It doesn’t matter what your individual style is, you are guaranteed to find the perfect handbag style for you. The list really is endless when it comes to the options available.

Our advice is always have a basic checklist when shopping for your next handbag. What’s the occasion? If it is something you will use quite regularly maybe go for leather as opposed to a synthetic product, it will be able to take a bit more of a beating and will certainly last you a lot longer. Do you prefer two straps or one? What number and type of pockets do you require to keep yourself organised and able to find your ringing mobile quickly? Once you have these important questions answered we are sure you will find it much easier to stay focussed in your mission and certainly more successful. For those that need a little extra assistance we have compiled this handy style guide, of some of the more popular styles available. We hope you find this useful….

Shoulder Bag

We thought we would start with probably the most popular style of all,

the Shoulder bag.

Either one or two straps they are always long enough that you can place this

style on the shoulder to enable you to have two free hands at all times.

Coming in a range of sizes, it will definitely hold all your daily essentials and

will snuggle in nicely under your arm for extra security.

Handbag

For the lady that prefers to carry her bag in her hand

or on the crook of her arm, the handbag will also come

in a range of sizes, but will generally be smaller

in size to her Shoulder Bag sister.

Hobo

This slouchy style bag was originally around in the 60’s and has

been brought back to life with the recent return of Boho fashion trends.

Gorgeous embellishments such as tassels, fringing, buttons and jewels

or simply made with the most fabulous soft leathers to

give it a more casual appeal, the Hobo is great for throwing

over the shoulder and getting out and about on the weekends.

Shopper Tote

Another favourite “everyday” style, the shopper tote

is perfect for carrying all your daily essentials and usually

large enough to pop in a stylish filofax or compendium

when attending that all important meeting. Also fabulous

for a trip to the market or a day of retail therapy, you’ll

always have room for the aqua.

Barrel

Longer rather than deep, this shallow style bag

will ensure that you always find what you are looking

for straight away as the neckline is generally the length of the bag so it opens up

nice and wide. Coming in both a short and longer strap option,

some will even come with both options making this a very versatile style.

Clutch

My favourite style of all… the clutch is the

perfect way to complete any outfit. Coming in a range of

sizes you can carry as little or as much as you

like in this compact bag. Generally used for evening

occasions, the clutch (of late) has grown in size making

it a perfect choice when heading out for lunch with the girls too. Many will come with a strap

option for wearing over the shoulder or around the wrist, although most commonly worn in the arm pit

keeping your hands free.

Evening Bag

Similar to the clutch the evening bag is usually

a little more embellished, always looks cute with a

matching pair of stilettos and loves a little bit of bling.

Generally large enough to pop a few make up essentials,

to ensure you always look your best, a mobile phone

and a small coin purse, the evening bag can be your

outfit statement piece or just something simple to complete your look.

Backpack

Perfect for travelling or for the Mum that needs two hands to hang

onto the kids, the backpack gives you the freedom to go anywhere.

This functional bag is also great for your posture.

Messenger

Another travelling favourite, the messenger or saddle bag

comes with a longer strap so you can throw your strap

over your head and keep both hands free, ensuring you

still have easy access to your belongings.
