Update 9/25/26: In a strange turn of events the decision to approve (or deny) has been delayed with questions raised over what ‘Chase Sapphire’ is and how details were leaked to the pubic (the minutes are publicly available) with one commissioner saying that Chase might owe them an apology. As first reported by VFTW Chase will open a Sapphire Lounge in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The lounge will be 16,000 square feet and be located next to the Delta lounge complex. As part of the deal Chase would sign a 15 year lease and invest $70 million for the initial build out and a midterm refurb. They would pay $500 per square foot per year with a 10% rent step in year 6 and 11 for a total of $135.6m in rent over the 15 year lease term. 

I don’t think this lounge will open anytime soon as United needs to complete its new lounge and vacate the current one, then The Club needs to move into the old United lounge and vacate its current location before Chase can start work. Chase recently updated the access and layover rules for Sapphire lounges. 

Update 10/6/26:

Rakuten is offering up to an additional $150 when applying for a Bank of America card through its portal. Rates are as follows:

Users that have elected to receive Membership Rewards points instead of cashback will see $0 and be ineligible to earn anything.

Affiliates can sometimes earn well in excess of $500 for a successful applicant. Normally shopping portals are forbidden from offering incentives on credit cards as other affiliate partners don’t like it. Rakuten must have negotiated this deal specially with Bank of America to get around these clauses. (We don’t use credit card affiliate links on Doctorofcredit ever.)

Rakuten launched something similar with Chase that was at one point offering $300/30,000 additional points. At launch that was a smaller bonus so it’s possible Rakuten will increase these Bank of America offers. It’s important to note that this $150/$75 is in addition to the standard sign up bonuses on these cards which are:

Our Verdict

The regular offer on this card currently is 200,000. This 300k offer is excellent, though it does have a tighter 4 months spend timeline (versus the regular 6 month timeline).

I’d be curious to know how widely this one is available, and whether it’s only through the You’re Already Approved channel or through other targeted Chase channels as well.

Nice deal for gift card purchases. As always, keep in mind that Capital One Shopping portal does not require having a Capital One card or bank account. Also remember that the rewards are not cash but rather they cash out as gift cards for various brands.

Our Verdict

In some states (NY, CT, NJ, DC, VA, MD, CA, or NV) it’s possible to make the deposit bonus offer ($750/$2,000/$4,000) significantly better by opening a savings account and linking it within 10 days of the checking account. Currently you can get 3.5%-4.5% APY. If you do the $200,000 deposit offer you are also eligible for Citi gold offering 4% APY.

How do I stack with the 3.5%-4.5% savings account?

The promotional APY program has been replaced with Citi Premium Boost. This now offers the following rates:

We aren’t 100% sure on how best to stack these deals so it might be worth waiting if you are unsure. 

Firstly this offer is only available in certain states (most likely NY, CT, NJ, DC, VA, MD, CA, or NV but might be more). You then need to do the following:

• Open checking account from promo page above
• Fund with a small amount
• Open the savings account using the savings promo link. This needs to be done after the checking account is opened but within 45 calendar days. 
• Fully fund savings account within 10 business days of opening it 

Optimal time to open the savings account is as close to the 45 calendar days as possible assuming the funds are earning more than 3.7% APY elsewhere (best savings rates here). I would give yourself significant grace time in case something goes wrong.

Our Verdict

You can try to stack this with another $150 via Swagbucks but the terms do state it can’t be stacked with other promotions (in the past it has worked though). This is significantly better than the other $300 bonus as the requirements are so much easier. If you’re eligible I think this is worth doing and we will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

Our Verdict

The gas station needs to appear in the OnePay app and $1 is the minimum, seems like that is in addition to whatever you’d normally earn. Think this just uses the Upside backend white labeled so there should be plenty of gas station options. 

Doesn’t seem like you need to use a OnePay card either, as terms say you can have another card linked from your OnePay wallet. I won’t be surprised if this gets pulled early.

Do I need the OnePay Credit Card To Be Eligible?

No. Terms state:

Additionally, for all cards other than Deposit Account debit cards and builder cards, OnePay Points can only be earned through an Upside Offer when using the physical version of the card to make a purchase. For OnePay debit cards and builder cards, OnePay Points can be earned using either the virtual card or physical card to make a purchase. OnePay Points earned through Upside Offers will be provided within 2-10 business days following settlement of the applicable transaction.

So it seems like as long as you’ve added a card to your OnePay wallet and then use that physical card you’ll trigger the offer (confirmation here) Can get a referral bonus when signing up or a targeted bonus, more information here. 

Does this require OnePay+?

I don’t see anything in the terms that states you do, this comment confirms.

Our Verdict

This is the highest bonus ever at 125k whereas previously we were seeing a high of 100k. They did increase the spend from $10k to $15k and some people will prefer the old offer. Still, if someone can do the spend, the extra 25k miles for $5,000 spend isn’t a bad deal.

As part of the revamp, the annual fee is now $695 instead of $595 which makes it harder to justify long term. The new $500 vacation booking credits will help for some people, though many will find this primarily attractive for the first year with the 125k signup bonus. We will add it to the best credit card bonuses.

Our Verdict

Bonus rate is offered on funds sitting in brokerage cash. Better than other standard rates but only valid for 60 days so not worth getting too excited over.
