In ep 73 of SWAV we join Nexus and the Dopefiend in the Abraxas coffeeshop as they try the novel psychedelic 4-homet. We start by recalling the previous day’s events which saw us protest against the weedpass and give countless vapourisers away in the Dolphin’s coffeeshop to lucky members of the Dopetribe. Returning to the day we discuss the tradition of trying something new on 421 and today’s psychedelic of choice. After some time we deputise Esseb to go round the room on behalf of us as, frankly moving was not going to be happening anytime soon. We then have a liten to a track from Esse’s new Album with Drizzy Dro, So Potent 5 UK Edition: Get Addicted (C.R.A.C.K) produced by Hicks Uk

This turns out to be a great idea as Esse effortlessly works his way round the Dopetribe interviewing: SGwain, Pothead, High007, Teenage Pie and Mr Nez. Then onwards to Black Beauty from BB’s Bungalow before returning to us to round off the show. As to who has taken what and whether we enjoyed 4-homet… you’ll just have to listen to find out. We finish with another track from So Potent 5: Riotz in London

On this week's fourth and final epsiode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast LIVE from this year's incredible Dopestock festivities in Amsterdam, the Dopefiend is joined by a massive horde of stoned DopeTribers in the basement of the Dolphin's Coffeeshop, and immediately gets the evening's festivites started by launching the judging for this year's Dopestock Joint Rolling Competition, and talking to the esteemed panel of judges, Esse B, Jay K and Tim Prince, who tell what they are looking out for in the search for this year's winner, before they actually begin the judging, working through the crowds and sampling joints created by High007, BlackBeauty, Green Lady, DaveyMac, TeenagePie, EZ Whip, Spluffaluffagus, Christine, weeshug, MellowCulero, Professor Vape and Kush King while the Dopefiend talks to the entrants and spectators and commentates on the proceedings and also talks to this year's new Dealer in Drug Deal or No Drug Deal, the star of Shroom with a View, Nexus, and the man in charge of adding up the votes for this year's Dopestock Cup, star of Pothead's Coffeeshop, Pothead. Following some intense deliberation between the judges outside the Dolphins Coffeeshop, the Dopefiend brings the judges back down into the basement to announce the three winners and to distribute the prizes to the happy winners. Without taking a breath, the Dopefiend immediately turns to Pothead for the announcement of this year's winner of the DopeStock Cup, before getting stuck into the main event of the evening's festivities, the long awaited return of Drug Deal or No Drug Deal, with an enormous prize haul on offer including a Plenty Vaporizer, and a stack of WISPR and Magic Flight Launch Box vaporizers, a sack full of gourmet ganja such as Cannastura, Rusty Whore, Mintslap and Psychonautica, and a huge cast of contestants including Smurfs, Dan N, Snow King, Christine, HazyJay, Nez, Scottobaggins, ZyBear, Tim Prince, Infinity, High007, BlackBeauty, St. Wolf, Pothead, Esse B, Green Giant, DannyGreenFingers and MildlyAmused. In this second installment of the revived Psychonatica Podcast, KMO and Olga speak with witch and art show currator, Pam Grossman and sober psychedelic researcher and author, Peter Bebergal. This episode focuses heavily on the topic of magick, and KMO explains how the word "psychonaut" has, through the work of Peter J. Carroll, linked psychedelic exploration and ceremonial magick for decades. The hosts respond to comments by Max Freakout and the Dopefiend about the heightened caution that the hosts and guests of the show have chosen to exercize with regard to making reference to specific instances of drug use on the program. Peter Bebergal, author of Too Much To Dream: A Psychedelic American Boyhood describes the atmosphere of paranoia that the Drug War creates in people, even those who don't get busted. Olga talks with Pam Grossman about the Proteus Gowanus gallery complex, and Pam dispells some commonly held misconceptions about her relationship to marijuana and psychedelics. Peter challenges psychonauts to examine their own motivations in continuing to use psychedelic drugs even after they have seen the psychedelic landscape many times, and he cautiously endorses the use of magickal ritual as a practice for inducing and investigating non-ordinary states of consciousness while steering clear of the idea that magick has the ability to effect anything in the world other than consciousness. Alan Watts makes two appearances in discourse; first to lament the lack of discipline in the psychedelic scene and later to explain why seeking a harsh path of rigorous self discipline can be a manifestation of the practicioner's fear of enlightenment.

On this week's third of four stunning episodes of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast LIVE from the astonishing huge gathering of international stoners at the sixth and final Dopestock in Amsterdam, we join the Dopefiend and the DopeTribe as they take to the streets of the Capital City of Cannabis for the 4/20 smokeout in protest of the proposed government ban on cannabis tourism. The Dopefiend winds through the crowd of around a hundred cannabis users and talks to Pothead and Kush King about how the day has gone so far, before chatting to Max Freakout, Smoke Jaguar and Infinity25 about whether activism and protests such as the one the DopeTribe are fast approaching actually have any effect, whether it's too much of an intimidating assault on the senses of those whose minds we want to change, or whether minds are actually being changed. Heading back through the crowds, the Dopefiend comes across Mrs. Ann and talks to her about her experience of the last three Dopestocks, and her feelings around the last one, before the DopeTribe arrive at the site of the 4/20 smokeout, where the Dopefiend encounters activist and international cannabis entrepreneur Nol Van Shaik. The Dopefiend talks to Nol about the Dutch government's plans to ban foreign tourists from cannabis coffeeshops, whether the ultimate aim of government forces is indeed to close coffeeshops altogether, how the Dutch scene compares to the increasingly liberal cannabis scene in Spain and the Czech Republic, where Nol is also active, his thoughts about the bickering in the British legalisation movement, and why a political approach is being superceded by a more popular grassroots type of approach the world over. Next, the Dopefiend talks to DopeTribers Christine and Travis House as they prepare their smoking and vaporizing equipment in time for 4:20 about the scene before them, then turns to ProfessorVape and MellowCulero as Tim Prince is interviewed by Dutch TV cameras. Next, Scoobysnakks appears and describes the scene, and Max Freakout explains why he was so happy to see Nol van Shaik at the demonstration, before DannyGreenFingers explains why he's proud to see such a good turnout of both foreigners and natives. The Dopefiend turns to Komrade Komura who gives his thoughts on the occasion and fires up his ThermoVape in time for the big 4:20 countdown, before talking about whether he thinks the demonstration will have any tangible effects, and also giving his thoughts on the situation regarding CLEAR and Peter Reynolds in the UK legalisation movement, the recently announced drug-related sentencing guidelines for UK courts, and whether President Obama's second term will be any better for cannabis users than his first term has been. Turning to Kush King, who is busy filming episodes of Rollin with Kush King, the Dopefiend talks about the free reefers being passed around the crowd and fires up his WISPR vaporizer before talking to the Quayle's Egg about hardcore vaping in the streets of Amsterdam and the ThermoVape vaporizer. Next we hear some of the varied sounds of the 4/20 smokeout, including some live music and frenzied chanting, before a ginger bearded rapper performs, and the Dopefiend talks to Scoobysnakks and TeenagePie about how the 4/20 smokeout has gone and what plans are afoot for the rest of the day as the protest begins to wind up and the DopeTribe prepare for the climax to an incredible Dopestock, coming on next week's Dopecast live from the Dopestock evening session in the Dolphins Coffeeshop. On the first of our incredible episodes of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast LIVE from Amsterdam, the Dopefiend welcomes the DopeTribe to the capital city of cannabis by inviting them on board the famous cannabis canal cruise, an exclusive experience on a privately-chartered luxury vessel through the canals of Amsterdam, billowing thick smoke clouds as she goes! First, the Dopefiend is accosted by Delta-9 Labs' Ed Borg who gets the party started by thrusting a water pipe loaded with a knockout combination of Brainstorm Haze budder, Simpson Kush dry-sieve and bubblehash, which almost brings an end to the Dopecast immediately by stripping the lining from the Dopefiend's vocal chords! Thankfully the Dopefiend is able to fight through the pain and the coughs and talk to Scoobysnakks, SGawain and long-time Dopecast contributor Christine about how their Dopestock experience is going so far before talking to Christine about how the scene in Amsterdam compares to the medical marijuana movement in her native Oregon, and getting her thoughts on the proposed ban on cannabis tourism in the Netherlands, due to come into being later this year. Psychonautica creator, KMO, and his Z-Realm co-host, the Lovely Olga K, restart the Psychonautica engine for first time in over two years. KMO has recently moved to New York City, a psychedelic universe unto itself, and there are so many psychonauts to talk to here, that no Skype calls need be made in the production of this podcast. The co-hosts start the podcast with an explanation as to why they and their guests, podcasting from Prison Nation America, will not be as upfront and explicit about the ingestion of psychedelic medicines as the presenters on other Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network shows. The lion's share of the program consists of an interview with composer and ethnomusicologist, Alexandre Tannous. They open the discussion with talk of cymatics and synesthesia, but the conversation ranges over diverse terrain from there. It’s been another very busy month but thankfully our new contributor ZenRhin0 has helped by producing much of this show. Coming up we’ll have a great selection of music plus some comedy sent in by our very own DarkSpark.

We’ll also be hearing from Ron Paul on the subject of the CIA’s alleged drug trafficking activities and the growing momentum towards legalising hemp and medical marijuana so that we can put an end to the global drug war that is costing us more money and more lives every day it’s allowed to continue.

Towards the end of the show we’ll hear a clip from Crohn’s survivor Shona Banda who tells us how medical marijuana oil has changed her life and helped her live pain free again.

Welcome to SWAV Ep 70 where we talk to writer, podcaster and blogger Douglas Lain. Disgusted by the overdose of science in SWAV 69, Nexus pulls on the podcast reins firmly and steers us down an altogether more artistic and literary road. We start by talking to Doug about his show The Diet Soap Podcast and quickly finding that his interests in writing and podcasting have developed from each other. Nexus can’t resist chatting about the reasons and structure behind another podcast and Doug takes us on a tour of his early life and influences.

We then move on to discussing literature covering a bewildering variety of topics and “big words” that are much more understandable that the “big words” the chemists used in episode 69. We talk about Modernism, Postmodernism, Surrealism and how history has shaped art and literature and how that in turn has shaped our view of the world.

We then turn to Doug’s work talking briefly about Doug’s non-fiction work Pick your Battle, his “radical self-help book”. Next we dive deep into Doug’s most recent novella Wave of Mutilation. We discuss this book in depth and learn how it relates to the current world situation which we all collectively face.

Welcome to SWAV 69 for the second instalment this month it’s all things chemistry. Nexus is reunited with Co-Host and they are joined by chemist, and author Writer-Dude for a frenetic SWAVY ride through the world of chemistry.

Nexus kicks things off asking a question about drug design and mechanism of action, setting Writer-Dude and Co-Host off to try and cover as much as possible. We manage to cover the basic ideas and problems thrown up during drug design, touching on how to resolve your racemic mixture and overcome the ever present problem of steric hindrance. Moving on we realise again that we’ve chosen the wrong media to describe the structure of the atom, listen along as we try to resolve this as well as many other problems as well as our usual SWAVY goodness.

To nicely end the episode Nexus and Co-Host read out a beautifully written email from mob_socratic who asks a few chemistry questions which we try to answer.

Join us as we go deep into the history and up to the current research on both Psychedelics and Parapsychology. We discuss medical, scientific, ritual and shamanic issues in both areas and examine where they converge: the human mind.

Welcome to SWAV68 where we take a look into the strange and mysterious with Dr David Luke, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Greenwich.

His research and writing often explores the overlap between research into parapsychology, psychopharmacology, anthropology and magical beliefs, such as shamanism. His publications have appeared as chapters in several scholarly books and in periodicals such as the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, the Journal of Parapsychology and the Paranormal Review. In 2011 he co-organised the Breaking Convention: A Multidsciplinary Meeting on Psychedelic Consciousness at the Univeristy of Kent.

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast we join the Dopefiend as he enjoys a couple of weeks of total relaxation on the beautiful caribbean island of Antigua, where he starts out by describing the amazing settings that he finds himself in and how he and Dopegirl had the good fortune to be invited on such an incredible trip. Next the Dopefiend explains how he managed to find good quality local ganja within 24 hours of arrival with which to load up his trusty old IOLITE portable vaporizer, maintaining his good record of finding ganja in foreign locations, how he made the mistake of attempting to buy weed from another source, and how this attempt proved to be unsuccessful, and how he eventually managed to source some high-grade Antiguan ganja which kept the Dopefiend nicely stoned for the rest of his stay on the island. Next the Dopefiend fires up his IOLITE and vapes some of this beautiful naturally grown local herb while talking about the benefits of using an optimizer with the IOLITE, and settles down to enjoy the high with a Bob Marley musical interlude. Next we join the Dopefiend on the balcony of his seafront villa on Antigua where he describes how having such tasty ganja has allowed him to fully immerse himself in the experience of being in such a beautiful place, despite receiving some extremely sad news while there. The Dopefiend goes on to talk about this year's extraordinarily good series of DopeTribe Dispatches, reeling off the honour roll of entries and announcing the two winners, who take away a brand new portable vaporizer each, courtesy of IOLITE. Finally, following a brief chat about how he's spent a lot of his time in Antigua with Dopegirl learning to sail, the Dopefiend talks about how he returned the leftover ganja that he wasn't able to use while on holiday to the watersports guy from whom he bought it, and how he feels this kind of considerate, sharing attitude should be part of every stoner's approach to eachother, and how it is saddening when some cannabis users don't follow this unwritten code of ethics.
