I often get asked by my demonstrators (DOstamperSTARS), what should I order out of the mini catalogs? That can sometimes be a difficult decision to make. We often want it all, but is that really necessary to run our Stampin' Up! business? For some demonstrators, it is their hobby, so I advise them to purchase what they like. For the business minded demonstrator, I suggest purchasing a variety of items so as to showcase a variety of styles.

From the 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog, I highly recommended the beautiful stamp set "Berry Christmas" and matching accessories (Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper, Petals-a-Plenty texture impressions folder, Merry Details sizzlet die & Merry embosslit) found on pg 20-21. And of course, don't forget to stock up on cardstock and ink to match the designer series paper (Soft Suede and Real Red). One of my DOstamperSTARS, Laurie Zoellmer, took my advice with her purchases, and made some beautiful projects with it!

I found that I was the recipient of several of her wonderful projects. So today and tomorrow, I'll be sharing some of her work.

Stamp Camp Holiday Cards to Share!

Today I'm sharing a variety of Christmas cards that I did at my holiday events this year. Several were cased/inspired by other card makers.

The first one was done at my Hostess/VIP appreciation event in November. The other four samples were some of the cards we did at my Annual Holiday Stamp-a-Stack. We do a total of 36 cards (4 of 9 designs). Always a fun day!

Serene Snowflakes Holiday Card Swaps

Day Five - Punchy Christmas: Santa Triangle Box

Welcome to the 5th and final day of Punchy Christmas Projects. Today's project features the Red Guy himself - Santa!

We did this adorable Triangle box at my last month's DOstamperSTARS Team Meeting. He's quick and easy to do!

Punch List:
Scallop Circle - Whisper White Beard
5-Petal Flower - Whisper White Mustache
Word Window Punch - Whisper White Hat Trim
1 3/8" Circle - Blush Blossom Face
1/2" Circle - Blush Bloosom Nose & Whisper White Hat Pom Pom
1/4" Circle (retired) or crop-a-dile - Basic Black Eyes
1/4" Square (retired) - Basic Black Belt Buckle
3/4" Square (retired) - Brushed Silver Buckle
1/2" Strip of Basic Black for his belt

Triangle Box Instructions:
1. 4-1/4" x 11" Piece of Real Red Cardstock
2. Fold in half (at 5-1/2" mark)
3. Mark the 2 1/8" point on each 4-1/4" side (your marking the halfway point)
4. From the 2 1/8" point - score a diagonal line to the outer edge of the "fold in half" point.
5. Repeat for all four corners
6. Fold on all scored lines
7. Hold one side of the box flaps together and punch a hole through both flaps (about 1/2" down)
8. Repeat on the other side
9. Feed Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon through all 4 holes and tie in a bow
10. Enjoy!

Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint & Embossed Texture Tree Video

Dec Technqiue Tues Classes: Sunsets & Houses

This month featured some fun techniques that were shared by a couple fellow demonstrators.

This first card features a technique called Glowing Sunset, shared by LeeAnn Greff. It also features another technique...masking. We masked off the "snowy" area. Then using Stampin' Sponges (cut into wedges), So Saffron, Cameo Coral & Bashful Blue ink were sponged onto the card (in that order). Note: It takes a light touch with the sponging.

Other Supplies: Scenic Season stamp set, Bashful Blue, Eggplant Envy and Whisper White Cardstock, Eggplant Envy, So Sffron, Cameo Coral & Bashful Blue Classic Ink, Silver Brads

Let It Snow Banner with the Big Shot

Last year I had Terri Gaines as a guest presenter at my DOstamperSUPERSTARS Downline acheivement event. She did this project: LOVE banner.

I had mentioned that I fell in love with her "Let it Snow" banner. Someone just asked if I had a picture of it...and I do.

Terri used the following Big Shot Dies:
Scallop Circle (#113468) - White Adhesive Backed Fun Foam
Snowflake #2 (#113460) - White Adhesive Backed Fun Foam
Serif Essentials Alphabet (#113464) - Bashful Blue cardstock

It's kinda hard to see in the picture, but she added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to each piece and threaded it all together with silver cording.

Build-a-Bear Workshop Name Frames - Oh so CUTE!

Hey - did you know? I was selected by Stampin' Up! as one of 60 demonstrators to test Build-a-Bear Workshop (BABW) Parties. So I got in gear and made up some cutes samples.

Of course - when I think of BABW, I think of my grandsons Max & Sam. Aren't they cute?!

Here's a cute name frame I made for each of them to match their rooms. I just love the way they turned out!!

I first cut a chipboard bear so they would be sturdy. Then decorated the bears using the Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper (#118060) and cardstock to match. The clothes were die cut with the Beary Essentials Bigz Die (#117978). The cap and star was cut with Beary Boy Sizzlit Die (#117981). The letters were cut with my new Alphabet Simple Letters Bigz Dies (#115960) - LOVE 'EM!

Max's uses: Close to Cocoa, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Brilliant Blue, Brocade Blue and Pumpkin Pie.
Sam's uses: Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa Basic Black & Chocolate Chip.

FYI - The frames fit a 4x6 photo

I'm so excited to give these to them for Christmas!

Big Shot: Holiday Nugget Matchbox

Here's a fun way to give candy for the holidays!

How to:

1. Cut three Stampin' Up! Matchbox (#114890, $42.95), box bottoms only - not the covers from Real Red Cardstock
2. Assemble boxes and add a Silver Brad to the front of each box
3. Cut 6-1/2" x 7-3/8" piece of Soft Suede cardstock. With 7-3/8" side at the top of your trimmer, score at 3-1/4" & 4-1/8".
4. Punch a scallop edge border along both of the 6-1/2" sides.
5. Attach the 3 Real Red boxes to the Soft Suede piece with Sticky Strip
6. Decorate Nuggets with Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper (from the Holiday Mini Catalog)
7. Decorate top of box with Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper. The "hinges" are a tag from the matchbox die. Attach with Jumbo Brads.
8. Tie off box with Mistletoe Ribbon & Silver Cording (from Holiday Mini Catalog)
9. Stamp Merry Christmas bird (from Holiday Best Hostess Level one stamp set) with Soft Suede & Real Red Markers. Punch with Ornament Punch (from Holiday Mini Catalog)

Big Shot: Lattice & Table Setting Die

Here's a couple of projects that we did at my November Big Shot Class.

The first project features several Big Shot dies:

   Stampin' Up! Magnetic Holiday Windows #116821, $29.95
   Stampin' Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die, #114506, $42.95
   Ovals Originals Die, #114525, $15.95

TIP: To create a larger lattice, fold a piece of cardstock in half and place it just below the cutting line. Cut on Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, then unfold

Other Supplies: Christmas Punch (Hostess Level Two stamp set), Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Real Red Cardstock, Soft Suede cardstock and ink, Wide Oval Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals.

When I first received the NEW Stampin' Up! Table Setting Die, #116819, $42.95 (from the Holiday Mini Catalog), the first thing I noticed was the tag and leaf cutouts resembled a candle. The Olive leaves are cut from the Stampin' Up! Little Leaves Sizzlits Die, #114511, $5.50.
