Sunday evening at 7pm.

DONATIONS:
Although the dharma is free to all who wish to know, due to rising costs of providing services in teleconferencing and administration, Dorje Ling Atlanta must now request its students to each contribute $10 per lesson towards the costs of the Kalachakra teachings offered by our precious dharma teacher Khenpo Choejor.
( There is a little basket on the coffee table for this purpose.)
No one will be turned away due to genuine financial hardship.

We will continue our book study group on March 19 @7:30 pm for anyone wanting to work on the Mind Beyond Death teachings regarding dream yoga and Bardo.

This might be an excellent chance for new Kalachakra people to ask questions to senior students.

This book has material relating to both Dream Yoga as well as bardo practice and Phowa so we can relate it to the teachings we received from Khenpo on Dream yoga practice.

Ted has offered to start our group off as moderator for this Friday (We will try to meet every Friday so people can plan their schedules.)

We hope to cover the opening foreword and the first chapter this week, but if you don’t have time, or are still getting your book, please feel free to attend anyway.

We can discuss how much material we will cover by the week this Friday, and perhaps we can also have people offer to be moderator for each section.

Tashi Gyaltsen Rinpoche, founder of Dorje Ling, spiritual
head of the Atlanta and New York Jonang Centers, and recognized as an emanation of Taranatha, will give these very precious empowerments. According to witnesses of his birth in Amdo-Golok in Tibet, the first sound Rinpoche uttered was the Guru Siddhi Mantra, extraordinary teachings that are very rarely taught for Western audiences and which are extremely special to receive. Please pre-register as space is limited.

Kalachakra, dating from the age of the historical Buddha,
is the the Wheel of Time that helps us use our daily experi-ence to clear defilements and manifest wisdom and compas-sion. The practitioner becomes an instrument for universal harmony from the blueprint that is the Kalachakra mandala. (David Reigle) This lha dgu empowerment is one of the four higher empowerments of Kalachakra generation stage. It is a pre-requisite for Kalachakra completion stage, symbolized as Kalachakra with the eight deities ablaze and indicative of the ten signs of accomplishment of the six-branched Kalachakra yoga. This important practice is designed for those with aspiration to achieve enlightenment in this lifetime

Kurukulla, the ruby-red lotus dakini of magic and enchantment, attracts the manifestation of our desires and dances on the demon of ignorance. Her four arms are equanimity, joy, love, and compassion. Her arrows are made from red utpala flowers, which attract opportunities like bees to flowers. Her sadhana mentions magical powers of pacifying, increasingwealth and prosperity, enchanting and magnetizing for good, and destroying obstacle.

Khenpo Choejor has kindly offered to give teachings on the 6 Paramitas @ Dorje Ling Center.

Khenpo Choejor will be teaching us both this Friday ( Friday the 13th!) as well as Friday Nov 20. Both evenings are at 7:30 pm.

Below is a small explanation of the importance of this practice for us.

Paramita is a Sanskrit term, which means perfection – perfection in attitude, action and practice. The accomplishment of these perfections will result in the achievement of the ultimate perfection of wisdom that is enlightenment. Enlightenment is perfect discrimination. It is perfect wisdom that discriminates everything clearly and precisely without any distortion. To discriminate, means to understand through one ’s own seeing, and wisdom.

At the moment, our mind perceives and follows everything in a tainted way. While we are here in samsara, our perception and actions are inevitably influenced by the many conditions that hold our mind. Nevertheless, we feel, that how we think, or how we act, is perfectly normal.

There is nothing wrong and so we follow in all our usual ways. In fact, we think there is no other way. This is why it is important to train in the Six Paramitas because the training allows us to see a different way, and a better way. It reveals to us how the conditions of samsara obscure the mind. Moreover, it also happens to be the most direct way to develop and apply Bodhicitta, while we are on the Bodhisattva Path.
(Jigme Rinpoche)

This Sunday is also a very auspicious day so I am including this info for you.

*Lhabab Düchen, is one of the four major festivals commemorating four events in the life of the Buddha. According to Tibetan traditions; Lhabab Düchen occurs on the 22nd day of the 9th month of the Tibetan calendar.

This Buddhist festival is celebrated to observe the descent of Buddha from Tushita heaven back to earth at the urging of Maugalyayana. Buddha returned to earth by means of a special triple ladder prepared by Visawakarma, the god of machines.

*It is particularly auspicious that any merit accumulated on this day is multiplied 100,000 times.

We hope you can be with us.
Please tell your friends.
Thank you.
