SO Jurassic Park. There are books, there are movies.. but is it actually any good? Listen as Brigitta and Andrea recount the story of a billionaire who got too big for his boots and decided cloning dinosaurs was somehow a good idea. Billionaires, am I right? Enjoy as they discuss the differences between the books and the movies, and also how humanity is evil and you don't need chaos theory to explain that Ian Malcolm, it is just good common sense.

Oh and you will particularly enjoy how Brigitta tries to remember what Sheridan has previously told her about Jurassic Park, can't figure out which Jurassic Park she is talking about, and then forgets to mention that a T Rex gets out at the end of Jurassic Park II and reigns terror all over San Diego, and that doesn't happen in the book, and really after that happens it is pretty impossible to believe dinosaur cloning would ever we allowed again. Andrea also has no idea what is going on. But you know, other than that we covered pretty much everything...

Whatever kind of wine it is, as long as you aren't offering us an oaked up buttery as hell chardonnay, we will probably be fine... And realistically, we will also drink a chardonnay butter bomb, we aren't that fussy.

Oh and btw, that wine Brigitta couldn't remember the name of is Devil's Corner reisling, but unsurprisingly their pinot noir is also good.

This episode was recorded before the current Black Lives Matter movement started and spread all over the world. We discuss a book written about a white man with no non-white characters (obviously because it is a book people are welcome to imagine the characters as they please, but come on, they are all written to be white) with undertones of racism and anti-antisemitism and gloss over that issue almost entirely.

We recognize our privilege in our failure to discuss this topic more in depth.

Certainly, when it comes to the theme of the "American Dream", my (Andrea) perception of it has certainly shifted from skeptical to a wider understanding of who it can actually be achieved by and the deeply false promise it makes to certain people (Brigitta has always been unbelieving in the American Dream and achieving anything through capitalism).

F. Scott Fitzgerald seemed to be ahead of his time in his criticism of the American Dream, and as we all as a society are hopefully taking steps back to examine our future and how it is structured, maybe we can remember that these issues have been persistent throughout history and across countries.
