If you have been following my parenting journey so far, or even just follow me on Instagram; you’ll have noticed I don’t rave about many baby products unless I REALLY love them. There are a few reasons for that. 1. I don’t like to overload my feed with baby things. I already share River’s mug enough LOL. 2. Most of the ‘must-have’ products I see people banging on about don’t phase me, or I’ve found a cheaper alternative. 3. I believe every baby and parent has completely different needs, so I leave people to make their own mind up, unless I think something is extra special and needs raving about. Enter, the baby wrap. It’s the one product I have not stopped talking about, and I’ve found the very BEST version of it out there from Mothership*. *AD – Gifted experience in exchange for a review. It’s not often I get the chance to enjoy a meal with Gary baby free, much less with cocktails involved! So when Turtlebay Plymouth invited us along to try their menu, I organised a babysitter and jumped at the chance! Turtlebay is known for being the best Caribbean restaurant and bar in the UK, and it never fails to impress me. If you’re after exquisite jerk chicken, a plethora of rum, and a good time; then you need to head down to your local bay. Upon arrival we started off with a variety of cocktails; Gary went for Sky Juice – a frozen blend of pomegranate, pineapple, orange & lemon juices, and I went for the Side Chick Martini – vodka, passion fruit, orange juice, prosecco side. It was AMAZING, seriously happy to have this as my ride or die cocktail! They have SO many wonderful combinations whether you want alcohol or not though, that exploring the drinks menu alone would be awesome. But, onto the food! Ello ello folks! It’s been a bit of a minute hasn’t it? Sorry about that. I don’t force myself to blog if I don’t have time/am not in the mood/other responsibilities take over/etc. So often I can miss a week or two… or three. Lately has just been a time thing, I feel like I haven’t had a spare moment! Gary’s working a lot of overtime lately, and any time I do have ‘spare’, I’m using to clean up the house so it’s not totally chaotic, or trying to work on products for my shop relaunch (just 8 weeks to go!!). I know I don’t have to be cleaning up manically and I should let myself relax more.. but I find having a messy house genuinely makes me feel on edge now. So it does me good to fix it, even if it takes up that one spare hour I have. I know, I’m so boring now!! I’m like a regular mom, not a cool mom. I say mum really, but you get the reference. There was once a time where I’d blow all my wages on a shopping spree full of clothes, shoes and makeup; without a second thought. My pennies would be gone before I’d even got through payday if I’m honest, and that’s great when I was carefree living with Mum still, no responsibilities and no need to think ahead. These days I’m SO much better with my money though, and the greatest pleasure I get is by putting it back into our home. That’s why I’m working with Bathing Solutions to talk about perfecting your home for YOU! Right now I’m obsessed with planning all the changes, tweaks, decor and DIY I have planned for each and every room in our house! I’m currently concentrating on the bedroom; some little additions need to be made to our decor, but mainly the big transformations have been done (and I love it!). I don’t want to jinx it, but things are going really well right now. I’ve found myself having lots more good days than bad, and I wake with a bit more pep in my step these days. The first few months of motherhood were hard – okay, no, they still are! – but it’s getting easier. And I’ve had so much to smile about lately, it’s lovely. So I wanted to share with you guys ten happy things lately, and I’d love if you shared your own happy moments this week too! 1. A better schedule As you may have read in my May Goals post; I’ve started prioritising more me time with a new schedule, and I aim to make it a constant thing. It feels bloody WONDERFUL already, and this week has been the best one in ages if I’m honest. Huge shout out to Gary who has opted to take over River duties every moment he’s home from work, not giving himself a minute to relax. May Goals

I’ve found myself feeling rejuvenated by the brighter days, and the warmer weather here and there. I’ve always been an Autumn/Winter kinda girl, and probably always will be, but I’m definitely appreciating Spring right now more than I ever have. Having a baby in the Winter meant I was really limited with what I could do each day, making maternity leave all that more boring. On top of that, him being so young meant there was nothing HE could do, or get out of going out. However, now that River is almost six months old; he’s got so many new abilities, and much more curiosity about the world around him. So now we can start to enjoy so much more day to day, rather than Netflix and nursery rhymes (which both get very old, very quick). With that in mind, my main goal for the month of May is just to ENJOY IT. But if you want specifics? Here are my five little goals… 1. Have specific family days out AND baby free time each week. Recently I was kindly sent some beauty products from MUA, including their new ProBase Foundation and Concealer*; which has 24 versatile shades, and promises high coverage with a smooth finish. I decided to try out everything and feature a full review for you guys, as I can’t resist the chance to try new makeup! Everything in this range is cruelty free too! ProBase Long Wear Matte Finish Foundation – £5 The ProBase Foundation promises full coverage, long wear, a matte finish, while blending easily with shine control. So how did it stack up when I tried it? To be honest, I immediately realised that it applied best with a sponge rather than a brush, which slightly disappointed me. I much prefer using a brush application usually, but once I switched to a sponge, the foundation blended MUCH better. It was easily to build up the coverage and it left my skin looking flawless and with a great matte finish. I would say this is more medium coverage though rather than full coverage, so this is worth bearing in mind. Hello again! LIFE It’s been two weeks since my last blog post, and I’ve had good reason for being pretty quiet around here. My mum came to stay with us for 10 days, and having her around is always so wonderful. Since she lives in Liverpool, I obviously don’t get to see her very often; so it just felt nice to have her there. It was also really helpful to have someone look after River with me each day; giving me a chance to get work done, clean the house, or just have an hour with a cup of tea and a book! I weren’t on Instagram much, and didn’t post on here because I wanted to soak up all the family time I could get; and I felt so much better for it. It’s really refreshing to have that break sometimes, and I’ve found I have loads of inspiration now too. When it came to taking Mum back home to Liverpool; Gary, River and I all went along too. We spent 3 days there before heading back to Plymouth, and this time in Liverpool actually fell on my birthday. It couldn’t have gone any better! I […]
