Sorry for the exactly-one-month delay, but Audacity had the, well, audacity to erase this thing a couple of times. We're all set now, though. And good thing too, because I've been painting the town red at shows lately and getting lots of new music. I'm becoming a huge fan of Vitamin X and Pulling Teeth, to say nothing of Deep Sleep.

Here's the 'cast!

Playlist:
Foxboro Hot Tubs - Mother Mary
Helen Keller - Surfin' With Steve and E.D. Let's hope 2008 won't be as much of a shattering disappointment as 2007 was. Of course, the Brasserie will continue to chug along at its own glacial pace, and there'll be a new one up in the next couple of days. It'll be a special show dedicated to my friend Ellen, who coerced me into perhaps the most ridiculous theme show of all time. All eyes on the Brasserie in 2008!

18th one!

See? But it's time to man up, as people way cooler than me have said on countless occasions when the time for bitching gave way to a time for ACTION. So expect a new Brasserie in the next couple of days. And expect it to be awesome.

In the meantime, I picked up Nekromantix' Life Is A Grave And I Dig It not too long ago, and on the whole it's good. Pete Sandorff's guitar and backing vocals can never be replaced, but Troy Destroy (from the Rezurex) does his best to introduce a newer, more rockin' style to the band. And Nekroman is his usual campy self, which plays better on some songs than others (the title track is excellent, "Rot In Hell," well, isn't). But overall, I think it's worth getting, just allow it a few days to grow on you.

13th one!

Back on the horse we go, with another exciting addition of the Brasserie. They're kind of a cross between pre-metal CoC and Reagan Youth. All I had to do was replace my power cable and the damned computer runs like the first day I turned it on. So with that in mind, here's a special edition of the Brasserie that's all female singers, all the time! It's Sunday and the new podcast is going up! Take THAT, Murphy's law! And speaking of weird things I don't understand, I saw a piece of Otakon yesterday when I met some friends in downtown Baltimore. The locals, it should be noted, do NOT get anime fandom at all, and one of them was heard to remark that "this is some fucked up white people shit." And that person was a Right Thinking American on the subject, if you ask me.

Artscape was this weekend too, so the city was pretty packed - there was even a giant pink Ferris wheel outside the Myerhoff Symphony Hall. Don't see that every day.

Anyway, here's the 'cast.

Playlist:
No Fraud - Failure
Niblick Henbane - Grin And Bear It
the Aftershocks - Alley Cat King
External Menace - We Wanna Know
Dead Kings - Do the Hack

Rhythm Doctors - Wha' Happen?
Self Made Monsters - My Savior
Cardiac Arrest - Daily Dose
Bloodshot Bill - Behind the Wheel
Teenage Harlets - Norma Jean

The Mets - Big Brother Is Gonna Die Tonight
Dicemen - The Way
the Dicks - Rich Daddy
Hatchetwounds - 9 Knives
Deep Sleep - Screwed

the Geeks - Appreciate
the Neighbors - Soul
Small Town Pimps - Zombie Boy
Typhus - Hong Kong Girl
"Demons" - You Don't Want My Name

RSS Feed

things are never easy

Okay, so I'm back from vacation and I finally have the Internet again. Not much of a milestone, but at least the number of shows matches the number of subscribers now. Of course, next week the former will surpass the latter. Sigh.
