Gonna take a break from critters and stuff and do something else here.

What’s Lucky Day? It’s a scratcher and lotto app for your phone or tablet. You can get it on the Google Play Store. Have an Apple device? Sorry. That’s a no-go.

The app seems like a good way to earn a bit of cash, right? Well, maybe not so much. In theory? Yes. There’s a very nice lotto prize, some nice raffles, and plenty of scratchers. But the odds of winning any of those? Rather poor.

There are several mini-games available. You have:

Lucky Day Home Page

Scratchers. Sorta like the real ones from the stores. Click it it, rub the grey off, see what is revealed.

A lotto game, pick 6 numbers. Best I’ve hit is three.

Raffles. Watch and ad, grab the tickets and maybe your number will come up.

Piggy Heist is a mini-game inside the scratchers. Gives you a chance to swipe a few bucks from other players.

Trophy tournament and Trophy Royale. Collect the most trophies in your group of ten and get a chance to win $5 or $10.

You can also do things like surveys, other games, etc., in order to earn more tokens.

Want a better chance at some things? You can buy special scratchers.

You can also change your piggy.

Can You Actually Win Money With Lucky Day?

I have cashed out twice. Since November 2019. LOL

Scratchers, Raffles, and Lottos

So I’ve played for awhile… The image is from the profile page.

When you start out, with zero balance, and scratch the scratchers, you will occasionally win 25 cents to about $1. Way back when I got to $10.05 that way and did cash-out. They have since fixed that, so once you are close to $10 then the cash winnings stop. I’ve been at $9.75 for quite some time.

For the second cash-out, I won one of the $50 raffles. I had gained $9.90 from the scratchers at that point, so it was a $59.90 total. It took about a week to get the money, in both cases. The money only goes to PayPal, not to your bank or anything else.

Note: The game is 100% free. You do have the option of spending money for “no ads” and/or fancy scratchers, but it is not required.

So a Bit More About Those Scratchers

Lucky day has a bunch of scratchers, 37 in total. They’re labelled $2 and up. In my experience there is no money to be won from any of them, other than what was mentioned above, and I’ve done about 40k scratchers. (You can see the totals on your profile page, just tap your image.)

Other than the cash mentioned above, there are no cash scratcher winnings. (What?!?) So yeah, those $10 and $50 and $100 (etc) prizes will never appear. My profile page says 40,000+ scratchers scratched. So I think I can say that with some certainty. Maybe someone else has gotten a winner, but it wasn’t me.

So what good are the scratchers? You win tokens and trophies.

About those Tokens and the Gift Cards

The tokens, in theory, can be used to buy gift cards (LOL) and extra raffle tickets. At the top of your screen with be the number of tokens won so far. Tap that and you’ll see the “available” gift cards. Once you have enough tokens to buy any of them, you will see that they are all sold out. Always.

Lucky Day Profile Page

I earned 120 million tokens (yes, really) a few years back, but no cards ever became available. I’m currently at 10,800,000. And yes, all gift cards are always sold out.

There is another gift card, on your profile page. 10,000,000 tokens for the $10 card. It’s actually about 10,500,000, but what the heck. I have 11,000,000 right now and nope. It is not available. It does not have the “sold out” note, it is simply not available and not clickable.

There is also a set of “puzzle pieces” which you can earn from the scratchers. Get six and, you will earn a Rewards Membership Card.” Then you can actually use your tokens to buy gift cards. Well… maybe not. I’ve been stuck at 5 for a long time now. So this is just like the cash you’ll “win” from the scratchers.

So the other use for tokens is buying additional raffle tickets. 10k per ticket. Buy a bunch and that should increase your odds of winning a raffle prize. Right? Yeah… Oh, the $50 raffle that I won? I had not bought any additional tickets for that one. Good luck!

Oh, and you also get a daily token prize with the first game you play that day. Up to 8k tokens on day 5. There’s a wheel you spin for that one, showing a variety of prizes, but “the win” is only ever 8k tokens. So you will gradually accumulate plenty of tokens.

In addition the the gift cards you can, in theory, get actual gifts. As an example, for a measly 150,000,000 tokens you can buy a set of “Samsung Galaxy Buds+ Plus.” Gonna take you a loooong time to get that 150 million. And it’ll probably be sold out anyway.

About those Trophies

Trophies are for a “Trophy Tournament.” They’re similar to token, but the only thing they’re used for is that “Trophy Tournament.” You are competing with 9 other random players to be #1 and thereby enter the drawing for a $10 prize. There are *many* other groups of 10, so your odds of actually winning that $10 are… low.

There is also the “Trophy Royal,” with a $5 prize (used to be $100) that operates the same way. But you will not earn nearly enough trophies through the scratchers to get to the top. You can buy trophy scratchers, but I don’t see the point for a $5 prize.

Another Scratcher Game, The Piggy Heist

The Piggy Cash Page

Another game related to the scratchers is for Piggy Cash. Over the course of your daily scratching away you will see two or three “Piggy Heists,” and you will also see “laser traps.”

For the Heist: you will see a screen with your opponent’s piggy and your job is to tap the dots that appear on the piggy. The yellow ones will provide some reward. The game lasts a few seconds and then you’ll see how much you heisted from the other player. Best I’ve done is $35. Usually it’s about $3, give or take a bit.

The laser traps protect your piggy from the other players. 3+ traps makes you immune to theft from others and you can have a maximum stack of ten. Generally you will lose one for each attempted heist from another player.

You will eventually, assuming you play the games, accumulate some cash in the Piggy Bank. The trick, of course, if getting it out.

Collect more than ten and the extras go to your “Nuts and Bolts” stack. There is a progress bar that you will see in your “Piggy Cash” section. Once the progress bar is full of nuts and bolts then you can spin the piggy slots for a chance at winning something. These days? The bar is not filling up at all. So this game is pretty much like the gift cards. That $769 I have in “Piggy Cash” will never appear. But if I run out of laser traps then other players will be able to swipe bits of it.

The Lotto Game

The Lotto. Standard lotto thingy. Pick six numbers and let it run. One entry per day. Your odds of winning are 1 in 175,000,000. You can check odds for various Luck Day games here.

1 – 4 winning numbers earns you trophies or tokens. 5 numbers earns $5 and all 6 the big prize. A little over $460,000 at this writing. The odds of winning? About the same as a real lotto. I’ve hit three numbers about 4 times, out of 424 played. Never seen 4+. The amount in the pot increases a little bit each day.

I haven’t seen any indication that anyone else has won, either. If someone did then it was not obvious. But maybe it’ll be you.

Now About Those Raffles

Raffles are just like the raffles you enter in real life. Enter the raffle, get a ticket, then spin the wheel for 1-10 more tickets. You can also use tokens to buy extra tickets. As I mentioned above, I did win one of the $50 ones and it did pay out. I did not buy any extra tickets for that one.

The $10 raffles last a day and the $1,000 one takes 30 days. When the time is up you’ll get to poke a screen and see the winner.

And Those Ads…

Ads. Yes, ads. Plenty of ads. There are 37 scratchers available and you’ll watch 25-30 ads to get through all of them. Another ad for each raffle you enter. And a couple of miscellaneous ones, just because. And mostly they’ll be the same few ads, over and over.

So you scratch a couple, put the phone down and do something else, come back, click the “X” to exit the ad and do another scratcher or three.

You can also earn tokens and trophies by watching more ads. Go to the menu, tap “free tokens” and you’ll see four items.

Special Offers: Lots of various offers and games. You’ll earn plenty of tokens by completing these. Explore, there’s a bunch there.

Take a Survey: Fill out a survey, which takes anywhere from 2-30 minutes. Win plenty of tokens.

Watch Ads (videos) and get 1,000 tokens each.

Watch Ads (videos) and get 1-100 trophies per video. 5 videos max. This is good if you are close to the top in that Trophy Tournament.

Winding It All Up

Plusses: The app is pretty stable and offers a variety of things to do and it’s free. People do win the raffles, you can see them when you hit the “raffle winner” screen.

Minuses: No gift cards, at least in my experience. Odds of winning anything are… rather poor. Plenty of ads, but those pay for the prizes.

2.5 stars out of five.

So my sister was watching these videos and they’re very cool.

Basically Hope for Paws rescues dogs, cats, birds, and other lost/stray critters reported to them. Then they get the critters fixed up, healthy again, and try to find them new homes. Very cool. Here’s their YouTube channel.

Three of their rescue videos are here, there are many others on their YouTube.

McKenzie is rather unhappy, but had a happy ending:

This family of kittens was left behind, and the mother was nowhere to be found. A Good Samaritan called #HopeForPaws and this time, JoAnn Wiltz and Katie McKittrick responded!

Some kittens stuck in a bad place get a new opportunity.

Crixus is the brindle, has a curly tail, is a bit smaller, and has developed a very different personality, though they’re best buds.

Pet lovers! There’s a new world of accessories for pets you may never have imagined!

[ad]Those of us who have pets know what a joy animals can bring into your daily life. Pets can indeed be a best friend. Just like people, our pets have personalities. They can make us laugh and give us ‘someone’ to talk to, even if none of our human companions are home.

Numerous studies conducted on the relationships formed between pets and their owners demonstrate that people who have pets tend to be less lonely, more productive and less stressed than people without a lovable critter in their home.
It’s even been shown, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that older folks with pets live longer! Pet owners enjoy all of these benefits. So it’s no wonder that pet owners love to lavish love on their beloved pets.

These days, pets are on our gift lists, for the holidays, a pet’s birthday, or for no occasion whatsoever. The booming pet accessory market is fueled by you, the pet lover. If you haven’t looked lately, you’ll be amazed to see the accessories for pets that are now available, on the net and in your local pet shop.

It used to be that all you could find was a cat scratching post, catnip, a few dog toys and chew bones. That’s all changed. When you go shopping for accessories for pets, the choices can rival those you’ll find for your own wardrobe and home!

Sure, you’ll find more versatility in the usuals, like dog food dishes and cat litter pans. Today, Fido dines in style. Forget the old hubcap-rim nee dog dish. Today, you can choose from raised dog dishes in a variety of materials, from gleaming stainless steel to decorated ceramic dog bowls, some sporting a double tray, one for water and the other for food.
Kitties have drinking fountains and can now brush their teeth, with your help, for shiny sharp teeth for chasing little catnip mice on a rope. Dogs, too, have doggie toothbrushes to keep their canines clean and healthy.

Your pet can be a celebrity, even if you’re not. Your accessories for pets may include personalized leashes, stylish, glitzy collars for both dogs and cats, as well as waterproof leggings for inclement weather. Bet you don’t have all that in your closet! Small pets can be ultra-cool and dress for success in pet clothing, with tiny pants and dresses for the hip pet.

You, the pet owner, needn’t be left out. There are accessories for pets owners, too! There are bath towels, wallpaper and soap dishes for humans, decorated with woofers and kitties.

Even the kid’s hamsters and mice can be indulged with their own pet accessories. You’ll find little woven edible nests in the form of a nutritious high-fiber snack. They discover this tasty nest and when they’ve enjoyed it to the last, you just replace it! What will they think of next?!
