I often get enquiries about discounts for bulk-submissions to my directories (domaining.in, 9ug & iWebDirectory). If you are interested in submitting more than 20 URLs then I can offer a 20% discount (please be aware that all submissions are still subject to our rigorous review process). You just need to supply a spreadsheet containing all the site details (title, URL, description, suggested category etc) and I will add the sites manually for you (saving you time adding each one through the submission form). New degradome analysis tool – PAREsnip

PAREsnip is a new, freely available Java-based tool for analysis of plant miRNA targets utilising small RNA and degradome high-throughput sequencing data. Unlike other tools which search for targets of a subset of small RNAs (e.g. known miRNAs and ta-siRNAs) PAREsnip allows the user to search for target of every small RNA sequenced in a typical next-generation sequencing dataset.

PAREsnip is part of the UEA Small RNA Workbench (a suite of small RNA analysis tools) which can be downloaded from Sourceforge here

For any scientists out there I highly recommend signing up for a Google Scholar account. The recent addition of “My Citations” is a really excellent tool for tracking which (and how many) papers cite your work along with metrics such as h-index. October update

Just a quick update to say that things should now all be back to normal after the server move. I hope that all bugs have been ironed out (thanks to all that reported problems). We are still catching up with a huge backlog of free submissions – the waiting time could be up to 14 months at the moment but I’m doing my best to work my way through the backlog, of course you have the option of submitting express reviews or featured links if you don’t want to wait that long (these are usually reviewed within 2 hours but guaranteed review within 24 hours).

For those of you interested in buying and selling domain names I have added a free domain droplist scanner and am taking offers on the domains including gummi.com gyrate.com and many more..

Recently SEOMoz published a list of the 400 top directories in different niches. I’m pleased to say that both domaining.in and 9ug Directory made the list. Domaining.in ranked in the top 15 of all general directories based on domain authority and MozRank.

I think that you have to be a Pro member to view the entire list but I will also be adding to my list of strong directories once I get some more time..

Domaining.in has moved to a new server..

After lots of trouble with extremely high server loads on my previous dedicated server and Hostgator technical support not being able to resolve the issue after several weeks of trying (and failing) I decided to move to a new host. I’ve already spotted a few things that were not working correctly (and have had a couple of emails reporting problems), hopefully all of these are now fixed but if you see something that doesn’t work or are having trouble with anything then please let me know and I will do my best to fix it.

Server woes

Just a quick update, as you’ve probably realized we’ve been having some serious server problems this month and Hostgator have been unable to sort this mess out. As a result I will be switching to a new dedicated server through a different hosting company today and will hopefully have the site up and running again within a day or two once everything is set up and copied across. Once again apologies for the downtime, I am trying to get this resolved ASAP.
