Here is Daisy Buchanan. The love and life of Mr Gatsby! She has been lured into a life surrounded by materials, won over by power and wealth. And even displays her baby as just another thing in her life. Here i show her to be surrounded by luxury yet hidden behind her is a place she once belonged. The gray ashes of normalcy, a world not about money. She covers her face because she knows she lives a life that has always been a lie.

What could I say that the title hasn't told you yet? My current project is inspired entirely, wholeheartedly by one of my most favorite books of all; THE GREAT GATSBY by F.Scott Fitzgerald. No, I am not all about reading fiction books of witches and demons and vampires.... :) My heart does belong in the classics.. sorry to disappoint you.

Daisy (unfinished)

When was the last time i read this? hmmmmm about 13 years ago! wow! i feel so old.. At that time, we had to read it, we were forced to read it for our exams.. but little by little I grew up and everything in that book fell into place and fell in to my reality.
The Great Gatsby, a man literally of a few words yet spoken by everyone in millions, in different languages, in different countries. What made him so great? In my painting, I answer that one question. He could be a king, he could be a hero and he could be just a homeless guy with big dreams and the real soul of a man we rarely come across. I believe he was all these men... He was great for his love for a woman that lasted until the day he died.
It is a sad story but also a very real one. There is the poor, the rich, the lost, the pathfinder, the corruption, the cheaters, the lovers, the hope and the humble..
I have said enough... JUST GO READ THE BOOK...

"NOT DELICATE"

I don't know why but this new one that i haven't yet finished has completely taken over my heart. Maybe she resembles me in every way.. and i am somehow jealous of her, being in there and i'm in here... Anyway, i am so excited about this painting that i will call "NOT DELICATE" don't know why, that i had to share it right away. so with dried paints on my hands i write this post and introduce you to ME.

note: this painting is in the process of completion.

"TRAPPED"

Recently, i have been busy painting for a gallery, i will not yet mention the name, but i am terribly trembling with excitement about my first ever solo exhibition. i'm not too sure if i should upload all my new ten works here just yet. but i'll tell you this, it's mindblowing! I have already taken them to the gallery to be documented, and when i saw them all against the wall on the floor for the first time, if i didn;t know better i knew i would have knelt down and cried. All my problems, my moments of ups and downs, my memories, my laughters, my tears and sweat were all there revealed naked. And soon, everyone will see. All ten of them felt like one all shouting back the flashbacks of everything that i have been going through.
If not for all the wounds that i have in my heart, if not for the happiness i have won and lost i wouldn't have been able to create these paintings.
We wouldn't know how to love if we didn't know how to hate. We wouldn't know what silence was if there weren't any noise.. now where did i hear that from? i don't rememer anymore.
i hope and pray that my exhibition will be a successful one and most of all, i hope everyone will like me for who i decided to be, which is me and not what people wanted me to be.
i sometimes am sorry that i happen to be so different. and i hope my husband will forgive that i am not and cannot be an ideal wife. but i do try, and i know i try too hard.
these series will be for him.
I think i'll name my exhibition "Hiding as still as a Tree on a windless day"... hmmm.. maybe too long.

Do we really look alike??

So when i was still in Byron, my art teacher told me about a famous painter , Gauguin. She believed he was inlove with this tahitian woman that he always painted.
She said she looked like me.. .And since then, i have always look up at paintings with deeper meanings, with deeper emotions, with true feelings. And when the story of a painting moves you, to me, that's when it becomes REALISTIC...

So this is me... do we look a like? Hmm... i guess, i dont mind if i do.

i'm trying so hard to get to the finish line when i think that maybe i'm just right where i should be.
this is my art. i love it, i love all of them,
this is me.
i don't think it will ever change, ideas might grow bigger, colours might change, but i'll simply be me. just the same.

Right now i have a couple of paintings displayed in a gallery..
and i am seriously proud of that.
