Com o auxilio de um colega de faculdade, utilizando o método da termo transferência consegui fazer uma placa de qualidade para o pinguino. O layout foi feito por mim no software &lt;a href="http://www.cadsoftusa.com/"&gt;CadsoftEagle&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;(em breve irei disponibilizar o arquivo) e foi baseado em uma outra placa que utiliza um pic da família 18f e uma bootloader, a &lt;a href="http://ytai-mer.blogspot.com/2010/04/picman.html"&gt;PICMAN&lt;/a&gt;. O que me chamou a atenção nesta placa foi a utilização de componentes montados em superfície (SMD) e o fato da placa estar invertido podendo mostra os numeroso dos pinos no próprio cobre.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: normal;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: normal;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Não vou dizer que não existam programas bons, temos o &lt;a href="http://piklab.sourceforge.net/"&gt;PIKLAB&lt;/a&gt;, o &lt;a href="http://gputils.sourceforge.net/"&gt;GPUTILS&lt;/a&gt; que são muito bons. O &lt;a href="http://www.mikroe.com/en/compilers/mikroc/pic/"&gt;MikroC&lt;/a&gt;, que é o meu preferido, não funciona de jeito nenhum pelo WINE. E outros programas de linha de comando que eu não tenho muita paciência para usar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Ultimamente um tipo de plataforma que vem tomando conta do mundo da eletrônica e da informática é o&lt;a href="http://www.arduino.cc/"&gt; ARDUINO&lt;/a&gt;, um microcontrolador,no caso um Atmel AVR, que através de uma interface USB, pode ser programado em qualquer sistema operacional, com uma linguagem simples e de&lt;br /&gt;fácil acesso.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;O problema é que esse Arduino não é tão barato assim aqui no Brasil, eu pelo menos não pagaria 100 reais nele, porem como eu estou familiarizado com os microcontroladores PIC da Microchip, acabei descobrindo uma alternativa para esse tão falado Arduino. É o &lt;a href="http://sites.google.com/site/pinguinotutorial/home"&gt;PINGUINO&lt;/a&gt;, até o nome me atraiu, uma Plataforma baseada no PIC18f2550 e no PIC18f4550, com um Ambiente de desenvolvimento (IDE) igual ao Arduino e a possibilidade de ser utilizado em varios sistemas operacionais (só consegui no Linux, no windows não achou o PIC).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Como alguns microcontroladores da família 18f tem USB e a função de alterar a própria ROM, um BOOTLOADER é pré-programado no PIC  e ao receber o programa da IDE através da USB e pode rodar tranquilamente o programa sem a necessidade de ficar tirando e colocando jumpers e protoboards (o q eu tenho feito a um bom tempo).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.hackinglab.org/pinguino/image/pinguino4.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 302px; height: 155px;" src="http://www.hackinglab.org/pinguino/image/pinguino4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A imagem acima mostra a placa de circuito da versão que utiliza o PIC18F2550 que possui menos portas I/O e conversores analógico digital, porem tenho utilizado a versão com o PIC18f4550, em breve irei confeccionar esse circuito.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Em breve irei colocar um tutorial de como instalar o IDE no Ubuntu e como fazer inteface com o &lt;a href="http://processing.org/"&gt;Processing&lt;/a&gt;, juntamente com um Script para facilitar a instalação.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;UPDATE: tenho utilizado o PIKLAB ultimamente e com sucesso, mas ainda estou me adaptando.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2463723675227765104-799755389178638163?l=diyraul.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

Procurei um programa pra converter e achei um q tinha apenas o código de fonte .C. Pra converter foi fácil,  um minuto de busca no Google foram suficientes. Acabei no UbuntuForuns. Porque não juntar os dois. Foi o que eu fiz, peguei duas matrizes de led 5x7, e as juntei, formando uma grande matriz de 14x5 com 70 led's vermelhos. Com o pouco conhecimento que tenho sobre o microcontrolador de &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/%5C%5Cwww.microchip.com"&gt;Microchip &lt;/a&gt;"PIC16F628" consegui formar textos e desenhos, e no futuro com mais conhecimento e tempo poderei fazer até jogos.&lt;br /&gt;

Durante os testes observou-se que a porta se comportava de maneira estranha durante o boot, ele piscava valores aleatorios (ou não), para resolver esse problema foi usado um timer (o nosso bom e vélho NE555) calculou-se o tempo medio em que o porta se comporta dessa maneira para que o timer deixe os 4 flip-flop's inativos.  A saída desses Flip-Flips é ligada em um driver (ULN2003) para se reduzir o numero de componentes, no caso 4 transistores, 4 diodos e 4 resistores foram reduzido para apenas um CI com envolucro DIP14. E desde o começo do mês surgiu uma noticia que nos tínhamos que fazer um TCC (que ja tinha sido cancelado no começo do 2° semestre). Estávamos  sem idéia, então ficamos enrolando. Depois de uma semana surgiu uma idéia, vinda da cordenadora, o objetivo era detectar as chaves que sempre sumiam da escola usando a mesma tecnologia das lojas de roupa com um circuito tanque ressonante. Durante duas semanas sem "saco" pra fazer o que não tínhamos embasamento teórico testamos varias possibilidades, mas nada dava certo. Na ultima semana de aula o professor (não vou sitar nomes) chega e fala que o 'trabalho' (que não era mas TCC) deveria ser apresentado na sexta feira (12/12/08 - eu só fiquei sabendo na terça). Quarta-feira, como nada dava certo, nos tivemos outra idéia (muito copiada em TCC's) "Automação residencial"!!! . 'Vamos controlar os aparelhos eletrodomésticos pelo PC'.
