Emmy Nominated Empire Star, Taraji Henson, Celebrates Her Birthday!

2015-09-15T11:05:00.000-07:00

Nominated for best leading actress, Empire’s star Queen Lyon celebrated her birthday in NYC just a week before the Emmys. The celebration was nothing less than fierce; All Gold and lots of Lions, courtesy of CROSS Pens (known for their luxury gold peerless pens and 170 yr. old gold lion logo).

Guests included Empire creator, Lee Daniels, and various Empire cast members, as well as Brian Grazer, Mary J Blige, Morris Chestnut and Adam Rodriguez, her co-star from Empire’s second season. They started the night with fun photos and signing her birthday card with a life-size CROSS pen, then enjoyed a decadent dinner at Asia de Cuba.

Dessert featured a beautiful gold cake topped with, what else, a gold lion, surrounded by Ciroc bottles shooting off sparklers! And the gift of the night, a Peerless 125 gold pen, was presented to the Empire star to celebrate how she has made her mark as CROSS launches it’s new Make Your Mark campaign, #MakeYours

After the dessert and gifting, the party moved to the club Up and Down where friends Common and Kanye West joined to celebrate the big day….and where Ciroc and DeLeon took center stage.

Music Artist Conan - Second Steps To Success

2014-02-24T12:59:00.001-08:00

For Immediate Release:

2ndStep2Success

Raymond “Conan” Ramirez, Puerto Rican rapper born and raised in the “Boogie Down” Bronx during a time when Hip Hop was at its most influential peek. “Lil Ray” developed a passion for music early after watching his father “Shampoo” hype man and road manager for Main One the Ghetto Child and performing on stage with his mother “Spanish Fly”, who was the lead MC in an all-ladies rap group.
He understood quickly that everyone has a story and his strongest method of speaking was behind the pen. He felt that with his rhymes, he could tell his story and people would relate. Between his mother and father’s high-profile industry connections, Conan was blessed to be raised around many staples in the industry, such as Big Pun, Fat Joe, NORE, NAS, all the way down to Def Jam Vice President Yvette Davila and Senior Vice President of Def Jam Sean “Pecas.”

While actively training with the Morris Park Boxing Club, Conan created rap duo Illest Spitters with best friend Young Cor. They released a mix tape hosted by Hip Hop legend; Kid Capri called The Youngest in Charge. After multiple showcases and numerous rap battles, Young Cor decided to Pursue other endeavors which forced Conan to produce a solo career as a talent. His first solo project titled “The New Beginning” is the journey of Conan’s transition into a solo artist, marketing guru, as well as businessman. Conan was fortunate to learn the business aspect of the game through his father’s marketing and promotion company YNVS Marketing and Promotions.

The buzz created from this album as well as memorable performances resulted in high-profile interviews, appearances, and collaborations. In the summer of 2013, rapper NORE gave Conan an opportunity to open up for him and his group The Good Belt Gang on their 15 city Coast to Coast Mix-Tape tour. While on tour, NORE was sold on Conan’s energy and delivery on stage. After seeing how actively the crowd was engaged, he immediately nicknamed Conan “The Energy God.” After learning what life was like on tour as a talent, Conan took the business route and helped launch a thriving 2013 facebook game; “Play-GigIt.” This Promotion included a 35-day tour including high-profile rappers such as Lil Wayne, 2chainz all the way down to local artists and entrepreneurs.

In between tour life, Conan managed to attend College at Borough of Manhattan Community, work full time all while writing, performing and growing as an artist. His second solo project, “Second Step to Success”, is the story of the maturation Conan projects in his new lyrics. Between his witty Freestyles, universal flow and flawless delivery, Conan explains how to achieve success in this industry while never being classified as “the average rapper.”

Madison Square Garden Unveils Plans for New "Signature Suite Level" Debuting in Fall 2013

2013-04-26T19:32:00.000-07:00

NEW YORK, April 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Madison Square Garden
unveiled plans today for a new Signature Suite Level on the 9th floor
of the Arena that will debut this fall as part of the third and final
phase of The Garden's three-year, historic Transformation. The 18
suites on the Signature Suite Level offer great seats for the more than
200 annual sports and entertainment events at The Garden, with every
suite delivering a "center stage" view for concerts.

"One of our goals with the newly transformed Madison Square Garden is
to present premium hospitality offerings, at every level, for companies
who want an unmatched experience for entertaining or doing business,"
said Dave Howard, president, MSG Sports. "The new Signature Suites will
feature first-class amenities, food offerings from some of New York's
best chefs, access to exclusive gatherings with Garden legends, and
center stage views for every exciting event at The World's Most Famous
Arena. And with all of our other suites and clubs virtually sold out,
the Signature Suites are the last way for a company to gain access to
the ultimate premium entertainment experience to help drive business in
the center of Manhattan."

All of the Signature Suites will have state-of-the-art amenities,
including rich wood finishes, granite-topped serving areas, flat panel
televisions, and a restroom and kitchen area in the suite. A "branding
wall" in each suite also provides the unique opportunity for companies
to customize their suite decor. Premium menu options for the suites
include specialized offerings from MSG Signature Collection chefs
Jean-Georges Vongerichten (Jean-Georges, Perry St, Spice Market, Mercer
Kitchen, JoJo, Nougatine at Jean-Georges, Terrace at Jean-Georges, ABC
Kitchen, and The Mark in New York City), Andrew Carmellini (Locanda
Verde, The Dutch, Lafayette, The Library and Joe's Pub at The Public in
New York City) and Jeremy Marshall (AquaGrill), as well as wines
selected by top sommeliers. In addition, all suite holders are provided
with a special VIP Concierge Entrance into the Arena and a dedicated
account team providing best in class service, including concierge and
suite attendants on hand at every event.

The 9th floor Signature Suite Level will feature a 2,180 square foot
window-lined lobby area with a special collection of artifacts,
memorabilia and stories lining the walls that pay homage to the
legendary athletes and entertainers who have left their mark on The
Garden's rich history. Exclusive Signature Suite-only events will be
hosted in the lobby and will include "meet and greet" opportunities
featuring Knicks, Rangers and Garden legends sharing stories and unique
insight, as well as events celebrating defining moments throughout The
Garden's 133 year history.

The new Signature Suite Level will become part of The Garden's
portfolio of new premium hospitality offerings that were created as
part of the Transformation. These clubs and suites, which deliver
options at every level for companies looking to entertain and do
business, include: 1879 Club Presented by J.P. Morgan, Delta Sky360
Club, Event Level Suites (5th floor), Madison Level Suites (7th floor)
and the Madison Club presented by Foxwoods (7th floor).

In fall 2013, The Garden will unveil the third and final phase of the
Arena's comprehensive, top-to-bottom Transformation. In addition to the
new Signature Suite Level, other new elements that will debut include
the two spectacular new Chase Bridges and new expanded Chase Square
entrance off 7th Avenue, as well as the new Budweiser Fan Deck (10th
floor), new state-of-the-art GardenVision center-hung scoreboard, and
the iconic Garden ceiling will be restored. The historic, three-year
nearly $1 billion Transformation of Madison Square Garden has provided
fans with an upgraded experience and enhanced amenities from the first
row to the last. From the expanded concourses and first-class food and
beverage options, to the larger, more comfortable seats and enhanced
sightlines, to the special exhibits celebrating The Garden's unrivaled
history, the new state-of-the-art Arena reinforces the building's
position as The World's Most Famous Arena

Like Ryan Adams and other soulful Americana Troubadours before him, Austin Hartley-Leonard spent years as a solo singer-songwriter, playing roots music lost in an urban sprawl, a stranger in the city of angels. He’s seen songs placed in hit television shows such as “Burn Notice,” “Heart of Dixie," "The Jersey Shore,"and "Private Practice." Now, Hartley-Leonard has joined forces with drummer/percussionist Mike Duffy to create the atmospheric, retro-influence indie-rock duo Broken Anchor, "music that blends “indie cool” with huge epic choruses, tasty lyrics and hooks for days." (Daily Unsigned)

Originally imagined as a studio project between Hartley-Leonard and producer Brad Gordon, Duffy was brought in to fill out the sound at live performances. Duffy quickly became an essential member of the band due to his incomparable range, having spent a decade in South America and Mexico with Latin Bands before returning home to play with indie-Latin kings Ozomatli, and using these chops and experiences to create drum and percussion parts not typically heard in pop/rock music.

YASIIN BEY (FORMALLY KNOWN AS MOS DEF) IS COMING TO AZ

2013-02-25T11:43:00.002-08:00

Yasiin Bey ( AKA Mos Def) is coming to the valley of Phoenix, AZ March 21st at Celebrity Theater. Yasiin Bey is currently on tour right now and making a few stops before Arizona and many more afterward, Yasiin's music is a reflection of many current issues today, among carried over from the past. Yasiin Bey has been used since '99 however it wasn't exposed to the public it was more private between family and friends! However he felt that the name "Mos Def" became too much commercial a product for consumers instead of a person generating music and thought provoking inspiration! So now he prefers to be called by Yasiin, and the meaning of the name is still a mystery but it steams from his personal reflection.Which he openly addressed back in January '12 You'll even notice in the credits of upcoming films among projects the fully recognized change in his name. You'll catch him with Talib Kweli in their duo group called "Black Star" which was originally started back in '99, and now it's hitting Honolulu, Hawaii this March on the 23rd and the duo still has a mission lyrically among provoking inspiration. However aside from music, Yasiin Bey is an amazing actor, and even more than that he's been involved in many social awareness issues that plague the nation. Using music Yasiin Bey has touched from the moment he holds up a mic, opened minds from the lyrics that invoked the brain steaming the soul to crave change. The thoughts you would have just simply ignored brought the the front page headlines of your very thoughts.

WHY: Bronx natives and owners of Mancave Atlanta, Frank McCullough &
