You need to make sure you use a laser printer when printing your picture on regular paper.  If you don’t have one you can use laser printers at Kinko’s or your local printing shop.

You may want to ask for the thinnest paper you’ll see why when who watch these how to videos. Just make sure it’s printed with a laser printer for this to work.

Materials you’re going to need are:

• Wood you want to apply your picture to.
• Laser printed picture on regular paper.
• Gel Medium and a cup or something to put the gel medium in- you can get this at your local arts and craft store like Michaels and Joann’s
• Rag to soak and remove your picture paper.
• Paint brush or sponge applicator
• Modge Podge to seal and protect- you can get this at your local arts and craft store like Michaels and Joann’s and even Walmart.
• You may want to use a credit card or something to help make sure you work out all the bubbles before you let it sit to dry.
• You could paint the outside edges of the wood if you want before hand and maybe match your decor.

1 Inside your head, think the count of numbers from 1 through 3.

Google Trends is the Google Keyword Tool that many website owners ignore, even though they are attempting to target specific audiences around the World. It may be more useful then the new Google Keyword Planner! (It absolutely is for me!)

Hot Searches gives you the hot topics of interest, constantly updated throughout the day!

Top Charts provides you with 47 major categories of the top items searched in the past month. When looking for ideas on subjects to write about, you may not need to look further than right here!

…is the section that allows you to get deep insights into your targeted keyword!

The graph quickly shows that the keyword (KW) “how to lose weight” had very little interest from 2005 – 2008, but began to climb March of 09′, & took a huge jump in October scoring a 76 out of a possible 100 for the month! Since 2011 the KW has remained fairly good, around an 80.

To the left of the graph are filters that allow you to focus your search using the drop down box options seen below:

The last filter option, “Categories”, is extensive! It allows you to fine tune your search, and recommends categories based upon your search term.

Take a look at what this next set of filter selections gives us.

Web Search, Worldwide, 2013, All Categories:

The graph below shows that worldwide interest in this search topic has remained high this year.

The “Related Terms” section shows the top related KW phrase that is searched is “lose weight fast”.

Pay special attention to the bottom right section… “RELATED TERMS”

No matter what KW phrase you begin with, the “Related Terms” searched will be shown with their relative values. Simply clicking any one of them will change the entire page to reflect that search term. Many times, A “Rising Related Term” will provide you with a better KW than the original search query.

The top related term to my original search term is “lose weight fast”, and clicking on that will change the entire page to reflect that search term.

The search term “How to lose weight” (shown in the above graph) clearly out performed the top “rising” search term shown in the graph below. However, using the rest of those related terms a time or two in your article, and including them in your SEO Tags on that article will improve your search results.

This is an excellent way to find the perfect focus keyword for the country or region that you want to target. It will also help you determine where an ad campaign can be most effective based solely upon the interest of that region.

5- Make sure the pictures you use have your keyword in the alternate text. (click on picture it will highlight blue, then click on tiny pic in upper left corner to open the edit image box. Put your keyword in the alternate text box and if you want this picture to take your visitor somewhere else by clicking it change the link url to the destination you want to send them to. Also the title is what will show up when someone hovers over the image. When Im sending someone somewhere else I put a call to action in there like “click here and get traffic travis now” for instance.

6- Do not use duplicate content! This can hurt you from making page 1 on search engines. If I feel I need to share some text from somewhere and I cant rewrite it in my own words I do not want Google to doc me so I take a screen shot or use snagit from techsmith.com and then put the pic of the text where I need it. Of course giving credit to whom I may have gotten it from.

7- Keyword appears in other headings if possible.

8- Article is at least 300 words or more. This should be easy especially if you are writing about something your interested in. it doesn’t take long to write 300 words.

9- key word shows in the <span style=”color: #222222;”><span style=”font-family: sans-serif;”><span style=”font-size: small;”>Meta Description</span></span></span>

A kewords tool will help you quickly find the keywords you should use so soon you can get free traffic from first page search engine rankings. Without using keywords correctly you have a very little chance of doing this.

Ok now what I was talking about earlier on how Empower network allows us to be Niche Open. This is almost magical! Because of this we can find unused keywords that get a ton of searches and build a post that harneses this Huge power of free traffic! Just think if you had just one page on your blog or website that on first page of google that was recieving 100,000 people to it a month. just think what that would do for you. 1 single page. Viral Marketing Rocks!! But how do you create articles that spread like a virus? The very term viral means something that spreads like a disease! Internet Marketers use viral marketing to describe what Social Media Creates. Traffic! So how does a virus spread?

Disease can spread from one person “sharing it” with another. It can be spread through simply breathing the air (word of mouth) in a room where someone “sharing” the disease (idea) is talking. But, it’s NOT just the contact. The person contacted must “be susceptible (interested) to the disease”, and the disease must be highly contagious.

Now the question becomes, “What makes a person susceptible to an article?” “How do we create highly contagious articles”, and “What can we do to help them spread like a virus?”

1. Extreme interest in any subject forces an individual to read every article they can find on that subject. That means the logical 1^st step to creating viral articles is in finding subjects that a lot of people are interested in.
2. Finding the best keyword associated with that subject is of paramount importance. Since key words are the words people use to look up everything they are interested in, then once you’ve found out what is of interest, you must use the best words that are searched frequently.
3. Instantly capturing attention from the start, and keeping it to the end, is a must! People share what grabs them and holds them through to the last word.
4. Incredible content is the key to holding interest! Creating unique, interesting, and valuable content on a subject that interests a large group of people will guarantee that it will be shared, and the larger the group the faster the article goes viral.
5. Promote, promote, promote! Producing and posting your article should take just 30 – 40% of the total time you spend on the article. 60 – 70% of your time should be spent promoting it for free (at least the free part is what I’m showing you).

Extreme Interest

The other day I was bored, and so I started playing a game that came with my computer, a Windows 7 software freebie. It’s Mahjong Titans, an electronic Mahjong Solitaire version of the ancient Chinese game called Mahjong.

The problem I soon ran into was the fact that I had no idea how the game scored, or even how the different Tiles that are used in the game were valued. So, I did a Google search, and to my surprise I couldn’t find anything that gave me an in depth explanation of the scoring for the game.

That is when the light bulb lit up on BRIGHT!

Time to do some research!

Windows 7 managed to sell 240 million copies by the time it was a year old. On September 13th, 2011Microsoft announced that, since its launch in October 09′, 450 million Windows 7 copies had been sold. But they hadn’t bother to provide a good set of rules to the Mahjong Titans game.

That’s 450 million people who have the Mahjong Titans game & are trying to play without proper instructions. That means a good number of them are searching for instructions, just like I was.

Now, I’m getting excited! In my google search I had found an Ask.com question from a lady asking if anyone knew how the game was scored. No one was able to tell her. Time to solve the problem!

That is when I determined to find out for myself exactly how it works, and to publish instructions for the game. THINK ABOUT IT! 450 million people! And it’s a game that I’m doing research on! How hard can that be? It was a lot of fun!

This is a very good example of A High Volume – Extreme Interest Subject!

I found it by accident, Right?

You could say that, but the fact that I’m always looking for Extreme Interest Subjects for Viral Marketing made it impossible to miss. Once you begin to recognize them, they will begin to hit you square in the face on a regular basis. Let’s take a look at how this played out.

Finding The Best Keywords

In this case, finding the best keyword (KW) was easy. I started with the name of the game, (no brainer) and searched it using my Traffic Travis KW tool. It quickly showed me that “Mahjong Solitaire” got more searches than “Mahjong Titans” did.

You can see (in the dark blue box below) that I actually searched the name of the Microsoft version of the game, but (in the green box) the single KW “Mahjong” gets 820,000 searches per month (S/M), and that the competition is Low at only 3%! Sweet Deal!

I only concern myself with the “U.S. Count” (in the yellow box), but any global searches that end up at my site are certainly welcomed. It is also important to Viral Marketing that we don’t ignore other KW’s that are searched! We should use them ALL somewhere in our article, so that we can include them in the SEO TAGS section. (More on that in a minute.)

You can see (in the pink box) that “Mahjong Solitaire” gets 22,200 S/M (low competition 13%), and “Mahjong Titans” (Lt. Blue Box) gets 14,800 S/M (low competition 19%).

Here’s What’s Interesting About This KW Search!

It is very rare that you find the competition lower on the KW’s that are searched the most for any given subject! Take advantage of that whenever you find it. Part of this presentation explains why I don’t depend upon search engine page rank (PR) to get my traffic.

The main reason is that it just takes too long, and it takes too much work to rank high in the search engines. I don’t have that much time! This is the newest of all my sites & I want traffic NOW! If I had to wait for my Google PR to rank me high enough to make the front page (based upon most of my KW’s) I’d go broke!

Instead, I focus all my efforts on getting free traffic as fast as I can, (to each article) and that’s why my focus is on creating articles that go viral! When the search engines see that my site is getting loads of traffic they will raise my rank automatically. That’s why PR doesn’t concern me.

Instantly Capture Attention

There are many ways to capture attention and hold it.

1. The title, must be descriptive and on topic. It must grab the interest or the article won’t get opened to begin with. If you aren’t interested in Viral Marketing, or if you don’t know what it is, you most likely will never read this article.

2. Pictures capture the eye, and that captures the readers attention. Using screen shots to illustrate a point continues to keep that interest. Check out THIS ARTICLE about Guerrilla Marketing & Social Media. It’s all about the “SHOCK VALUE” photography can have to capture a readers attention.

3. Bold Statements instantly grab your attention. Either you are wondering why the statement was made, or are wanting to know what is meant by it. In either case, it got your attention.

4. Ask Questions. Questions force the mind to focus on the subject. Using questions frequently throughout your articles forces the reader to constantly re-focus on the subject. Questions are an excellent subliminal way to create interest in the information that’s inside the article, causing the reader to want to continue on to find the answer.

5. Tasteful Highlights. Using bold, italicized, & colored text (tastefully) does two things. First, it allows you to draw the eye to important points that you want to be certain are not skipped over.

   Highlights also allow the reader to quickly find points of interest and speed read an article. Use them to aid in navigating the article. It makes the article more appealing to the readers eye. Many readers are lost simply because the article doesn’t have “eye appeal”.

6. Tell stories. If you can give the same boring facts in story form your chances of keeping the readers interest are much greater. The story I’m telling you right now happens to be true, but it is the story of how the life of a viral article was conceived, developed and grew!

As you can see above, I quickly found out what GAME FORUMS will ban you for linking to any article that has “outbound links” to a landing/squeeze page of any kind.

BUT, If I hadn’t kept these records and gone back to check results, I’d have no clue what happened. I’d also be thinking that my job on this article was complete, not knowing that most of the links I’d placed were cancelled.

You will also get banned from the Doc Site Slideshare.com for the same reason, but Scribd.com has no problem with it. My opinion on getting banned can be summed up by the following quote.

“You’ll always miss one hundred percent of the shots you do not take.” – Wayne Gretzky

I ended up with three forums out of 11 that didn’t care. I’ll have that record right here on this page if I ever decide to do something involving another electronic game!

Summary:

The article got 500 page impressions in the first 14 days. Keep in mind that it’s on a brand new site with a ZERO Page Rank. However, Webmaster lumps together ALL impressions, so you need to check your Google Anylitics to see the actual unique visits to that article. (I show that below the graphs)

Just look at what happened to the gray line all of a sudden after 12 days! Suddenly, readers on the Doc Sites, where I “re-purpose posted” the article, discovered it! It was over the weekend, so I suppose it had something to do with having a little free time.

Above is a shot of one of the many items that Google Analytics gives us for free. On the left is the extension URL for the article, next is Total page views (including revisits from the same user), next is the unique visits, and those are what matters.

Think about it!

In just 14 days I got 74 UNIQUE VIEWS on one article, on a brand new website that has ZERO page rank! I wonder how many more I’ll get for that article during the next 50 weeks this year.

Bounce Rate: What I love about that statistic is that it shows 75% of the visitors left the page without clicking on my add, & that means that 25% did click through on my ad link! That’s 18 new potential customers, in just two weeks, from just one article.

Posting unique articles and promoting them in this manner will bringing free traffic to ANY website. It’s up to you to sell them on whatever it is you are promoting but at least they came to take a look.

Now, look what happens when you produced just three articles a week that get the same response!

3 articles X 50 weeks = 150 articles…

150 articles X 18 clicks on your add = 2,700 potential customers.

If this continues throughout the year this article will have 1,911 unique visits logging 135 hrs on my site! Not bad for just one article, but now I need two or three hundred more doing the same thing!

Now look at what happened on the two Document Sites that I posted the Mahjong article.

In under 2 weeks the article was read exactly 500 times. How many of those people followed the link to my website? Made the “Popular” front page of Slideshare.net “How To” Category 8/15/13.

You may also be interested in what this very article you are reading has done in less than a week.

Published 8/8/13, (screen shot ends 8/14) the stats show 6 days progress. This shows 48 total visits with 26 of them unique (4.3 UV/Day). That means people are coming back to see how well the article is progressing.

I have done absolutely no Promo work in Forums or Q&A sites as yet, and so ths is just after completing the first part of that same check list that I used on the Mahjong Titans article above.

Now it’s time to go answer some questions about Mahjong Titans on Q&A sites and link back to the article. We’ll see how that affects the averages.

Adding three more links from Q&A sites & that may be what brought me those 10 Unique Visitors yesterday.

8/19 – 8/28/13, saw an increase of 36 UV in 9 days. (4/day) so we are still averaging better than 1400/year on the article.

The Easy, comes AFTER you get it all set up, but the lessons we share are what makes the set up so easy. After that, every blog, video, photo library you want to share, and any other kinds of documents will be funneled into your money making machine and the Traffic Will Descend upon your blog like magic.

But it’s not magic, it takes a couple of hours for you to set up all the Free Tools, so lets get started.

FIRST, I am going to assume…

That you know all about how Google’s last two major algorithm changes (Panda & Penguin), adversely affected the page rank on millions of websites. When that happened most of those sites saw a substantial crash, a sudden traffic jam if you will.

Well, if ranking on Google was where you were going after your traffic, it’s time to take a better rout! Go direct! I call them “private search engines”. Google forced us to become more creative, and whenever that happens WE get better.

An often overlooked way to share documents is through Document Storage Sites.

The meat of this post is the listing and review of all FREE Document Storage Sites. Since they are not all created equal, I have listed them, from the top down based on the Alexa Global Traffic Rank, and included some details about each.

REMEMBER… this is all about how you Increase Blog Traffic, not page rank, and some of you may be shocked at why PR doesn’t matter. Oh, it’s nice to have, just unnecessary for generating free traffic.

The top “store and share” document sites have millions of daily visitors!

They are their own search engine, with millions of daily searches! Why wouldn’t you want your content put there for free? Well, you have to take the time to set up an account.

Setting up the accounts (set up at least 3 – 5) is the easy part once you’ve found the best ones for you that fit what you want to do. (Lot’s of options out there!) I hope the reviews below help a lot.

Warning: Watch carefully. There are warning flags about things that are positives or negatives to me, like a site purging your files if they aren’t downloaded often enough! On the other hand, would you like the maid service that cleans out your inactive posts from that list?

EXAMPLE: The site below is at the top of my personal list. Handling a Billion transactions per month why NOT be listed there for free! Even better than that, they don’t dump your files!*

The descriptions, for the most part, on what the sites have to offer are directly from that web-site’s “About, terms, and policy” pages. I have simply edited, & added my thoughts here and there.

No wonder I want to be there. You will find after using several of these sites, that they are tools in your tool shed for generating traffic to your website. You’ll find some who are easier to work with than others.

The Steps: “Just thinking out loud here.”

1. Create some high quality content & post it.
2. Like it, tweet it, & link it in, etc.
3. Turn it into a pdf @ http://www.zinepal.com/ (or simply post it “as is” to sites that accept “All” formats. Sites can vary greatly on what they accept.)
4. Now post the Doc/pdf/video etc. at everyone of the Doc sites you are using.

Those are the first steps in the traffic sniper approach. It is to focus on all of the fast, free methods to promote your blog posts.

Now, isn’t some one going to raise your had and point out to me that I’m posting duplicate content? Google doesn’t see it that way since they expect to see redundant files in pdf/etc. on storage sites all the time! After all, they are storage sites.

The point is, that this source of traffic is internal to it’s self , with it’s own search engine, so I’m not dependent upon PR at all. I will promote each document individually.

Now what you do is focus your efforts on getting the absolute max traffic you can out of the different Doc Sites you use. THAT’S where setting up the site becomes the work. Learning the uniqueness of each site will help you get the most out of them.

The sites with NO SEARCH are simply store and share sites that you can send people to download your stuff from. They are useful, but don’t give you the best platform to increase blog traffic.

Some sites offer things that can save you time. You can select in the setup for them to automatically upload your new posts from any URL of any of your sites. How much time would that save you each week? (Continued after this brief commercial! ;o)

It is a lot easier for me to simply use my OpenOffice.org Writer program that I got FREE from The Apache Software Foundation. I can then upload it directly from my computer to any Doc site I’m using.

Keep in mind, when signing up for an account with Zine Pal, that your user name will show up as the heading of your listings (“books”), so be sure to use the one you want on there. The problem with that is all of your documents and files you upload end up in that same book.

Creating individual pdfs don’t enter them into that book.

NOTE: Your document must ALREADY be in PDF format to add it as a pdf to most of the sites in this list. Most of these sites accept a variety of formats, and some include video.

When viewing the list below, and the associated Alexa global traffic rank, keep in mind that there are about 649 million websites in the world today. Of those, there are only about 187 million active sites.

Keep in mind that to have a site ranked in the top 1oo,ooo (of the 649 million) by Alexa means that they are getting excellent traffic. Also, the number of sites linking to that site shows how much respect the site has gotten from around the web.
