Making a moment in time unique

2011-07-27T18:36:00.000-07:00

“And suddenly the memory returns. The taste was that of the little crumb of madeleine which on Sunday mornings, when I went to say good day to her in her bedroom, my aunt Léonie used to give me, dipping it first in her own cup of real or of lime-flower tea...And as soon as I had recognized the taste of the piece of madeleine soaked in the decoction of lime-blossom which my aunt used to give me, immediately the old grey house upon the street, where her room was, rose up like a stage set...and with the house the town….the streets along which I used to run errands, the country roads we took when it was fine...the whole of Combray and its surroundings, taking shape and solidity, sprang into being, town and gardens alike, from my cup of tea.”- Marcel Proust

Cotton candy...Who doesn't like it? I remember me and my friends, getting it at the fair and making ourselves all sticky. Actually, I didn't like it very much, but my friends did, and there was the big wave swinger too...those were the happy days.
“But when from a long-distant past nothing subsists…taste and smell alone, more fragile but more enduring, more unsubstantial, more persistent, more faithful, remain poised a long time, remembering…”

Taste, smell, memories ...

Time as a mystery ...

Time? Where has it gone? How much is left? What shall we do with it?

How we spend it, said Proust, is how we "create ourselves!"

Wedding cake is an inseparable part of a wedding ceremony.

The tradition of topping the wedding cake with bride and groom cake toppers dates back to the 1890s. Depending on what the bride and groom like to do, today's wedding cake toppers could have very unusual and funny themes. A cake topper is something small and frivolous that can be a reflection of who you are as a couple. Many couples choose funny cake toppers to surprise their guests and to bring a smile on their face.

I hope this images of wedding cake toppers can be useful and help you in looking for wedding cakes. Have fun!

Air Balloons Kaleidoscope

2011-07-25T10:15:00.000-07:00

In September 1783, a sheep, a duck and a rooster were the first passengers on a hot air balloon. The balloon climbed to a height of about 6,000 feet and traveled more than one mile. The first manned flight on a hot air balloon was on November 21, 1783 and the passengers were Jean-Francois Pilatre de Rozier and Francois Laurent. They started from the centre of Paris and flew for a period of 20 minutes.

Nowadays thousands of people throughout the world enjoy the sights and pleasures of ballooning.

Skies filled with colorful balloons ...Enjoy!!!

WHAT AN AMAZING VIEW!

Beautiful sunny days, nice winds and a beautiful kite ...

2011-07-25T08:42:00.000-07:00

Kites are popular today but they have ancient origins. They date back at least three thousand years and originally came from China.

Freedom, happiness, new horizons ...

Kites are available in innumerable varieties of shape, size, colors and designs and watching them flying in the sky is a wonderful sight.

Beautiful but dangerous!

2011-07-22T16:45:00.000-07:00

Do you know that balloons were first invented in France in the late 18th century. We use them to delight children and adults at birthday parties and other festive occasions. They are symbols of freedom, childhood and happiness but ... Look at these images of balloons in different colours. They look awesome. Just watching them you feel happy but don't forget that balloons can harm the wildlife. Released balloons can land anywhere. The strings of these balloons have been found twisted around the feet and beaks of marine birds. They have been found in the bellies of plenty of already threatened marine creatures like turtles, dolphins, sharks, whales.Latex is a naturally occurring milky sap that comes from rubber trees (Hevea brasilliensis) that grow in many of the world's rain forests so the latex balloons are naturally biodegradable as well. The total degradation time of a Latex balloon will vary depending on the precise environmental conditions it encounters, but it can be as short as several weeks.

But,it is also the case that after release, latex balloons tend to freeze and shatter in the atmosphere and cause widespread littering.

And the foil balloons? They are made from sandwiched sheets of plastic (polyethylene) and nylon that are then coated with aluminum.Because of the aluminum they are NOT considered to be biodegradable. They can also conduct electricity and they can become entangled with power lines and lead to power outages.

So, use balloons, have fun but PLS never release them outdoors!!!

Remember, what goes up, comes down!!!

At the base of this mountain there is a small village...

It is my village :)

Small and quiet where everyone knows everyone else...sometimes it is quieter than you really need, especially in winter. It is a very safe place to live. People are friendly. Kids are nice and well behaved. And the nature... Nature around is great!

Imagine the colorful view in the west, the cool evening breeze and the smell of cherries in the air. You have a nice book in your hands, your dog is here, sleeping at your feet, and your coffee is waiting for you...It is just awesome! Quiet and relaxing!

Sometimes I feel like fish in a bowl but I still love it !

Here are some photos of the place where the wild things are in every season! Hope you will like it! :)

Designs inspired by television test pattern

2011-07-22T08:55:00.000-07:00

A test card, also known as a test pattern in North America, is a television test signal, typically broadcast at times when the transmitter is active but no program is being broadcast (often at startup and closedown). Used since the earliest TV broadcasts, test cards were originally physical cards at which a professional television camera was pointed, and such cards are still often used for calibration, alignment, and matching of cameras and camcorders. www.wikipedia.org

In recent years, though, test patterns have been replaced by digital calibration methods.

Here are some cool designs inspired by TV test pattern.

Arachne's Descendants Art

2011-07-20T12:06:00.000-07:00

"... Even though Arachne's weaving was better, Athena didn't care. She pointed her finger at Arachne and suddenly Arachne's nose and ears shrank up, her hair all fell out, her arms and legs got long and skinny, and her whole body shrank until she was just a little tiny spider. ... "You want to spin," cried Athena, go ahead and spin!"

Hope you all know the story about Arachne, a girl who lived in Greece a long long time ago, and who was a very good weaver and spinner.

But Athena punished her because of her arrogance and tured her into a spider. But Arachne didn't stopped! And these pictures here are proof for that!

Enjoy the art of Arachne's descendants!! :D

By the way did you know that spider webs have existed for at least 140 million years, as witnessed in a rare find of Early Cretaceous amber from Sussex, southern England.

Funny or creepy? What do you think about the clowns?

2011-07-20T03:44:00.000-07:00

Rainbow wig

A red nose

And it is obvious, it is a clown :) Do you think clowns are creepy or funny? I think they can be both :) but see these pictures PLS and say, is there anything cute and funny here?

Clowns are supposed to be a symbol of fun and happiness but what make them so creepy and terrifying to so many people? Is that their goofy smile, the red paint around their lips or maybe their big feet?

REASON:

Clowns are too real! Vampires, zombies and werevolves are scary but in the abstract, on the big screen and not in our everyday lives. And clowns they do exist! (By the way their image in the movies is not that good :)

coulrophobia

"morbid fear of clowns," by 2001 (said in Web sites to date from1990s or even 1980s), a popular term, not from psychology, possibly facetious, though the phenomenon is real enough; said tobe built from Gk. kolon "limb," with some supposed sense of "stilt-walker," hence "clown" + -phobia; ancient Gk. words for "clown"were sklêro-paiktês , from paizein "to play (like a child);" ordeikeliktas ; other classical words used for theatrical clowns wererelated to "rustic," "peasant" (cf. L. fossor "clown," lit. "laborer, digger," related to fossil). The whole creation looks suspiciously likethe sort of thing idle pseudo-intellectuals invent on the Internetand which every smarty-pants takes up thereafter; perhaps it is amangling of Modern Gk. klooun "clown," borrowed from the Englishword.

I don't watch football anymore

2011-07-15T11:53:00.000-07:00

...and it was all because of the small green pieces of paper!

I don't watch football anymore!!! REASON: I don't believe that the pure spirit exist in the football anymore! It is all about the money, money and money! People don't watch it to enjoy and have fun but to get money! "You f.....g idiot!" Yeah, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Messi or Nevermind used to be your favourite football player but now He is a "f......g idiot" because he destroyed all your small chances to win some easy money and ruined your perfect week-end!
And you were soooo close but he missed the penalty! F.....g idiot! Loser!!!
Now you have to make another ticket and pay again! Dammit!!!

The legendary World Cup goal from Dennis Bergkamp during the '98 Quarterfinal of Netherlands vs. Argentina. One of my favourite!!!
