Been absent for a month or so and missed some great music, but here’s a recent one I just spotted from Devine Carama. The track features Deacon The Villain of The CunninLynguists and is the third single from Carama’s upcoming free album  No Child Left Behind dropping late June.

My hometown has been hit with a rash of recent violence, along with the rest of the country it seems. Everybody gets so wrapped up in the issues (gun control) and the cause (stop the violence), that the victims are often forgotten. This song is dedicated to those that lost their lives too soon and the responsibility we all have to have a positive impact on the youth so we can save more of these young boys & girls from a premature death..

Slaine’s new album The Boston Project will be dropping on April 16th, and to get us ready for it he releases a new track with fellow Bostonians Reks and Kali entitled The Fuckery Hotel. There’s some good chemistry here, all these guys sound real good together.

This kinda speaks for it’self. DJ Finesse remixed some classic Biggie tracks, over some classic DJ Premier production, what more do I need to say? A few of the tracks miss the mark for me, but many of them sound perfect like they belonged together from the start. Overall it’s a cool project.

This month marks the passing of the lauded rapper Notorious B.I.G. and to honor his legacy, New York resident DJ Finesse debuted a special tribute during DJ Premier’s Sirius/XM show “Live From Headqcourterz” on March 8.

The mix showcases Biggie’s a capellas paired with Premier-produced beats. While the original tribute was shorter for air-time, Finesse extends the tribute for hip-hop fans here with a special intro by Premier himself.

DJ Premier’s “Live From Headqcourterz” airs every Friday night from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Sirius/XM Channel 44, Hip Hop Nation. DJ Finesse is a regular guest on the show, filling in for Premier as an on-air mixer.

I’m a little late on this cause I been pretty busy, but I luh Work Everyday so I’m happy to see Brother Ali came through with a video for it. He’s been doing a lot of hands on work with Occupy Homes in Minnesota to help people who where preyed on by corrupted assholes, and this song and video go to the heart of it. There is so much truth in this from start to finish. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Don’t Stop is the latest single from Chicago’s Joey Purp, off his upcoming album “iiiDrops”.  I’m really diggin this. It looks like the Save Money crew runs pretty deep with talent.
