Like it or not, WikiLeaks is fundamentally a journalistic entity, and as such it deserves our protection."

My name is Terry Pratchett, author of a series of inexplicably successful fantasy books and I have had Alzheimer's now for the past two years plus, in which time I managed to write a couple of bestsellers.

I have a rare variant. I don't understand very much about it, but apparently if you are going to have Alzheimer's it's a good one to have. More about Terry Pratchett:

In August 1994, at the age of 83, Ronald Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He informed the United States reading a hand-written letter, in part in part he said,

“I have recently been told that I am one of the millions of Americans who will be afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease... At the moment I feel just fine. I intend to live the remainder of the years God gives me on this earth doing the things I have always done... I now begin the journey that will lead me into the sunset of my life. I know that for America there will always be a bright dawn ahead. Thank you, my friends. May God always bless you."

Eugenics and race purification is usually associated with Nazi Germany, however, less acknowledged, is the enthusiasm of the eugenics movement in the United States.

"The eugenics movement coincided with one of the greatest eras in U.S. immigration. During the first two decades of the 20th century, 600,000-1,250,000 immigrants per year entered the country through Ellis Island (except during World War I). Unlike earlier waves of immigrants who came primarily from northern Europe, the 20th century brought an influx from southern and eastern Europe. Eugenicists, most of whom were of northern and western European heritage, worried that the new immigrants weakened America biologically, and lobbied for federal legislation to selectively restrict immigration from "undesirable" countries."

Following a great deal of conversation, conceptualizations, experiencing the cons, crying, further pondering, lists, et cetera, we have arrived at a difficult conclusion. My dad requires placement in a Nursing facility. In a while I will begin a new blog centering on this decision.

Recently my days comprise of taking care of my dad and sleeping. I look forward to catching up with my new and old friends. I am determined to be back.

I am not an individual who puts in writing an extensive list of New Years Resolutions. If I were to, nonetheless it would include reading. I love to read, yet, I never seem to make the time. I have piles and piles of books to read, have read and want to give away. Perhaps it is the point in time to burrow into a stack and read, read, read. I am also open to suggestions.
Has anybody read an amazing book lately?
