Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to take anything away from Brian Bowles, the guy fought well, simple as that. He pressed the opportunity Miguel's fall gave him with a basic Brock Lesnar ground and pound. However, I will have to say that he showed little class reducing Miguel Torres' record to "just hype" in his words, further, Brian was getting a beat down before that slip (yeah it wasn't Bowles RIGHT as thate  Miguel haters want to say, it was the slip after the right), it was almost curtains for Bowles until Miguel slipped and fell. Did Bowles show respect, nope, acting as if his skill was what did it when it was purely his dumb luck.

Bowles, enjoy your time with that belt, Miguel WILL get it back very soon....

Dear Mr. Bill Maher:

I really used to love your show and enjoy your intelligent brand of comedy, but you have shown yourself to be as intolerant and silly as the people on the right you claim to be exposing.

I have written you before regarding my major point of contention with you, let me restate it a bit.

I have heard your many statements about "religion" and people who profess any faith and specifically CHRISTIANS over the years, some of those statements I can agree with, some I can understand even if I don’t agree, and sometimes I have had to stop watching your show for a few weeks because you go beyond commentary and into purposed offense to people who choose to accept the existence of a God (or gods as it were).

Mr. Maher, I think you are an intelligent man, but it is intellectually fraudulent to posit again and again that anyone who prescribes to any type of faith system that incorporates a deity is not a rational being, not only because such a statement is ridicules at face value alone, but also such a statement implies that people who do not incorporate that belief are some how more “rational”?

A cursory look at human history (or just a look at the daily news paper) shows that many crimes have been committed in the name of ideas and philosophies be they: religious ideas, secular ideas, fiscal ideas, political ideas, etc., many of these crimes committed by groups and individuals who claimed to be “rationalist” without any hint of religious overtones (i.e. Stalin).

My primary bone of contention with you is that you put the overwhelming burden on “religious ideas”. I’d be the first person to agree with you that religious ideas are often manipulated by people with POLITICAL AGENDAS to accomplish their goals, it happens here and elsewhere in the world. It has happened since our earliest empires in history. However; were you fail in your analysis is in not acknowledging that scientific ideas have been used to do the same damn thing (recently a noted noble laureate made statements that many will use to predicate hate ideology). Look at things that were once “science”: Social Darwinism, Eugenics, etc, these all have been used as an excuse to do evil to people; however, as also with religion, undeniably science has also been used for great positive change as well.

You fail to make that distinction when discussing faith; you also fail to make the distinction between "religion" the institutions and the faith and spirituality of the individual. You claim that Christians believe this, that or the other, when in fact there is a broad range of thought within the faith that you purposely ignore in assigning a specific thought or view that may apply to some to the complete spectrum of Christianity (or people of faith in general). Further you wilfully ignore the essential doctrines that all Christians share regarding the standards that Jesus gave us which have resulted in much good in the world, and mock the positive nature of His ministry on the earth that continues with His followers.

That is where you show that you are no different than people who believe generalities about gays, or Blacks or Jews, etc. People who conveniently ignore any evidence to the contrary of the generality that they desire to forward. That is PREJUDICE. I am a Christian, so you PREJUDGE that I lack rationality, you PREJUDGE that I believe every word in the Bible as “word for word” or that I use the Bible to tell me everything in life from how to tie my shoes to how often I pray.

That is prejudice pure and simple, and you cater to the simple minded as much as you claim the Right does, you are a mirror image of Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.

Anyway, I could go on, but I have learned in life that people either get your point or don't. I pray you stop being a bigot.

I don't know where to begin with Malkin, she is one of the wilfully ignorant intellectual frauds who likes to refer to President Obama as "Dear Leader" to continue this socialistic / communist inane and sophomoric depiction of the President.

This of course, to further manipulate people into opposing things that are in fact beneficial to them (i.e. Health Care Reform).

Malkin is in the mold of other right wing demagogues, were she frames most of her silliness in false dichotomies (such as Do you want government bureaucrat deciding your health care or to choose for yourself, which ignores the actuality that a corporate lackey whose concern is the bottom dollar and not your health is still often making decisions for you), and also as typical with this type, she uses facts to paint the elaborate fictions she creates.

What bothers me most about people like Malkin, rather they are conservative or liberal; is how the use race to claim to NOT use race; hypocrisy without bounds.

Just another brick in the wall as it were....

FROM HERE: So tell me, how come Glenn Beck can say Pres. Obama hates White people (because he wants...better health care), and the Right says nothing, but when Kanye West said that Pres. Bush hated Black People (because of slow response during Katrina), the Right acted like the man should have been tried for treason? Just asking...
