Tudor Barn

2012-01-06T09:37:00.000-08:00

Tudor Barn Eltham is all that remains of the country mansion that was built for William Roper and Margaret More, daughter of Thomas More, Lord Chancellor to Henry VIII and is surrounded by a medieval moat and nearby scented gardens. The venue is situated in thirteen acres of beautiful award winning gardens and has stood on this ancient site, which is connected historically with the Tudor Monarchs´ residence at nearby Eltham Palace, since 1525.
Sir Gregory Page acquired the Well Hall Estates from the Roper family in 1733 and a new house was built between the moat and Well Hall Road. Its most famous occupant was children’s author Edith Nesbit, who wrote The Railway Children, and lived here from 1899 until 1922.
The 16th Century Tudor Barn is a haven of rural peace just twenty minutes from Central London, and is a fantastic destination venue for excellent food and drinks. as well as being the perfect setting to host events including weddings, parties, conference, wakes and special occasion.

Taking pictures of this family was truly fun, time seemed to fly by so quickly! It was lovely seeing them laughing and teasing one another as if they see each other everyday; unfortunately they don't. In fact they all live in different countries...quite far actually, with distances going from England to Finland to Australia. However the love and bond between this family clearly transcends distance of miles and defies geography and it clearly showed that they were enjoying every single moment together. I personally believe the merit goes to the parents (also grandparents) for instilling in all the true meaning of family. For me the best picture that describes this is the three beautiful women laughing with their mother in law! Click on each photo to view them in bigger resolution!

What best way of enjoying the crisp air of an English autum day, than spending time with Tim taking photos of our little (growing) family. Eltham Pleasaunce's tint of soft-warm red, orange and brown was the perfect backdrop. Angela

The Freys - Freydom Abroad

2011-10-31T05:25:00.000-07:00

" ‘Freydom’ refers to Brad, Julia, Mitchell and Vika Frey, currently living in London, UK, participating in the work of Eltham Green Community Church as youth leaders.
‘Abroad’ refers to our home away from home. Some time ago we left our life in Canada and moved to London as a preparation for the next step of our lives- move to Italy to work as missionaries in that incredible and spiritually needy place. "

Very lovely and inspiring family past through my lens. If you want to know more about them or their work follow them on their blog: http://bradnjulia.wordpress.com/ . Tim

Locked in the Park

2011-07-09T06:38:00.000-07:00

On Thursday we had Teo passing by and we wanted to spend the evening into a park. So we decided we should go to Greenwich park. It was about nine in the evening and thought that the park will probably close but we hoped we don't stay long. Well after a while we decided to go home. I did paused for a minute and started to question "what if they closed the gates?" And as you expect, I assume, the gates were closed. :( There was a small house that looked like a hut and its lights were on but no one was there. We took the manager's number from a board and we called. We eventually called the police afterall because the manager couldn't help us. They sent us to a different gate and there we waited for them for about 45 minutes. They eventually called us and said that there is an event at the other end of the park and we got there and finally got out. The first picture you see in the night on streets was literally after we got out. I'm sorry I don't have more picture because I didn't bring my tripod with me. But the good part in this is that I got to experiment with night photography which I enjoyed a lot. Soon I'll probably get Angela and go central London and take some night time pictures. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Fragrancies of Friendship...

2011-07-06T10:59:00.000-07:00

"With immediacy and intensity, smell activates the memory, allowing our minds to travel freely in time."

Tom Robbins Jitterbug Perfume 1984

Valentina is a truly good friend, a real inspiration and an amazing woman. I have known her for few years and our friendship has grown stronger. She has accomplished so much in her life and I know she will do much more. She is a fashion blogger and the Editor in Chief of a free press magazine, Spray Magazine. In these few pictures I captured just a hint of her inner (and outer) beauty and the fragrant coulours of one of my favourite flowers.
