There's just no other way for it to 'just happen'.

Scoff all you want, but you'll never find yourself falling into love someone just because they brought back your heel from that dance last night. Prince charming is just part of a fairy tale...

That's not to say he's fictional. This guy can certainly just waltz his way into your life without warning, yet you may not even realize he already exists in your life (for those who can't seem to think outside this fairy tale box)! This same scenario goes for guys and gays, but they don't have a Disney reference yet (wink).

This concept applies to everyone.

True love is not a feeling of mere lust, like most individuals seem to assume... Yeah, you are attracted to an individual physically, but this person's intellect is what REALLY connects you both indefinitely... And how do you get to understand someone else's intellect? Only by communication -- which, by the way, can only be performed through the essence of time...

What I'm basically saying is that you need to spend time with someone in order to see if they're intellectually compatible with you. It's just like how you make a new friend. Seriously, think about it... This is how we make friends with people, by sharing our thoughts!

True love is based off a friendship because this type of [friendship] relationship is built off trust and communication. If you make a keen observation at all of your close friendships, there is a certain level of trust that you have with every person individually. Some levels are low, and other levels of trust can soar into places so far that you would entrust this individual with your life and never pass any doubt over this decision because he/she is so close to you.

This is true love!

Yes, I just said true love exists with your very closest friends and family. However, there is a fine line between your relationship to an individual mentally and physically versus your relationship with a friend or family... This feeling of true love is you wanting to spend the rest of your life and almost every waking moment joined with this person for eternity. But how do you get to that stage in the relationship?

There's no step-by-step process. It's all seemingly random, yet things fall into place when you are with this person and those random events seem sensible when this person is present in your life. Although true love is something every human can certainly relate to (whether that may be positively or negatively), this is still an incredibly difficult concept to accurately define without having some sort of predisposition or bias. Think about it... Everything you know right now is based off experience. You only know what you have seen, said, and done. Then, when faced with something totally new, you have to recap on what you already know in order to accommodate. You evolve with experience, and EVERY individual goes through this. The overall essence of true love really just dwindles down to people and their chemistry... What does that mean?

Well, let's give an example for the young teens out there... Pretend you are one color (blue), and your 'bestest friend' in the whole wide world is a similar, but different color (baby blue). You are both two people, individual and separate personalities at best, but your colors mesh well when outlined on paper (your interaction and bonding time). It's not a surprise, since you are both so close to each other on the color wheel. Even if you meet someone who exists on the opposing side of the color spectrum (orange), that does not take away from the possibility of forming a bond between you two! To the contrary, as you are ALL in the same color wheel.

Sure, their color is a little different from yours, but why should that stop you if YOU are the one with the bright aura? Grey isn't that bad, folks. That is a mindset. You can be whatever color you want, it makes no difference when it comes to chemistry. Are you offended because I am referring to skin color, or did you not catch my drift? The truth of the matter is that you are constantly forced to consider skin color since it is the first thing you notice... But why should you reject someone solely based on that? Why not focus on their culture, their heritage, their intelligence? The only time your brain and body truly consider mixing some colors is when reproduction is underway... And if you're just starting out, why does that matter to you? Let me rephrase: If you are together and trying this out, how is your color going to affect the relationship? Race and skin color does not affect a relationship, only your brain does.

Now, let's give a second example that fits a little better for the adults of the audience... People are like alcoholic beverages. Yeah, you can understand that, right? Some are sweet and fruity, and totally nice to the taste. Others slide down the throat, burning at your tissue and it STILL feels good. Not all alcohol will sit well with you, though. Ain't that the truth?!

Having that all of that said and put aside, true love can be defined as someone having an unconditional, unwavering, and selfless admiration towards another human being. The moment we meet a stranger, we immediately begin to calculate. We observe, identify, and analyze the obvious and physical aspects of the stranger within a matter of seconds. Instinct, our body's reaction to meeting this stranger, is what determines our compatibility. The vibe - the instinct - that we get from this stranger could be anything from sexual arousal to immediate disgust. Most people nonchalantly disregard this nondescript vibe and continue on with their lives simply because it is a first encounter; and, frankly, what significance does a first encounter have, right? It shouldn't mean anything. But there is a reason as to why we care about who we meet; we care about the first encounter with this individual before we even get to know the person. There is a factor of life that everyone wants, that everyone longs for, but not everyone has it. This factor of life is one that everybody wants to have all for themselves... It is a factor that is life-changing, and that factor is called love.

True love, to be exact.

It's an undoubtedly selfish feeling - the desire to be loved. Everyone wants it, but not everyone has it - and the reason being as to why not everyone has love in their life is simply because not everyone is ready for it. There are plenty of "reasons" as to why someone is not ready to have true love stride right onto their doorstep and tap a soft but hearty knock out of the blue. Interesting story to read in which I have found on this website. It is a quick discussion, between Professor and student in classroom setting, where they put out a test of science versus religion and faith. I am not a religious person, but found this excerpt to be interesting in its philosophical attributes. Enjoy!

Professor : You are a Christian, aren’t you, son?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, you believe in GOD?

Student : Absolutely, sir.

Professor : Is GOD good?

Student : Sure.

Professor: Is GOD all powerful?

Student : Yes.

Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn’t. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent.)

Professor: You can’t answer, can you ? Let’s start again, young fella. Is GOD good?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Is satan good ?

Student : No.

Professor: Where does satan come from ?

Student : From … GOD …

Professor: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student : Yes.

Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?

Student : Yes.

Professor: So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer.)

Professor: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, who created them ?

(Student had no answer.)

Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD?

Student : No, sir.

Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?

Student : No , sir.

Professor: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.

Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student : Yes.

Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.

Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Professor: Yes.

Student : And is there such a thing as cold?

Professor: Yes.

Student : No, sir. There isn’t.

(The lecture theater became very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theater.)

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?

Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it is, well you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?

Professor: So what is the point you are making, young man ?

Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Professor: Flawed ? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.

Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor. Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar.)

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?

(The class broke out into laughter. )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Professor: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.

Student : That is it sir … Exactly ! The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.

Dear Teenage Self...

Dear Teenage Self,

Don't stop reading. Don't stop listening. Don't stop learning. Do NOT stop your life for someone ELSE! You were born to lead, and you were born STRONG. You are here for YOU, and only YOU can pull yourself along!

Sex will come in time, you don't even have to worry. There is no rush for it, you don't have to hurry. It's not all it's cracked up to be, and you'll learn that in a few years. You are - and always will be - beautiful, whether you are covered in dirt or drenched in your own tears. Your life will always have meaning as long as you believe in yourself. And when you do lose yourself, seek help. Don't bottle everything in...

Speaking of which, I can give you an analogy: Like a soda bottle, you can be bought - warm or cold. You dress to impress, and crave to be brought home. But when you are fed up with the world shaking around you, and you fizz to the brim, sometimes you topple over, and other times you sink back in. Even when someone blows your top, you should always keep your cool. You shouldn't let the other soda drinks beat you in, or out, of vending school; it will NEVER EVER matter what the others say to you, because YOU are the ONLY one who can stand in YOUR way. And, by the way, there's no need for drama. Keep your droplets to yourself because no one has to see. You are here for you. And, today, I am here for me.

I am you in another life... Yes, another life. You, too, will soon grow old and you, too, will soon die. So, yes, I agree; you should live your life to the fullest. Yes, you should strive to struggle through it. And, yes, you should always follow your heart... But don't be stupid and naive enough to stoop so low that you end up right back to the start. You have a brain, and you must use it. You were born with logic, so don't go off to abuse it. You are what you say, what you eat, and what you dress like, and you can become so much more than this by leading an ever-honest life. Be the light at the end of your own tunnel, and see to it that YOU are your ONE and ONLY possibility for change in YOUR own world. No one else can live this life for you. So, if you'd like to see a change, then follow it through.

I hope you can understand the very real truth behind these words, and I hope they can help you get better. Remember that you are young, and you have hormones, and that I am writing from experience in this letter: Be the absolute best that you can be, because no one will ever have the strength to stop you from accomplishing your dreams. And, please, listen to your mother's words, and stop taking them for granted! She won't be alive for much longer, so my advice to you, my dear, is that you should take advantage.

Maybe when you are older, you will better understand... Until then, I want you to know that you are ALL that I am.
