Well, if the teacher doesn’t feel well, 1/3 of the students have dentist appointments and there is an inch of snow on the ground, the it’s declared a snow day and school is cancelled.

Oh my stink! Olivia, after playing outside in the snow for 30 minutes, asks if she should wear tennis shoes? I say that would be good. She removed her crocs to reveal bare feet! What a missionary kid!

They might look happy in the photos, but despite our best efforts as teachers, there are tears every day, from at least some one!

Next furlough is during the summer. I will be so thankful to not have to do school work every day!

Dear friends, The six teenage missionary kids (Allison Dooley, Quinton Schmelzenbach, Jessica and Ethan Myers, Josiah and Lydia Radcliffe) of Kudjip are preparing to Bible quiz at the national tournament at Olivet (Illinois) in July of this year. The books of study for this year are Hebrews and 1st and 2nd Peter. The kids have been studying intensely. This is an exciting opportunity for them to participate in a major youth event. They are going to be a great blessing to others and we are confident this will be a significant time in their lives. It is an expensive venture but we believe it to be a great investment in their lives. Round trip plane tickets will be more than $4,000 apiece. Our last flight was 1am, what to do after you check in and arrive at your gate? Well, sleep on the floor of course!

We were invited to a family mumu, Scott was on call, but a friend helped us so that we could go. It was to start at 1pm. We arrived at 2, and was over by 5. What a fun special time. It was like we were just accepted into their family. We laughed, joked, shared, storied, ate, shooed the dogs away, kept the kids from injuring themselves. It was one of my favorite days in PNG!

Friday afternoon, the tree goes up! We are not putting up many decorations, but it seems like the house is full of Christmas spirit!

We leave PNG on December 14th, but friends are staying in our house, so we get to put up decorations for them to enjoy as well!
