I finally added the tin ceiling I’ve been longing for in my country kitchen! It’s amazing how much better this looks than the old, dingy popcorn ceiling. The ceiling appears even taller, and the light reflection is cool. Thanks, Zack and Jacob for your great work!

“My Favorite Cowboy”

My dad was always a lover of horses. Even though he’s gone on to heaven now, I still have his beautiful tooled-leather saddle. When I was a kid and we lived on a farm in Oklahoma, one night a terrible tornado hit close to us. On this same night, my dad’s mare had a baby colt. My dad named his new colt “Twister.”‘

My dad worked on a ranch in Montana when he was young. He would’ve fit so well there–even around the campfire at night. I can picture him playing his harmonica, or getting out his guitar and singing “Home On the Range” and “Get Along, Little Doggies.” He would’ve been in his element, since he always loved nature and sleeping under the stars.

Spring is new beginnings. Flowers suddenly come to life in vivid colors, trees unfold their leaves, and the brightness of nature shines out. Spring is a wonderful time to start a new novel. Inspiration is all around me. So I begin romance novel number four, set in my beautiful home state of Arkansas. The Civil War is over. Kace is shot and wounded as he nears home from battle. Sonnet finds him on her father’s ranch. Should she hide him and nurse him back to health?

ANOTHER BLESSINGS FARM WRITER

I’m not the only writer at Blessings Farm. My son Landon writes short stories. He’s prolific, filling up notebooks with stories–sometimes humorous, other times shrouded in mystery. His settings are in nature, with the owl calling in the night, or an eagle flying overhead.
