¿El Perro rojo es un perro guapo, no?

Yo siempre he sido fascinado con historias acerca de lobos, los coyotes y chupacabras.

¡Ah! ¡Absurdo! Algunas personas dirían, pero yo no convengo. Mi animal del espíritu, un Zorro de Cascada, me dijo que todo este material de hombre lobo es para verdadero. Los zorros que viven los bosques del noroeste no convienen también. ¿Los animales del espíritu y llena... Carlos Castenada, cualquiera?

Entonces el nombre de mi álbum video de música es, "Soja de Yo no Hombre Lobo". ("Soy el Hombre lobo".) Pienso que tiene como ocho videos de música en ello y dura sólo un pequeños más de diez minutos.

Todavía, córteme algún flojo, como trato de construir mi blog y Canal de Youtube, es bastante fresco que puedo volver más de tres valor de años de videos y rehacerlo, listas de reproducción de marca consigo, tiran algunos lazos en ello. Sabe. Cree mi primer álbum de música original con diez selecciones entrega escogido por el artista conocido como Jimmy Salto.

Red Dog is a good looking dog, no?

I have always been fascinated with stories about wolves, coyotes and chupacabras.

Ha! Preposterous! Some people would say, but I disagree. My spirit animal, a Cascade Fox, told me that all this werewolf stuff is for real. Spirit animals and stuff... Carlos Castenada, anyone?

So the name of my video music album is, "Yo Soy un Hombre Lobo." ("I am the Man Wolf.") I think it has like eight music videos on it and it lasts just a little over ten minutes.

Still, cut me some slack, as I try to build my blog and Youtube Channel, it's pretty cool that I can go back over three years worth of videos and rework it, make playlists with it, throw some links into it. You know. Create my first album of original music with ten selections hand picked by the artist known as Jimmy Jump.

Do you give your dog enough water?

One of the basic things every dog needs every day is fresh water. Exactly how much water is that?

From what I have heard the right amount of water is about an ounce of water per day per pound your dog weighs. So a 12 lb. little dog would need a medium-sized glass of water per day. But a 64 lb. dog would need a gallon.

Dogs are also self-regulating waterers. That means that if you put out a bunch of water for them, dogs will drink as much as they want or need. If they drink too much, they can leave some on the trees and the grass and the neighbor kid's bicycle.

My old dog Blue had quite a record of going pee on stuff. He really like to go you-know-what on other dogs, especially little dogs. He'd just mark them as soon as they got in position.

Blue also liked to mark other people's stuff, like their gear bags and ice chests. Blue liked to pee on buildings, food, statutes and people.

Yes, even people. Myself included.

Blue once peed on the marketing director of the local human society. I felt so bad, because the guy is awesome and he's in a wheelchair. What does my dog do? Lift his leg on the guy in the wheelchair.

Why? I have no idea. But I always try to give Blue enough water.

Actually, always have fresh water available for your dog. When you play with your dog (or play a dog sport) you should always have a bowl around for all of the dogs.

The only dog wee wee story I have that tops Blue's exploits would be the time that Red Dog peed on my brother's Christmas Tree. Red Dog was not allowed back into my brother's house for quite some time because Mrs. My Brother did not appreciate Red Dog's sense of humour.

"Hey, I was just goofin' and I peed on your Christmas Tree," said Red Dog.

"Leave now and I will let you live," said Mrs. Brother's Wife.

THE SPOT ON THE RUG AWARD GOES TO ... NEWT GINGRICH

The Spot on the Carpet Award this week goes to Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of the United States House of Representatives. Because, ah heck, why not? Maybe he didn't mess on the carpet (we don't have proof he did) but it could still happen. Maybe we should make Newt Gingrich prove that he didn't poop on the carpet. Yeah, I like that and I mean that. I'm not saying that Newton isn't a captivating American persona or that he wouldn't be a great guy to have a couple of beers with, but I give it like 3 to 2 odds that there will be a "wet clean up in aisle five" before the Republican Presidential Primaries are over. Gingrich is so much fun, because he's such an Alpha Henry (Ass Hole). Plus, his name is really fun to say. So, what's all this stuff with Newt Gingrich anyway? He was an up and coming Republican contender from 1979 to 1999 but then quit and ran off chasing dollar bills. He likes to found stuff, like the Conservative Opportunity Society (1983) and lots and lots of other stuff. He must be a vampire, as he is always busy creating new Republican political stuff and then creating more stuff. Even his wife, Callista Gingrich, creates stuff like books and movies, and she plans to personally get some more cranky conservatives into the Lame Stream Media business. Herself included! Book them a studio, American Conservative Television with Calli at the helm will restore the appropriate Gingrich principles in the American People. Why am I suddenly thinking about how many pairs of shoes Emelda Marcos had when the Marcos controlled the Phillipines. Har! I marvel at the guy. It takes a lot of work, effort and practice to be a pain in the ass on the level of Newtie. I became quite fascinated with him and started looking him up. The whole ethics violation thing had Newtie got all hot and going on in some college course he was teaching and then all the little Newties went and started making televisions shows about God knows what. Actually, I think it would have been "Republican knows what" as they went too far on that. And they had their little take-over-the-world Republican television thing and set up as a 501(c)(3) or some similar non-profit, probably religious. But making television ten or 15 years ago was an expensive proposition. The big problem came from spending money donated to the non-profit on activities that were more political than religious. Vote Republic and often, Gingrich replied. Then became a like a multi-year beat down on poor little Newton, as he was investigated and he appealed, and the darn thing wound out over time. The former Speaker was not convicted of any crimes, mind you. Please be well assured of that. But it pretty much did him in politically. Off to be a corporate mercenary -- power and influence traded for money. Then there's the high quality (or "weird-assed" if you rather) books and movies Newt and Callista make. Yeah, it's this odd little tripped out Republican money bomb politics thing. A good candidate pounds his message into the people. A good candidate might pound on his opponent's record, mistakes, or lack of experience. Newt Gingrich just pounds the table. Have you ever known someone like him? Someone ready to argue and fight on a moment's notice? The worst mistake you can make is to play their game. It's a psych out technique. The oldest trick in the book. Like grabbing someone's tie while you yell at them. You drop to their level and they win. Newt can sling mud and trashy rhetoric out to media before his first sip of morning coffee. The line in the song is "Chopping up issues like they's fire wood, Newt-a-tude..."

How should you care for a geriatric dog?

Beyond the basics of food, shelter and medical care, older dogs need interaction and attention as much as any dog does. The "Funny Hats" dog game is excellently suited for elderly dogs and dog breeds with lower activity levels.

The photo at the start start of the video is of the Good Boy Blue, who was my "show" or "performance" dog for about eight or nine years. I retired him when he was around 11 years old. He is currently 13 years old.

How do I care for my old dog? A few quick tips - be sure to keep their nails clipped, as elder dogs require less activity nail clipping becomes essential; moisten a towel with warm water and give grandpa (or grandma) dog a good old sponge bath, they'll love it; a check up with your veterinarian is highly recommended.

The Good Boy Blue has slowly lost most of his eyesight, but his hearing is still exceptional, his appetite is good, and he can still romp around and play when he wants to. Not bad for one of the elder statesmen of canine disc. Blue started performing at disc dog competitions in 2001. He was a runner up to be the dog pictured on the large size Milkbone Dog Biscuit box, and that was really fun. He performed freestyle canine disc with the member of the Washington Owners of Flying Disc Dogs from 2001 through about 2009. He was a five time Skyhoundz Canine Disc World Championship contender from '02 through '06. In the photo at the beginning of this video, it's Blue and me performing that Human Canine Disc World Championships in Seattle, Washington, in approximately 2004. Blue is still in excellent shape, and I call him a "skinny old man." Yet, I watch him, as anyone who cares for an elderly dog should. He has a couple of lipomas that I keep an eyey on. I make sure he has plenty of fresh water. I make sure he gets a good walk every day. But I also watch him to make sure that he's not experiencing pain or discomfort. He's a bit arthritic, but that's not terribly surprising. I'll get some links and research together on the topic of caring for an elderly dog. COSMIC PANDA: COSMIC JOKE OR NEXT BIG THING?

Communicating with the Panda Mothership

Youtube has introduced a beta test site-redesign with the code name, Cosmic Panda.
As with any beta, it's glitchy, but it shows Google and Youtube's ongoing efforts to evolve and maintain position as the premier video upload site (and advertising conduit) on the internet.

Cosmic Panda shows great potential for improving Youtube users' experience. Users will be treated to larger video thumbnails (at least on channel pages) and better organized content. The beta suggests that users might also be able to control the size of the box in which a video plays, giving more options than the standard or full-screen viewing options presently available.

The upgrade shows potential for allowing creators to have improved control over the positioning of content on a creator channel. Cosmic Panda also displays features that will allow video content creators to organize their Youtube channels to showcase featured channels, blog-style updates or uploads.

On the beta (glitchy) side:

1) I couldn't manage to do simple tasks, such as post a video response, send a message to a friend or meaningfully work with and compare the four channel templates provided in the update.
2) While a creator's avatar won't require any changes, it seems readily apparent that creators will need to spend some time tweaking their channel background images, choosing a template, and re-acquainting themselves with navigating the video site.
3) When I tried to give feedback on the Cosmic Panda (solicited feedback, no less) I got an auto-generated reply, saying that my attempt at feedback was not recognized and that I would need to try again later. Arg!

Anyway, I'm going to give the Cosmic Panda upgrade a B+ for now. It's a really nice try. All those hard-working folks at Youtube put a lot into this, it's an ambitious redesign, and it looks very promising at this point. Cosmic Panda is not a cosmic joke. It is the quite possibly the look and feel of the future.

Allow me to show you how we party on the Fourth of July in Washington state ... yeah, Bikini Snow Skiing! The Native Americans called Mount Rainier the "mother of waters" and the "mountain that was god." Bingo! I'm only about an eighth Native American, but the beliefs ring true to me.

I went on yet another pilgrimage to visit Mount Rainier, and I had a spectacular time. As I have for the past few years, I journeyed to the mountains on the fourth of July. Super awesome!
