Underground School’s Issue 3 is OUT!!!

Now, that I got my very own hard copy of this fine doodle-friendly publication, I can freely shout from the rooftops of all the doodling communities: IT IS SOOOOOOO COOOOL!!! Super-talented artist herself, Racheal Anilyse, created this incredible treasure box, an eye candy of epic proportions. I couldn’t put the damn thing down whole day until I was absolutely sure I read every article, studied every little detail in the design, and naturally covered the whole thing in very appropriate food/coffee stains (from being handled roughly @ the family dining table ;)) Everything about it, the layout, the interviews, the guest artists, the whole feel of the Underground Art School’s Magazine Sketchbook Issue, just sings to me, and it will to you too! Go, see the preview, buy a copy and enjoy!
Oh, btw, one of the Doodle for Love contest winners’ artwork is in it, as promised. And I did a whole spread featuring some of the greatest Post-Its artists of our times (this just sounds grand, doesn’t it? :)). This Mag is a MUST HAVE for anybody who has even the slightest affection for the art of Doodling and Sketching, and I know for sure, that if you’re reading this, you’re more like ~~addicts~~ high-end connoisseurs So, what are you waiting for? Doodle-Off Update

Well, the things on the Doodling Battlefield are certainly heating up. The screen is burning with an abundance of awesome doodles of various mediums and sizes.

The required “unconventional” doodles impress with creativity and surface choices:

Several contenders broke through the 100 barrier, and there are now 2 clear leaders, racing head to head towards the 150-doodle finale (although, quite a few still have a good chance to catch up to them!). We’ll see what happens, this is a serious Doodling sport event out there, no room for weakness. Pro-Doodlers are breathing into each others’ necks and scribble furiously towards the finish line.

Allrighty, the Doodle-Off competition, version 3 is officially in session. First doodles are being posted as well as some self-introductions from the participants. I will be posting weekly-roundups on Fridays from now on, but don’t be lazy, go to Doodle-Off Blog yourself, look, comment, critique, encourage, spread the word. If the first entries are of any indication, it will be a fun ride. I see some very unusual surfaces are being exploited already WE ARE ON FIRE, indeed!!!

…While She Was Gone…

That’s right, I’m going away. So, while I’m gone, I want you to do at least 1 thing. Remember, I wrote about the group of extraordinary doodlers from around the world who were having some good time doodling for an honor of being called the best doodler? Well, YOU can be one of them pretty soon!
Go over to The Doodle Off blog and subscribe. If you’re feeling brave, try to enter the competition yourself. Think, ARE YOU A DOODLER ENOUGH? If the answer is yes, join me and other adventurous doodlers in the 2 month long (did I mention it’s not for WIMPS?) doodling marathon which will run from May 1 through July 1 or whenever somebody manages to come up with 150 doodles (10 of which must be on different materials other than paper). See contest rules & more details here.

Besides me, doodling for profit fun and fame, DOODLAGE will be “hosting” the event, meaning, we’ll be in charge of posting “best of the week”, distributing the prizes and all that good stuff. Please, spread the word about the DOODLE-OFF, link to it from your blogs and make as much virtual noise as you can, as we, IRON DOODLERS like to do our magic in public
