During a House Ways and Means Committee hearing today, Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., grilled outgoing IRS commissioner Steven Miller about the IRS targeting a pro-life group in Iowa.

“Their question, specifically asked from the IRS to the Coalition for Life of Iowa: ‘Please detail the content of the members of your organization’s prayers,’" Schock declared.

“Would that be an inappropriate question to a 501 c3 applicant?” asked Schock. “The content of one’s prayers?”

“It pains me to say I can’t speak to that one either,” Miller replied.

After Schock pressed him further, Miller explained that although he couldn't comment on the specific case, it would "surprise him" if that question was asked.

Obamacare is beginning to pack its punch people! A good friend of mine got a letter in the mail today from their doctor who they have been seeing for over 10 years through their health insurance plan. Well, it seems that Obamacare has now forced their personal family physician to significantly decrease his practice and sign on with a program that will have an annual membership fee should they choose to enroll. The fee is $1650 a person. I’m guessing the annual membership fee doesn’t cover the actual doctor visits or the cost of the tests that will need to be run, if any at all depending on the healthcare needs of this family. I can’t say that I blame the doctor. Then there is the pediatrician and other specialists this family has seen over the years depending on their needs. I wonder what their fees will be and my friend has health insurance. So, if you have health insurance then you still have to come up with a membership fee on top of that. That’s pretty freaking incredible! This is all Obama’s doing with the help of socialist-loving-liberals everywhere. Thank You America!!! (If you love Obama and voted for him – save it.)

I'd like to thank our President... No, YOUR President. He is not mine. I will pray for him as God tells me to, but other than that I have nothing but dislike for him. Benghazi and the IRS

Benghazi – It amazes me how much our Govt lies to us about pretty much everything. Who executed the order to stand down? What happened in Benghazi and why isn’t our Govt working its ass off to get to the bottom of it? Why were we lied to? We're supposed to protect and defend our citizens. It’s pretty clear to everyone, including myself, that what happened in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 had absolutely nothing to do with a video.

IRS – It seems that the IRS targeted conservative groups with words like “patriot” and “tea party” in their titles. Have you heard about this? If you haven’t heard about this I highly recommend you look into it because the IRS admitted that they indeed targeted conservative groups. Why else would they apologize for doing so? Why haven’t they fired anyone at the IRS? Could it be they won’t fire anyone because they need every last official to oversee that monstrosity called the “affordable” care act? Are you ready for the IRS to police your affiliations, your savings accounts, and your health care?

The Pentagon has confirmed that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith – this includes Chaplains!

Being convicted in a court martial means that a soldier has committed a crime under federal military law. Punishment for a court martial can include imprisonment and being dishonorably discharged from the military.

READ PEOPLE!!

So President Barack Obama’s civilian appointees who lead the Pentagon are confirming that the military will make it a crime--possibly resulting in imprisonment--for those in uniform to share their faith. This would include chaplains—military officers who are ordained clergymen of their faith (mostly Christian pastors or priests, or Jewish rabbis)--whose duty since the founding of the U.S. military under George Washington is to teach their faith and minister to the spiritual needs of troops who come to them for counsel, instruction, or comfort.

Chris Kelly, one half of the '90s rap duo Kris Kross, has died of a possible drug overdose, Georgia authorities said. ~ABC News

How Kelly died isn't known, and the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said an autopsy is planned for Thursday. ~CNN News

Fans of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross have been mourning the loss of Chris Kelly, who died Wednesday night of an apparent drug overdose at his home in Georgia. No official cause of death has been determined. He was 34. ~USA Today

Chris Kelly, who rose to fame in the early '90s as half of the young rap duo Kris Kross, died Wednesday in Atlanta. He was 34. The Associated Press reports that Kelly was pronounced dead "at an Atlanta hospital on Wednesday [after] an apparent drug overdose at his home, authorities said. ... 'It appears it may have been a possible drug overdose,' said Cpl. Kay Lester, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County police." ~NPR

Kelly was found unresponsive at his home in Atlanta on Wednesday evening. He was transported to Atlanta Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police say the death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose. ~Billboard

A 22-month old smoked marijuana

Did you hear about the mom that let her 22-month old smoke marijuana? The entire incident was recorded on a cell phone. Feel free to Google this if you don't believe me.

The mother and father were arrested and the children in the home where taken into child protective services. The police also found 40 marijuana plants in their home.

This mother thinks it's a joke. She thinks what she is doing is funny. I don't think it's anything to laugh about. I hope the authorities take her children away and put them in a loving nurturing home.

These criminal potheads are destroying their children's brains. They don't deserve to be parents. I hope their parental rights get stripped from them. I feel sorry for those kids.

Sugary Drink Rules: Wack Jack!

A New York judge is forcing the Bloomberg administration to take a big gulp -- striking down its groundbreaking and controversial limit on the size of sugary drinks in New York City shortly before it was set to take effect.

Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Milton Tingling wrote in his opinion that the rules are "arbitrary and capricious," applying to only certain beverages and only certain stores.

"The loopholes in this rule effectively defeat the stated purpose of this rule," he wrote, complaining of "uneven enforcement even within a particular City block, much less the City as a whole."

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the city plans to appeal, calling the ruling "clearly an error."

"If we are serious about fighting obesity then we have to be honest about it and courageous about tackling it," Bloomberg said. "We believe it is reasonable and responsible to draw a line."

But Tingling said the city's Board of Health went beyond its authority, and effectively would be "limited by its own imagination" if left unchecked.

"The portion cap rule, if upheld, would create an administrative Leviathan and violate the separation of powers doctrine," by straying into territory that should belong to the elected City Council, not the board appointed by Bloomberg, Tingling wrote. That, he wrote, "has the potential to be more troubling than sweetened beverages.

In the wake of the ruling, the American Beverage Association said the decision provided a "sigh of relief to New Yorkers and thousands of small businesses in New York City that would have been harmed by this arbitrary and unpopular ban." The city Board of Health approved the measure in September. Championed by Bloomberg, it follows on other efforts his administration has made to improve New Yorkers' eating habits, from compelling chain restaurants to post calorie counts on their menus to barring artificial trans fats in restaurant food to prodding food manufacturers to use less salt.

The city has said that while restaurant inspectors would start enforcing the soda size rule in March, they wouldn't seek fines -- $200 for a violation -- until June.

Soda makers, restaurateurs, movie theater owners and other business groups sued, asking a judge to declare the measure invalid. In February, they asked Tingling to bar the city from enforcing the regulation while the suit played out.

City officials have called the size limit a pioneering move for public health. They point to the city's rising obesity rate -- about 24 percent of adults, up from 18 percent in 2002 -- and to studies tying sugary drinks to weight gain. Care for obesity-related illnesses costs government health programs about $2.8 billion a year in New York City alone, according to city Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley.

The supersize-drink crackdown will "have significant public health effects, and the sooner that happens, the better," city lawyer Mark W. Muschenheim said in court in February.

Critics said the measure is too limited to make a meaningful impact on New Yorkers' waistlines. But they said it would take a bite out of business for the eateries that have to comply, while other establishments still will get sell sugary drinks in 2-liter bottles and supersize cups.

Beverage makers had expected to spend about $600,000 changing bottles and labels, movie theater owners feared losing soda sales that account for 20 percent of their profits, and delis and restaurants would have had to change inventory, reprint menus and make other adjustments, according to court papers.

"These are costs which these businesses are not going to be compensated for," and the money will be wasted if the court ultimately nixes the law, James E. Brandt, a lawyer for the American Beverage Association and other opponents, told the judge in February.

Critics also said the restriction should have gone before the elected City Council instead of the Bloomberg-appointed health board. The city says the panel of doctors and other health professionals had both the authority and expertise to make the decision.

Since when do terrorists have rights on our soil? Are terrorists putting their hands on a bible swearing to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Are we now mirandizing known terrorists as if they were citizens? Since when do known terrorists have the same rights as U.S. Citizens?

These known terrorists should be held at Guantanamo Bay and tried by a military tribunal. Why do we even have war time policies if they are not going to be followed? Why do we have laws on the books if they are not going to be enforced?

Known terrorists do not deserve to be able to by time with all of the red tape that can be found in a civilian court. We treat terrorists like gold and our own citizens like crap. Does that make sense to you?

It's based on a true story and it won top awards for best picture, too! I find it interesting that many would refer to it as U.S. propaganda. It's not U.S. propaganda. It really happened...ha! We loved the movie. I highly recommend it. It's very entertaining; however, I would not watch this movie in front of children. Wait and put your kiddos to bed before you watch it. I'd be curious to know what you think of this movie after you watch it. Please, I'm only interested in legitimate and authentic remarks.

Yes, I'm still here. Yes, I'm still paying attention. I haven't been blogging much about any of this because quite frankly, I'm disgusted. Common sense cuts need to be made, period. We cannot sustain this country on top of our 16 trillion and growing federal deficit. The people in this nation need to understand the difference between enabling and helping. Enabling someone is doing something for someone that they can and should do for themselves. Helping someone is doing something for someone that they cannot do for themselves. Our "entitled" society needs to give it a rest. You are not entitled to anything and instead should be grateful that you live in the land of opportunity where men are free to choose their own destiny. Yes, the foolishness in our Govt is beyond pathetic. I hope those who understand the difference between right and wrong are paying attention because we are being outnumbered by foolishness and our debt continues to grow at rapid rates.

The State of the Union is about to begin on prime time television. I decided not to watch it on any of the news networks because there is way too much chatter on the side. Instead, I have tuned into C-SPAN2 where I can watch it live, uninterrupted, and free of commentary.
