The new series offers same superior dosing and chemical compatibility as Dosmatics’s liquid concentrate injectors.

The SuperDos (WSP) 2.5% is available in flow range models; 15, 20 and 30 gpm (57, 76 and 114 l/mn) and is offered on the MixPro 2% (WSP). A Wettable and Soluble Powder Lower End (WSPLE) conversion kit can be ordered for both models to convert an existing liquid concentrate injector for wettable or soluble powder dispensing. All (WSP) models and (WSPLE) kits can inject solution mixtures from either liquid concentrate, wettable or soluble powder.

“Our proven dosage piston technology remains the lower end of choice for extended wear life when injecting 100% liquid additives. However, a number of our customers are using wettable and soluble powder products for their injection applications,” explained Sam Chandler, Dosmatic’s senior vice president of sales. “Our (WSP) models and (WSPLE) kits take advantage of a unique dosage gasket designed to withstand the abrasiveness of suspended particles associated with wettable and soluble powder.”

The SuperDos and MixPro (WSP) series and (WSPLE) conversion kits are now shipping. Dosmatic is currently developing WSP technology for more models and ratios and will soon be available. The new labels, like those on Dosmatic’s other injector lines, make it easy for users to quickly and confidently select the injector most appropriate for their particular application, flow rate and desired injection ratio. Now shipping with the new descriptive labels are the MiniDos 7 gpm (4%-20% injector range), the MiniDos 10 gpm, (2%-10% injector range), and the MiniDos 12 gpm series of four models, which accommodates injection ratios of up to 0.4%, 1%, 2.5% and 5%.

“The new labeling system allows our customers to more readily identify the correct injector for their needs,” explained Dosmatic Senior Vice President Sam Chandler. “This enhancement reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and to listening to our customers’ comments and feedback.”

The MiniDos product series offers six models, with ratios ranging from 1:4000 to 1:05. Maximum operating pressure on the MiniDos 12 is 140 psi/10 BAR, depending on the model, and 65 psi/4,5 BAR on the MiniDos 7 and 10. These models are constructed with a patented mixing chamber that employs a one-way gasket, prevents chemical contact with the motor piston, and reduces motor wear. Most significantly, this mixing chamber ensures a precise mixing of water and injected chemical. All models in the MiniDos series allow ratios to be adjusted while in operation and include a standard built-in bypass. The standard proprietary body material matches PVDF for chemical compatibility at no extra cost. In addition, users can change worn parts without opening the upper portion of the unit. The optional remote discharge is also available for the MiniDos product line. The new MiniDos professional series carries a limited three-year warranty—the best in the industry.
Thank you for your comments, visit our website at www.dosmatic.com for more information

Water Bills Threaten Irrigation

Water Bills Threaten Irrigation

Came across an interersting article this morning and thought I would share it. (www.dosmatic.com), the technology leader in non-electric, fluid-driven, proportional injectors and dispensing pumps, introduced today its new MiniDos and SuperDos injectors for use with peracetic acid (PAA). This series includes the (MiniDos 12 GPM, 0.4%), (SuperDos 20 GPM, 0.3%), (SuperDos 30GPM, 0.3%) and (SuperDos 45 GPM, 0.3% models).

Increasingly, professionals are turning to peracetic acid for disinfection, sterilization and microbial control, using it to sanitize food and food service equipment, treat and purify water, prevent bio film formation and kill Legionella bacteria, among other applications. Peracetic acid kills microorganisms through oxidation and the subsequent disruption of their cell membranes. It can damage almost all types of macromolecules associated with a microorganism, leading to cell lysis and true microbial death. However, the oxidizing properties that make peracetic acid so effective also present challenges to the delivery systems used to dilute and dispense it.

In response, Dosmatic’s new MiniDos and SuperDos PAA injectors offer an appropriate and cost-effective dispensing system coupled with the largest flow ranges on the market. To protect dispensers from chemical damage, Dosmatic PAA injectors are designed with Kalrez® O-rings and seals. In addition, a Teflon® chemical induction tube has been added, which further strengthens and protects the injection system.

“PAA is one of the strongest oxidizing agents and fast becoming the dominant food and surface sanitizer in use today,” noted Tony Abrams, North American Industrial Sales Manager for Dosmatic. “Our new PAA series addresses the need for a simple, accurate and affordable solution to PAA dispensing.”

“We tested other, less-expensive seals but kept coming back to the Kalrez option because nothing else resists the aggressive, corrosive nature of PAA like it does,” Abrams added. “With effective plant sanitation critically important to a facility’s food safety net, plant managers need a practical, flexible PAA or other disinfectant dispensing system that will be operational day in and day out.”

Proportional injection and this pioneering mixing chamber ensure a precise mixing of water and injected chemical. What’s more, PAA models in the MiniDos and SuperDos injector series can adjust injection ratios while in operation and accommodate flow ranges up to

45 GPM (205 l/m).

Like all Dosmatic® products, its PAA injector series is backed by a limited three-year warranty — the best in the industry. If you plan to keep your injector in your water line you must consider keeping the area where it is installed from freezing temperatures, if not remove and store as mentioned in a earlier post. Even if you drain your system you will mostly likely still have some water remaining that can cause freeze damage requiring repair or in the worst case replacement. Protect your investment by removing your injector if at all possible. If you have installed it using the suggested three valve pass system as shown in your owners manual it will be easy to remove and reinstall once warmer weather returns. If you have any questions about the best way to maintain your injector contact us and we will be happy to help!
Thank you for your comments, visit our website at www.dosmatic.com for more information

Inyeccion Remota

When season starts just drain the injector and your ready to go. If you forget to put it in a bucket of water, you will have to fill the unit with water and let it soak for 24-48 hrs before start up.
Thank you for your comments, visit our website at www.dosmatic.com for more information

MiniDos Remote Injection Demonstration

Dosmatic Remote Bypass Kit

This is the Dosmatic video of our Remote Bypass Kit, which is attached to an injector in operation. Our video will show the chemical being pulled and injected straight into the water/fluid system, while bypassing the mixing chamber and motor unit. As our customers have discovered, the remote injector kit in some applications extends the life of the injector motor and allows multiple injections within the water/fluid series.

The Remote Bypass kit attached to your injector should be used—

In a series, when multiple chemicals are injected into a water/fluid system. Each injector adds chemical to the fluid system, while bypassing the next injector and eliminating the potential damage to that injector.

To increase the effectiveness of the primary chemical such as fertilizer or chlorine. In a series, the second injector will dispense the primary chemical. The first injector with the remote injector kit attached can be used to control alkalinity or ph with the goal of achieving maximum efficiency of the primary chemical. See Remote Bypass Kit diagram

To prevent mineral buildup within the motor unit. Chemicals like chlorine will cause mineral buildup, so it is better to inject it directly into the water system using the remote injector kit.

And finally, to prevent injector motor damage when injecting aggressive chemical.

Remember: when mixing more than one chemical, always refer to your chemical manufacturer information guide for proper application.
If the filter is clogged, clean and replace. If the filter is clear then check the suction tube itself for cracks and replace if necessary.

If the suction tube is free of cracks or clogs then you may need to clean the suction tube fitting. To do this remove the Interlock Pin (#79 in your manual) and carefully pull out the inner cylinder. Then unscrew the suction tube fitting from the inner cylinder and clean and rinse, replace any damaged parts.

If this does not solve your problem then you would need to unscrew the external cylinder, separating if from the body of the injector. Take hold of the shaft and turn it 90 degrees in any direction to release it and pull the shaft from its housing. Remove the dosage piston and clean and inspect O-rings. To reinstall the dosage piston it is important that the thinner lips of the dosage piston be pointed up before reattaching to shaft.

Clean, dry and inspect inside the inner cylinder for scratches or cracks. If damaged, replace the inner cylinder.

You can now reassemble your lower end and the injector should now be clicking. Each week we will post a different scenario and provide you the information necessary to repair your injector and get you back up and running!

If your injector is not clicking the following are some simple items you can check on your injector.
1.Check that the red plugs are removed.
2.Be sure water flow is in the direction of the arrow on the body of the injector.
3.Be sure the operating pressure is not exceeding the models maximum pressure allowance.
4.Check the lower end to make sure your #17(see manual for location) O-ring is not leaking.
You can also check that your main piston assembly is not worn, if you have wear in this location we recommend you place a minimum of 104 micron inline filter prior to the injector. In addition to these items you may need to also check the cover or main body for wear. This to will need to be replaced and will be eliminated with the use of an inline filter. Finally if you do not find fault in any of these locations check your upper and lower poppets, be sure they are seated on the poppet arms and are not damaged. If you find these poppets are not seated and/or are damaged replace all poppet assemblies.
