Hey guys! For this manicure I used DAZZLE by Orly as my base color. Then, for the accent nail i used BROKEN HEARTED from China Glaze's new crackle collection, and BLACK MESH on the rest of the nails. Makeup inspired by Alice in Wonderland

One of our favorite books this year is Camille Rose Garcia’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. So when we saw the video tutorial below–posted on YouTube by Haleybean–we were super excited. We asked Haleybean to tell us more about why she chose to create this makeup tutorial inspired by Camille’s incredible artwork.

I recently did this make-up tutorial based off the cover art that artist Camille Rose Garcia did for a rendition of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. To start with, Alice is my all-time favorite piece of literature so I’m always on the prowl for different ways people find to interpret the Alice stories. I was in a bookstore one day and saw Camille’s work and fell in love with it immediately. She presents Alice in a way that is so new and original it’s ridiculous. She holds true to the story while bringing in her own fresh new take on it.

I started google-ing more of her art and I really enjoy her work. I regularly do my make-up tutorials on YouTube, I have been doing so for the past 2 1/2 years or so and I get most of my inspiration from artwork and movie characters alike; I automatically pulled inspiration from Camille because it has all elements I love and presented me with the challenge to take in her interpretation and do something completely different to add that Haleybean twist to it.

I painted my nails using the "Last Friday Night" and Shattered from the Katy Perry Collection by O.P.I. The blue by itself is pretty pale the picture below is three coats. It would be pretty over something but by itself its pretty but subtle.
I used the shattered using horizontal strokes opposed to vertical ones, makes a slight bit different but not noticeable. Hope you guys like the info!

I bought a few nail polishes recently, including shattered from katy perry by opi and that was a mission in itself! See my Ditlo97 to see. I found it at my Jc Penny's Salon. pfft i know who knew, right? The color swatched is lighthouse from China Glaze's new Anchors Away collections. GORGEOUS its my favorite. I also have Teenage Dream from opi on my accent nails which made it look like Rose Gold Glitter polish. Still not sure how i feel about it. The other photos are the shattered on top of the same nails shown in the picture with lighthouse/teenage dream. The orange color showed in the collective picture is "CHOP-Sticking to my story" by Opi from Hong Kong collection. I was going to get Life Preserver from the Anchors Away collections by China Glaze but it was too creamy and coral-y looking to me. I liked the opi orange better.

Some new colors I have accumulated the last few weeks.This is China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint and its a little too light for what I was looking for. GIVEAWAY PILE.
This is OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui from the Hong Kong collection. Havent wore it yet but Im learning I love mid-tone solids.
China Glaze's Sexy in The City. . You can't really tell how friggin metallicy this really is, but it comes across as a Tween color for some reason to me lol. GIVEAWAY PILE
This is OPI Funky Dunky from the Shrek Collection, I think its a nice purple to get my high end collection started.
This is Orlu's Space Cadet from the Cosmic FX collection which came out a few months ago, but it was always sold out bc it was a dupe for one of this past falls Venomous Villains Nail Polishes. So i quickly snatched it up and its currently brillianty glistening on my toes lol.
This is OPIs Yoga-Ta get this Blue. Its similar to China Glaze's Little Drummer Boy from the holiday collection but it has a bit more green shimmer to it. . . havent used it yet so we will see.
I am kind of addicted to collecting more High End nailpolish than anything nowadays lol. I blame Brooke-Lynn. It so fun though I paint my nails at least 3 times a week. I am doing a failed or nailed on Garnier Nutrioniste Skin Renew The Brusher Gel-Cleanser this time folks. Ok lets start with

The PROS:

It smells WONDERFUL!

The brusher head really does create a create way to exfoliate leaving your face feel super clean and refreshed.

It doesnt leave any type of funky residue behind.

The CONS:

Holy DRIES MY FACE OUT batman! This product is soo drying on my face i was mosturizing it twice a day. It's pretty bad. Now a disclaimer, I have normal skin so this really shouldnt be drying on my skin at all. It really is a great product it just doesnt work with my skin.

Oily-EXCELLENT
Dry to normal BEWARE
Combination-CAUTION

Total Lunar Eclipse

So I fell into the hype. It took me almost the entire eclipse to find the right combination of settings with my kodak point and shoot camera to get halfway decent photos. They aren't THE BEST but I am kind of proud of them!

Un-godly amount of Nail Polish

Hello folks so these are nail polishes I got today from Ulta as seen in my Ditlo. Im warning you now i was kind of in a hurry to get these swatches done so the paint jobs are done sloppily and i apologize in advance lol.

Of course the little teasers mini opi's from the burlesque collection.
this is the bring on the tinsel by Nicole that i found in place of party hearty by china glaze EVEN THOUGH i think i still need party hearty.
this is the coney island cotton candy that i lucked out in finding
bring on the bling from opi's burlesque collection as well
this is a swatch of Ali's Big Break which was the main color i wanted from burlesque. Its a nice vintage-y red with red sparkle. love its.
this is rising star. its a very like burnt gold type color very pretty.
take the stage is a warm fall leaf color that is also pretty
The show must go on is similar to Ali's Big Break except the color is more magenta and not so much red
This is bring on the bling after 2 coats NO BASE
bring on the tinsel after two coats no base
bring on the tinsel ontop of ali's big break
bring on the tinsel on top of a flat white base. this reminds me of a sugar cookie ALOT
bring on the tinsel on a black base

this nail got really messed up i kept hittin it on things on accident but this is bring on the tinsel on top of its not rocket science from the orly cosmic fx collection.

my final color i went with opi coney island cotton candy bc i feel i can get away with this color at work for sure!

Failed or Nailed #5

Failed or Nailed this time goes to the Just Bitten line of lipstains by Revlon.

What drew me to this product is i love the idea of a lip stain but the fact it came with a lip balm instantly attracted me bc lip stains do tend to be drying. I chose the two reddest shades because i really love doing a red lip but hate having to be so conscientious of it because the slightest smudge can make it look like you have a blister or something. its gross. All in all once applied, this product stays PUT. its def a long wear type of product so its not going to fade over the night. it wonderful! I actually put the product on and fell asleep on accident and the color was still just as vibrant. just some lip balm i needed to reapply for shine but pigmentation is AWESOME. this product def deserved a NAILED stamp of approval.

Flame is on top and Gothic is on bottom. These are both swatched in natural lighting and with no primer or lip balm on top. Straight from tube. raw. unedited. unplugged lol.

Hey folks!! I had alot of people asking me how I was going about doing my Girly Mad Hatter Costume because I was putting one together myself because I HATE the color schemes of the premade ones and they are a little to risque for me.these shoes are black mary jane style heels i got at journeys a few months ago for 20 bucks and i plan on either getting the green circle stickers or just use crayola gel markers to create the spot and the purple stripes on the heels.
after MUCH searching (hot topic, and halloween stores) i had given up on my little hat mission. they had a legit mad hatter one at spencers form tim burtons ALICE but it was 20 bucks and i didnt want to spend that on a friggin hat. which is why i came up with the hair idea. HOWEVER, i went into a stand alone claire's and scored this beauty on sale! I just added green ribbon to it so it will tie in better with my color scheme.
these gloves i just happened to stumble across at the stand alone claires as well. on clearance fo rlike 5 something so i snagged em up!
these tights i bought the day the halloween express stores opened up just to have bc i like obscure clothes like this. these were like 7.99 i believe
this is the actual clothes ill be wearing. my mom found the skirt at goodwill last year to be like a cyndi lauper style 80's girl. i already had the purple tank from aeropostale i think a few years back. I got the green plaid shirt from kohls. check my back to school blog post for info on that! i plan on gettin some thread spools and making a choker out of them somehow ill def post pictures if i get that pulled off!

Hey folks!!
SO I broke down and even though I know I'm saving for Venomous Villains I spent money at the MAC counter anyways. I have been eyeing going bananas and alot of people have been having regrets they didnt get it before when it came out with C-shock. It recently came out with Dare to Wear so I picked it up. I have been on an orange/blue/yellow binge anyway. Needless to say I am a little disappointed with color payoff, not as SHOCKING as I had expected but it is a pretty wearable yellow. SWatches are below. Wet is on the right and dry swatches are on the left. This was in natural lighting no flash.

SO as you can see its pretty sheered compared to the others. The closest dupe I have is HIP Flamboyant, however the HIP has more of a metallic finish whereas the MAC going bananas is a frost so its pretty flat. I hope this helps anyone with Yellow E/S Suggestions if you like the GDE Electric Lemonade, you can order that here!

I got a Big Girl Purse!

Yay! SO as some of you know, I have been talking about getting a big purse to "carry my life in" I just really have been wanting that big bag for myself. I have been carrying my alice one since the spring and its getting a beating this semester because I am so busy running all of the Charleston metro area lol. So I stopped at Target. Mind you guys, I am not picky when it comes brands of clothes and hangbags. I have my own tastes and standards and whatever brand caters to that is fine with me. I foudn this like oversized green hobo style bag with a zebra print lining.

I really like it. Its a Gia Milani bag, if that tells you anything. It was 24.99 and has excellant storage which is another thing I was really wanting. It has two side pockets that a bottled drink could fit easily. I use them for keys on one side so i don't have to dig for them and my phone on the other. The inside has a zipper pocket and two just side pockets. All in all I think it was a good choice I love it so far, it definitely a more mature approach for me and isn't struggling to hold all my stuff I need. I don't love or hate zebra prints but they just seem to be finding me lol. Does anyone else run into that?

Todays FAILED OR NAILED are the concealer twins in yellow and light. I LOVE this product. I use both ends daily. I use the yellow for under eye circle and the light for an eyelid color corrector and eyeshadow primer. This product I feel you could use completely on its own with no further foundation or even powder to set it. I have done that a few times. Its hard for me to find a concealer that gives me great coverage but doesn't get all nasty and settle into the wrinkles under my eyes when I am sleepy. I highly recommend this product if anyone is looking for a new drugstore concealer. I haven't used the green one for redness but if anyone else has please leave it in the comments!

Back 2 School Loot!

Hi guys! So normally I am not about sharing what I bought as far as clothes go, but I figured a back to school post would be ok lol. Everything besides the backpack I purchase from Kohl's during their tax free weekend we had here in Charleston.First, I got a new backpack. Mine from last semster was ENTIRELY too big and made me look like a ninja turtle according to my dad. I just looked like a total dork when I carried it because I am so small. I ended up using a hardcore messenger bag that was made primarily for a laptop. That crap hurt my shoulder so bad! I saw this one at JC Penny's and fell in love instantly. It was the last one (of course) so it was now or never. It was 33% off and I had a 10 dollar off coupon so this beauty only cost me 10 bucks.
I saw these earring while supposed to be searching for new school clothes and I like them because of the Fleur-de-Lis as well as the wings. I have been wanting a pair of dangly type earrings so these were perfect. They were on sale at Kohl's and I got them for 9.38 originally 14.00! Yay for sales.
I am a Soffe short ADDICT ok I wear these things year round. I have them in every solid color imaginable I even have black ones with white stars lol. They had the same pattern in yellow and teal as well. My sister got those two and we wear the same size so it works out. These were about 5 bucks.

This thing. . .is it just me or does it totally scream BELLA from Twilight? I saw it and actually didnt get it the first time and came back two days later and purchased it. Its actually a more earthy green than showed in the picture but oh well. This was on sale for 19.99 orig. 30.00
I love these A-line knee length flowy skirts. This is my fourth one. They are so damn comfortable! I know these kinda went out of style but I DO NOT CARE. I heart them so much and my boyfriend says I look pretty in them so they are sticking around lol.
This cami is soo cute. It has the built in bra in it but it actually has underwire and not just a crappy elastic band that just smashes things down, giving you a "uni-boob" for us top heavy girls. Very nice.
I LOVE black flares. Uniform kind with pockets on the inside and stuff. I had a few I used to have to wear for Cracker Barrel and they were Dickey's Girl black flares and I wore them all the time even not for work. When I find a pair that aren't too long or too short I snatch them up right away. My Dickey's had to go in the garbage after nice crotch holes appeared after 3 years of wearing them to work 5 days a week walking alot lol.

I got one of these little vest flowy things made out of light t-shirt material. They seem very Kristen Stewart-esque to me so I know they'd look good on me lol. I don't think we look alike but we do have alot of the same features (hair color, eyes, skin tone) so basically if it looks good on her, I know I most likely can pull it off, and might I say I LOVE THIS THING. I need a couple more in different colors because adding this to any t-shirt dresses up an outfit instantly. I dont like to dress up at all not even casual work clothes but adding this is a painless way for me to do that. I highly recommend checking these things out. I think this was about 15 bucks after the sale price was applied.
