life is too short to worry about what people think of you! Lock in this statement and remember that people can only treat you the way you allow them to. You were not meant to be on this earth to be miserable around people you do not have to be around. Live your life for yourself and ask God to show you how you can do it. I know you can do it! I believe in you! You have to believe in you too.

Shine on Resplendently! I want to take a moment to remind you that you are amazing and to keep going! Sometimes we just need words of inspiration and empowerment to feel loved and appreciated.

Shine on Resplendently! You may not feel great or amazing. But let me tell you being great or even amazing is NOT a feeling! Do not downplay your greatness. Just because your bank account may temporarily in the negative or you may not be where you wish you would like at your job. Your finances or career accomplishments will always change. You may not be where you want to be, but if you keep going, growing, learning, and seeking more for yourself you will.

Shine on Resplendently! I believe in you and I know that you will achieve all that you desire in due season. You are so much more than your right now! I want you to know someone admires you and wants to you to succeed. They may never tell you but I am telling right now!

Be Your Own Best Friend! Sometimes you have to encourage yourself when no one else is around or you can call in an instance! If you do not love yourself and think you are the bomb.com then no one else will! Being your own best friend means you have to tell yourself, "You Got This!"

Be Your Own Best Friend! There is nothing wrong with telling yourself, "I look gorgeous today" or "It's all good you messed up so what, get back on track and start over again" or "I cooked a delicious meal today and it looks fabulous!"

Be Your Own Best Friend! You even have to tell yourself, "I know I shouldn't have eaten that even though it was good, now I gotta get back on track!" LOL! I know I am my own best friend! Sometimes I have to just tell myself, "Diva, it's gonna be alright just keep going!"

Be Your Own Best Friend! I know this is for somebody! We will not always need to reach out to someone for a quick pick-me-up or pep talk! Many award winning musicians, athletes, doctors, lawyers and teachers are their own best friend to keep going when the going gets rough and tough! You can be the best friend you always wanted for yourself first and always!

Today's Diva's Diamonds: 4/19/21

Begin Again! I'm a bit late in sharing today's Diva's Diamonds. I was up late last night working on an assignment due this Saturday. I want to talk about when there may be a time in your life that you make a decision that you really did not think through completely, but just wanted to get something done. Only to cause grief and misunderstanding that did not need to occur with someone.

Begin Again! Make sure to listen intently to a person(s) concerns completely, respond that you understand, share your point of view and apologize for your actions sincerely. Then wait for the person(s) you offended either receive your apology or not. At the same time do not allow the those who are offended to continually offend you with words that seem as though they dismissed your apology.

Begin Again! Just know it is better to admit your poor decision choice and own up to your part in offending others, yet it is not okay for others to make you feel vexed because they are not quite ready to receive your apology. Continue to listen and allow for forgiveness to happen. It may not happen in the moment. It may take a few hours later or even days later. But stand firm in your apology and sincerity.

Begin Again! It may take a while to gain the person(s) trust in you and your actions, yet if they know your over all character and nature to be a person of good character and professionalism only time will tell how they will receive you or always have a raised eyebrow of your actions. In the meantime forgive yourself for making a poor decision, pick yourself up, dust yourself off...

Today's Diva's Diamonds: 4/16/21

Me, Myself & I! There are two songs that comes to mind when I think of this phrase. One by the 90's Hip Hop group De La Soul and another by Beyoncé. Now depending on my mood I have listened to both songs but I think I need to write a song that really conveys how I feel today.

Me, Myself & I! For me today I would have to say the looks on my face in all three pictures in my graphic is pretty much how I feel right now! LOL! The first picture I'm like, "What? Like my mind it is not into taking this selfie right now but I need different looks!" The second picture, " I gotta stay focused and get this done to do other things." And the last picture, " Why can't I get this selfie thing right?"

Me, Myself & I! Have you ever felt like all of those emotions and none at all? LOL! I'm sharing this post for those who have uncertain days when you plan to get something done and it just doesn't pan out the way you would like or planned to knock out right away and move on to the next thing. I tend to get that way with selfies, but also when I really want to get something I have put off doing and then try to rush through it and then it turns out to take me much longer than I planned and I get discouraged and just want it to be done.

Me, Myself & I! Sometimes you have to have a conversation with yourself and make sure you are good, shake off the distractions and foolishness that may creep up on you in the mist of trying to get things done! Sometimes it may be "Me" giving you grief or maybe "Myself" and other times it may be "I!" LOL! Just know that it happens. Take a deep breath, release and then get focused.

I'm sure I'm not the only who goes through this! LOL! For the few that do it's okay, just refocus and start again. Perhaps Me will take charge or Myself will get you in gear or maybe I will do it! You are all three so just know if you didn't get this post then it wasn't for you! LOL! For those that feel like "Me" today, High Five! LOL!

Look Back, But Don't Stay In The Past! Today is Throwback Thursday and every week on Thursdays in social media we all share vintage photos of ourselves back in the day! It's fun, its nostalgia that makes us smile, cry and reminisce on wonderful memories we created with friends, family and loved ones! That is wonderful!

Look Back, But Don't Stay In The Past! Then there are those of us that constantly talk about the "Good-Old-Days" and never seem to want to talk about the present or the future! I am concerned about those who do not want to move forward or embrace the outstanding life we have right now! Yes, the past was great and even not-so-great! Yet the present is amazing too! And the future is even better!

Look Back, But Don't Stay In The Past! I am not saying there is anything wrong with "Throwback Thursdays or Flashback Fridays or even Sentimental Sundays or Saturdays!" I have shared on all of those days myself! LOL! What I am saying is that it is not healthy to always want to talk about the past and romanticize it when it wasn't all roses and champagne! Try to have balance and think about how awesome your life is now, technology, opportunities for entrepreneurs, going to school and connecting with people online that you would never have the chance to do in the past!

Look Back, But Don't Stay In The Past! I love seeing your posts on the past! I really do, but when some people keep going on and on about how a certain decade of music was better than the present or the jobs, cost of living and so you are blocking your present and future opportunities to enjoy life NOW!

Don't Blink, Stay Woke! There is so much going on in America and I know that it can be a bit overwhelming to take in. From the Covid-19 vaccinations to civil and racial unrest to the trial of 2021 with the man who killed George Floyd. It is okay to follow along with what is going on with the world yet do not allow it to take your peace away.

Don't Blink, Stay Woke! What I mean by this statement is just because there are things going on that you feel like you do not have control over stay informed, do your part to keep your peace, help others yet do not think you do not have to stop wearing a mask, keep social distancing intact or be mindful that there are still individuals in the world do want to see you hurt, fail and not progress.

Don't Blink, Stay Woke! You are in control of your peace. You have the right to take care of yourself and your family so be smart, stay informed and be alert to your surroundings, community, nation and world events. It does effect you in the long run.

Don't Blink, Stay Woke! I am praying for each and everyone of you to be at peace, to have a prosperous life, be healthy and happy. I want to see you win, succeed and live your best life. So strive to not internalize what you read or hear to the point where it freezes you from doing and living your life. No, it is fine to be informed just do not let the information harden you to not want to interact with others or shut down. Just be wise and loving. God is always in control!

Excuses Block Progression! There are times in our lives when we want to avoid doing what we really need to do. I am guilty of it sometimes myself. But there is no way that you can truly move forward and be successful if you give excuses. You have to do the work!

Excuses Block Progression! Take for example you are in a relationship for a while and things just do not seem to go any farther than a certain point. You may have an unbalanced relationship where one person gives more than the other or they give excuses to why they are not able to trust. If you do not talk to your significant other you are blocking progression for you to work towards having a healthy, loving and productive relationship.

Excuses Block Progression! Maybe you are in class and prior to you taking this new class you never had to study and learning different subject matter has always be easy for you. But in this particular class it is challenging and you never really learned how to study. You are falling behind and yet you are making excuses to why you are failing the truth is you haven't tried to get organized, disciplined and committed to working towards progression.

Excuses Block Progression! Make a decision today to change your thinking, do not give excuses to why things are not falling into place or you do not want to try. If you care about fixing your relationship or passing your class then push through, take responsibility on your part in the situation and fully take ownership that "Excuses Block Progression!"

You can be successful! You can trust again! You can pass the class or workshop or certificate that you either have to complete or want to get done. Do not talk yourself out of success! Do not continually to be negative. Just make the choice to change and you will be able to move towards success! You can do this!

Don't Ignore The Red Flags!! Have you ever been involved with someone and he/she would either talk to you in a demeaning manner and you would just let it slide or make an excuse for their behavior? Or someone is always giving your backhanded compliments and thinks it's cute and try to laugh off saying negative things about you? Those are red flags!

Don't Ignore The Red Flags!! When the people on your job seem secretive and do not include you on major projects and give an excuse why you were not invited to a company event. Or your teacher or church leader calling you out in front of everyone but not in a constructive way but a mean spirited way that just doesn't seem right and you start to second guess yourself?

Don't Ignore The Red Flags!! Call that mean spiritedness out and make those people accountable for their actions! Narcissism is running rampant these days and not a welcomed trait to have. You do not have to take foolishness from ANYONE! Especially if you are a grown adult. You should never be tolerated by people. The people you surround yourself with should celebrate you and you should be celebrating them.

Don't Ignore The Red Flags!! It will only cause you greater pain than what you experience immediately the first time. Mean spiritedness is a very real and it will cause you to be unhappy and resentful of the person and it might even cause you not to want to open up and allow yourself to be close to anyone because of the hurt you can endure when you continually ignore the red flags.

People will only treat you the way that you ALLOW them to treat you! Nip negativity right in the bud so that it will not fester and cause you grief later! I speak from experience working for someone for years who I considered to be a best friend. I ignored the red flags and it was the worst decision I ever made.

Don't Ignore The Red Flags!! Your peace of mind and even your friendship or relationship may depend upon you acknowledging the negativity and adjusting the behavior before it gets worse! If this is not for you please share this with someone you know who is experiencing this. If this message is for you don't beat yourself up for allowing the foolishness to prolong just make the decision now to stay alert and aware when you see a red flag.

Don't Ignore The Read Flags!! I know you got it now! I believe in you if no one else does! You are so awesome whether people around you know it or not! You definitely have better days coming and even better friends and relationships! Stay positive! You got this!

Stay Focused!!! Have you ever found yourself really having a hard time to stay focused? OMG! Just trying to write this post I was all over the place reading my social media timelines, email, and looking through my phone. I was easily distracted by looking around at other things instead of what?

Staying Focused!!! If you ever have felt unable to keep your mind on what you are doing. Just stop, take a deep breath and then tell yourself, "Stay Focused!" Sometimes you have to remind yourself by saying it our loud to possibly even jolt you to getting on track. I know that it is very challenging to do this. I know that sometimes the work that you have ahead may be very tedious or nerve-racking or even just down right boring and you just do not want to even do it.

Stay Focused!!! You need to get it done, it must be taken care of and no one is going to do it for you so just by all means "Stay Focused!!!" I get that you don't feel like it and you just sometimes just do not want to do it. But if you start by doing one thing then it will lead to another and another and before you know it you have completed what you didn't want to do.

Stay Focused!!! You needed this reminder! I needed this reminder! And if you know someone that needs this share this with them and all the people you know how need to Stay Focused!

I know you can do it because you have done it before! I'm am just merely reminding you and myself to Stay Focused!!!

If You Quit Now You Will Never See What The Finish Line Looks Like! Have you ever started something and then about halfway through it you wanted to quit? I mean it was getting really challenging and it was taking a lot out of you. You just wanted to turn around and just give up? But you know you have given so much of your time, effort, money, wisdom, patience, experience, blood, sweat and tears! It just seemed like you were never going to see a light at the end of the tunnel and there was just so much more work to do and you were just tired of doing it!

I know, I have been there plenty times! What helped me was I thought but I really wanna see what the finish line looks like! LOL! Is that crazy? Maybe or maybe not! You know what a finish line looks like right? It has the tape across, the big banner that says FINISH and sometimes there is a crowd of people cheering you on as you cross the or see someone cross the tape.

If You Quit Now You Will Never See What The Finish Line Looks Like! Nothing feels as good as completing something that took you a long time to get done on your own! That is why no matter how hard or long it takes for your to complete what you start just keep going. The difficulty will soon pass and before you know it you are in your stride and then you see the finish line!

I know that is gets real tedious sometimes and you just do not want to do it. I know I feel your pain. Believe me, Trust me I know! But if you want to win and sometimes winning is just getting to the finish line last but at least you finished. Many people give up before they get to the end. They live with regrets for not finishing because they didn't press on to see what did the finish line look like. So perhaps what you have started or in the middle of right now is not an actual race but it is a project or a paper or just merely cleaning your room or desk. Once you get started and as you start to see progress that is when your momentum will build and you will begin to see completion!
