Total Recall (2012) Review

2013-04-01T02:39:00.002+03:00

Coming into this one I was very skeptical but I still wanted to give it a chance to surprise me. The first hour of this movie is actually alright if you don't mind Colin Farrell's terrible fake american accent. The locations look very futuristic and very cool. Although this movie seems to love it's lens flare. After the first hour it's all down hill, sure the action is there but the dialog is just terrible. Everything feels very stretched especially the last 30 minutes. The movie just keeps dragging, I get that you want to have a final fight scene but when you start to force it and you see it coming a mile away it just doesn't fit. *SPOILERS* In the final fight the bad guy runs away from a turret with a pistol in his hand and then a moment later he comes back to fight Colin Farrell with a knife. Why did he throw away his gun? I have no idea. Also the movie's ending would have been more heroic and better if the main character had died in the arms of another character. But no, instead of that we the scene fades to black and then the main character is in an ambulance and has quick fight the with the evil female character that lasts about 15 seconds.*SPOILERS* Would I recommend this movie to someone? No. I mean it's OK if you stop watching after the first hour but that's about it.

Assassin's Creed 3 - PS3 Review

2012-11-05T02:26:00.001+02:00

After seeing the first trailer for this game I got excited for it. Finally something else than Italy! But I didn't want to hype myself up too much because I wasn't a big fan of Brotherhood(the previous game that I played in this franchise). The first five seconds of the game is you walking 10 feet and seeing a cut scene then you walk another ten feet and another cutscene also I noticed that I can bearly hear the other character's voices. Their lips don't move(not even during cutscenes). I gave it a pass..ok fine the previous ones had this too nothing to worry about. Then I go to the 1700s and I start playing. Same thing there and also the first 4-6 hours of this game are bunch of tutorials(80% of these missions contain at least four separate spots where you have to press circle to open a door and see a cutscene the walk ten feet press circle again and see a cutscene). The other half of the game that isn't tutorials is enjoyable although the ship battles aren't fun. The framerate jumps from 15-30 very frequently but usually when everything goes perfect it stays at 25-30 fps and in areas where there are nothing but a windmill and a tree it goes to 60 fps which make the game look really nice. The scripting broke for me in two missions and I had to restart from a checkpoint. The fighting seems worse than in the previous games(I didn't play Revelations so maybe they made it worse there). They obviously tried to go for the Batman Arkham Asylum style "flow fighting" and they fail at it. Jumping on rooftops isn't as fun as it used to be and sometimes you can't climb to a roof from a certain angle for some reason. The multiplayer is still fun but you have to make a Uplay account so that you can play it. The only person I'd recommend this game to is someone who wants to see how "the trilogy" ends.

Hey! I'm planning on buying a new microphone. It costs about 55 euros and I'd really appreciate it if you could help me with this purchase with your donations.I will use this for my up and coming videos such as "Sound Effects Pt. 10" and a finnish podcast that I will start doing as soon as I get the microphone.Keep in mind that I'm unemployed and my medical condition will probably prevent me from ever getting a job anyway(so even if you don't care about my content, a donation would be nice).. if you have a buck to spare please help me, thanks.

This is the mic ("Samson Q2U Recording Pack") that I'm going to buy.

ATM (2012) Review

2012-03-25T23:27:00.001+03:00

The movie starts out in a office Christmas party. The female character(whose name I forgot it was maybe mentioned once) is talking to the main guy (whose name I also forgot) and he offers to the lady a ride back home. They decide to leave and the main guy's friend tags along for the ride too. Suddenly "the friend" says he's hungry and he wants to get something to eat but he needs cash so they go to an ATM. They all go inside and suddenly as they are leaving the ATM booth a hooded man appears standing in the middle of the parking lot. They are afraid to leave the booth so they stay inside. The man is trying to get inside the booth in anyway possible...

There were many plot holes and also the movie is supposed to take place in a real life setting but goes very unrealistic very quickly. The camera-work isn't very good, there's even a few jump-cuts in some parts of the movie. The acting isn't terrible but it isn't very good either. I can't recommend this movie to anyone. All "the best" parts were shown in the trailer and those parts weren't very good anyway...

0,5/5

"Sound Effects Pt. 9" is finally done!!!

2012-03-20T17:47:00.000+02:00

I had fun while making this video and I was actually laughing while making this. Usually it takes a week or two for me to laugh at the video. I guess this one didn't feel like a forced entry and I actually had an alright idea for the video(I came up with the idea almost right after pt. 8 but I was tired after all the impersonations that I just wanted to take a break from all of it). Anyways here's the video it's probably not as good as the previous ones but it's still pretty funny.

30 Minutes Or Less (Spoiler Free Review)

2012-02-09T00:13:00.004+02:00

Before watching the movie I heard some terrible things about it "Horrible",
"The un-funniest movie I've seen in years" etc.
So after hearing all the comments people had made about this movie I went and watched
the trailers and to be honest I wasn't impressed but I still decided to give it a chance.

Surprisingly I laughed during most of the stuff in the first half of the movie and I really liked it.
There were a lot of dick jokes(which are my favorite ones) and a decent amount of cursing.
But then I get to the 2nd half of the movie and it really starts to drag and making obvious jokes and also the ending's "Wow that was close" moment was really dumb and also felt a bit rushed.

So without spoiling anything I'd recommend giving this one a rental. The movie had some
"laugh out loud" moments and I had fun watching it (even though the ending wasn't a very good one).

2,5/5

Rating System:

0,5-1,5 Terrible film, don't waste your time with this one.
2-3 Worth checking out, has some flaws.
3,5-4 Pretty good, might have some flaws.
4,5-5 Excellent film. A cinema classic.
