After 15 albums with INCOGNITO, the band’s driving force Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick has recorded a remarkable debut solo album “Leap of Faith” (pre-order now), for release by Dome on March 25.

This stunning album features all lead and backing vocals by this traditionally most reluctant of singers (who has sung on only a couple of Incognito tracks over the years). With most of the songs co-written and co-produced with one of his long standing collaborators Richard Bull, it ranges from dance anthems to funk to modern soul floor fillers such as lead single “Got To Let My Feelings Show”.

Bluey explains: “I have always felt comfortable leading from the back – guiding others and bringing out the best of their artistry. This past year was the first time I felt a compelling desire to bare my soul in this way with what one of my friends called my musical autobiography.

“In Incognito I am surrounded by awesome musicians and singers. I needed to reach a place where I felt my voice had its own space and that my sound was not just a twist on the band’s theme. Once there it was just a matter of jumping in… taking a leap of faith”.

The album includes some stunning falsetto vocal performances and a couple of stand-out house tracks “Ain’t Nobody’s Business” and “Why Did I Let You Go”, co-produced by Ski Oakenfull and Simon Grey respectively.

Congratulations to Eric Roberson on a sell-out show at Bassline, Johannesburg, on his very first visit to South Africa.   Earlier this year Eric’s “Summertime Anthem” reached No 1 on the chart of Johannesburg’s KAYA FM and he paid the station a visit during his 3-day stay in the city.

A return visit is already on the cards for 2013.

Coming next month – the fourth studio album from Atlanta singer-songwriter ANTHONY DAVID.

The album titled “Love Out Loud” is released November 12 on Dome (Dome CD 315).

As with his prior album “As Above So Below”, it includes another stunning duet – titled “Official” – with fellow Atlanta vocalist Algebra, as well as a beautiful lovers rock tune “Livin’ It Up” – a collaboration with Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage and vocalist Demetria McKinney.

Three tracks on “Love Out Loud” are produced by Nashville’s Shannon Sanders (John Legend, India Arie, Eric Benet), who worked with Anthony on his previous album.  Accompanying him on the title track are members of All Walks Of Life, a performing arts youth organisation from Anthony’s home town of Savannah, Georgia.

Joslyn Petty was brought up in Washington, D.C. until her mid-teens, but then moved with her family to Salt Lake City. The local music scene led to session work, local gigs and finally a job as a receptionist at a recording studio. It was there she met the Canadian production duo Craig Poole and Rob Wannamaker, and together they began crafting the sound that is JOSLYN.

We first heard the voice of Joslyn several years ago and immediately included the smooth soul ballad “Used To” on “Soul Lounge 4”. More songs were recorded and “Never Ending” found its way onto “Soul Lounge 6”.

Some of Joslyn’s early material attracted attention from UK radio presenters and reviewers, including Blues & Soul, who described her style as “Maxwell meets Lisa Stansfield at her very best”.

In 2012, with close to 20 tracks from Joslyn recorded, we found ourselves returning periodically to these classy, soulful productions, featuring the girl with the warm, intimate voice. An album of 11 of her finest tracks has been distilled, and finally receives a UK and European release on Dome – available now on iTunes

Joslyn and the production team also re-visit “Hangin’ On A String” and succeed in bringing something new to the Eighties classic. The album’s other cover is “Circle”, originally by Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan.
