This set was recorded in a HOT tuesday afternoon (one of Lisbon’s hottest days so far, 31º) so I definitely had to bring those big, melodic tracks to create that “Summer” vibe. A nice mix of prog house and trance- there have been so many great productions lately it’s really hard to pick the best ones for a 60 minute mix!

This set was recorded during the great Ultra Music Festival weekend, so I was definitely inspired! I decided to put together a mix that would start with some strong progressive house and finish with some trance, including some vocals trance tunes which I really like and rarely use. So here’s one more mix! A very different mix from what you would expect, where you can clearly see that the great Luke Chable is back in full force! Chable was one of my favorite producers in the early 2000s, so I’m very glad to see he’s still strong.

Some other amazing tracks in here, like Joris Voorn‘s recent work and Cocoua, that sounds a lot like anything done by Kalkbrenner (any of them)… and of course, Eric Prydz to kick things off!

I have been busy with other stuff so I haven’t been able to bring you the monthly mixes… I will try to change that this month, as I have dozens of new tracks that want to share with all of you!

For the time being, though, this will have to do: this is a short 15 minute mix I did to enter a DJ competition, for Portuguese music fair “Musicália”. I decided to go all prog in this one, it’s not the best genre to impress the judges but I am very happy with the outcome!

DJ Bammer – “My 2011″ Mix

What a year it was. Last year I did a similar mix (featuring 20 tracks in 60 minutes) but this time I decided to go the extra mile- so many great tunes, it was hard to leave something out. All these tunes are very special to me as they joined me while working, dancing, working out, laughing, crying, walking, etc. It’s funny how someone’s year can be described in 60 minutes, but believe me it was one hell of a trip to make this mix. And a lot of fun, too!

2011 had some amazing high points. In April I returned to the booth for a special set (inside one of Lisbon’s most popular clubs) and went to Algarve in July to play as well. As a fan, I had the chance to travel to London and attend the unbelievable “Eric Prydz in Concert” which was the night of my life, meet Fritz Kalkbrenner, Hardwell, see Thomas Gold, Gui Boratto, Swedish House Mafia, Coldplay, Arcade Fire, Interpol, The National, dEUS and many more. I hope I do it all over again in 2012 and I’d like to wish all of you a Happy New Year!

So here’s another mix for all of you guys, this was a submission I made for the pretty awesome Funkagenda competition, where not only would he judge a 60 minute mix but also your remix of his track “Shinjuku”, which obviously would have to be in there. I didn’t win but it was a lot of fun to take part of this remix/dj competition, that’s for sure!

Here’s a nice mix to warm you up in Winter time! I’ve been on holidays this month so hopefully I will bring another mix this month… so much great music out there!

This one kicks off with the huge FLG remix of Coldplay‘s Paradise and slowly builds into a more progressive house state until I finish things off with 2011 versions of 2 big classics (Faithless‘ Insomnia and PPK‘s ResuRection ) and one of my tunes of the year, Jeremy Olander‘s remix of “Circles”. I did a guest mix for Anita Vai ao Mel this week, a weekly podcast that covers a pretty broad range of musical genres. Not only that, but it is frequently updated with news concerning the music scene, especially (but not exclusively) in Portugal. If you’re into discovering new bands and relive some old gems, you should definitely check it out!

I created a 20 minute mix filled with progressive melodies which I guess is what I am truly known for. Watch out for a remix of my one in there as well!

I am back with my favorite mix of the year so far! Yes, believe the hype, I am loving this one. I have been busy with another projects and hopefully I can share the news with all of you very soon. In the meantime, here are 70+ minutes of great music…

In this one I start with the progressive anthem “In the Air” with the HUGE Hardwell remix, which sets the tone for a banging mix that will create a trancey feel at the end. Watch out for the huge Gabriel & Dresden remix from 2006 “Swing 2 Harmony” and Junkie XL‘s classic remix of “Seragaki”. I really love including some classic, special songs to me in my mixes and I hope you enjoy them as well. There really are some amazing tunes in this one.
